I hope Google keeps sticking with what they’re doing, I would like to see them actually compete with Apple.
they will
I think they do. Definetly in the camera department and usability
Google and apple are same because each is better than the other in different ways but overall pixel phones are intelligent than iPhones
@@judithmisaa5791 Pixel is also miles cheaper than Iphone
I swapped my 7 Pro out for the regular 7. I just couldn't get used to the giant size and the curved edges. I can lose a telephoto camera I'm never gonna use. Currently LOVING the Pixel 7.
Exactly the reason why I went with the P7. Don't want a phablet.
Do you guys notice the color shifting issues when viewing at an angle on white and lighter color backgrounds? How noticeable is the drop in screen resolution also?
@@itisfinished4U not really, I notice it a tad, but I'd rather have that than the awful green tint issue my 4 XL had.
I pre-ordered the pro initially and cancelled it for the base 7 for the same reasons.
@@itisfinished4U I haven't noticed anything like that. Knocks wood!
I just wish the regular Pixel 7 had the telephoto camera too. I tend to take a lot of distance shots with the phone with my hobby and it's unfortunately a dealbreaker for me to not have the telephoto. I'm sick of curved screens and glass backs but those versions of phones are always the only ones that have the camera's that I want lol.
I'm using a pixel 6a and it is great the plastic back is a 👍 you can't really tell the difference between the two 6 or 6a back
Honestly the computational telephoto is pretty damn good. I guess it depends on what your hobby is, but for me it's pretty great.
You do realize this is a phone, not a camera. If taking photos is that important to you, but a freaking camera.
@@bonserbob My situation is kind of unique compared to most people lol. I use a DLSR for shots I actually have time to set a tripod up for, but most of the time I just need to take a quick shot and the zoom from the 4x telephoto on my 6Pro helps IMMENSELY. Enough for me to shell out the extra for the Pro model.
You would love the 10x zoom on the S22 Ultra you be amazed what it does to sunsets and its perfect to take pictures of animals that be impossible otherwise
I love my Pixel 7! It's my first pixel and the best android experience. I've always used Samsung
Same (although I once had an HTC One M7 which I loved.)
@@bardknight ohh you just made me miss my HTC One M8 ! no phone since then had exactly the same camera features! and that was the first on the planet to have an extra larger camera lens. Back at that time, all phones were a single rear cam.
Looks like your profile picture is Apple iPhone 🤣
@@JohnConnor636 Could be an old phone or a second phone or primary phone, i have both s22 ultra and 13 pro. I use 13 for imessage and facetime and selfies. lol
Samsung is dreadful.
My upgrade from last year's Pixel 6 to this year's 7 pro has been huge. The little UI bugs that I would run into daily on the 6 were the most annoying thing, and this year's showing really feels like it was ready for release. I work in phone repair and need daily photos of small parts, so the addition of the macro feature on the 7 pro is HUGE for me.
Congration Google, you done it.
I did the same jump!
Same
Yeah I can't wait until I pay off my pixel 6 so I can then upgrade to the 7 Pro...I want it so bad lol
Same
Dont worry. All those bugs will be back😂😂Give it some time
I like this format a lot. The back & forth between the 3 of you is informative in a person to person and fun way. Quite dope guys!
Only informative if you don't own a Pixel yourself and skipped doing a sliver of research. These guys are clowns. 6 and 6 Pro are still stellar phones.
Hopefully they fixed the 911 bug on the P6 💀
@@SirFaceFone oh boy, I had the pixel 6 and water got inside. which then turned on but had a black screen cus surprisingly I had pressed emergency buttons which called 911 💀
@@kennymccormick8295 sounds like somebody got offended by someone’s opinion!
I just got my Pixel 7 today. So far it seems more refined than the 6. First thing I immediately noticed was the aluminum side rails and the aluminum camera bar makes the 7 feel way more premium. And it feels more thin too. So far no software bugs and thankfully no overheating. On my 6 quite a few times I felt like holding it that it was gonna melt my fingerprints off lol 🤣. In my case I'd rather get the 7 and save $300.
This is probably one of the most real reviews I’ve seen for this phone. You guys addressed all of my concerns about buying it, so around when the 8 comes out I think I’ll get the 7. I know the 8 is supposed to be leagues ahead of the 7 but I’ve seen the estimated price and said “nah man, 7 is fine”
I have the 7 Pro and the 14 Pro Max. Trust me pixel has the best camera apart from the S23 Ultra maybe its the best phone. It costs half of what the other two cost.
I might trade in my P6 for a 7 but there's two problems with that. 1: The trade in value here in Canada is like half that of what it is in the US, for no reason, and 2: I've had no issues with my P6 lol. I don't know how on earth you guys have had such a bad experience with yours, but I've had mine since launch day and it has been nearly flawless. I've had a handful of issues, all of which have been fixed pretty quickly.
Bro they use it for few days and say it's bad on initial impressions. What's important is to spend time with the phone you've put your money on and then you get used to the Pros n cons. Get the 8 next year. Pass the 7. My Pixel 6 is flawless too & also I've seen many tests with 7 side by side and there isin't that much difference as long as you use 4G.
I work for a telecom company and we've had a lot of returns for pixel 6. From the slow fingerprint reader to weird camera to battery not lasting a long time just to name a few things.
@@MadMaxJuggernaut Yes but like I said, after a while you learn to live with them.
The only issue I had with the P6 was connection issues with the Pixel Buds.
@@burd7455 me too, I wasn't sure if that was p6 or the buds though
ONLY BUY ODD NUMBER PIXELS
right and wrong at the same time tbh
meanwhile pixel 5:
@@Snasedshiz Was about to comment the same lol 🤣
Idk about Pixels, but only buy odd number iPhones lol
What about the Pixel 10 with TSMC developed chip? You're WRONG!
I ended up going for the Pixel 7 Pro because the place that I bought it from had a $427 value add of additional Google devices if you pre-ordered. Always worth shopping around and looking for pre-order deals!
You mean the ones that sell for 180$ or less at ebay?
@@maxschmidt666 Yep depending on where you live in the world, add up the total cost of multiple devices and what value do you get?
The battery on the Pixel 7 is seriously incredible as mentioned in this video. I had a similar experience, forgot to charge my phone over night and rushed off to catch a train with only 50% battery without my charger. I use my phone for payment so was worried about running out during the day, however I got home that evening with battery to spare. I used it for music, calls, messages etc like normal. No power save mode. I get through 2 days quite confidently now. Maybe that's also the same for iPhone and Samsung but I can't compare as it has been 3 years since I switched from IPhone to Pixel.
Did you face any heating issues in your P7. I have ordered mine last week. I keep hearing that it has got battery drain and overheating issues. I am just consfused now.
@@gopikarajan4932 none at all. I think people might be confusing it with the issues some people experienced on the 6 series. I've not had any issues with the 7. I love it so far.
@@jimmygfeverishcloth6636 great. Thanks!!
i was very much considering going from a 6 to the 7 pro, but honestly the 6 is just the perfect phone for me. i bought it when it was on sale in july for 449 here in the uk, i worked in a phone shop at the time so i got a bit of discount and i believe the price i paid for the 6 doesn't justify moving to the 7 pro
I went for the Pro. I've had it less than a week and I've already used both the 30x zoom and macro modes. I don't know how often I'll use them, but having them is a great safety net, especially as someone who's nearsighted. I'm getting used to the size of it, and frankly I'm not sure I'll go back to a smaller phone after the 7 Pro. The only thing I'll say I miss about my old 4a is the ability to swipe on the rear fingerprint sensor to show my notification shade. Other than that, I'm very happy with my purchase. I don't mind the curved screen, and I always put a case on my phones, so the glossy finish isn't an issue either.
you can use the double tap feature and you can double tap your finger on the back of the 7 and 7 pro to do your choice of a few functions, I 'think' show notifications is one. I forget how to find it, but if you search settings for "tap" should work.
@@JunkBondTrader I found that and set it for that function, but it doesn't always work for me. Sometimes I've caught myself trying two, three, even four times to try to get it to work. Something to get used to, I suppose. Still not as simple to activate as the sensor swipe.
@@JohnPaulHare the next best thing for me is swiping down while on the home screen
If I'm in an app it's a quick swipe up to hide it first then swipe down
@@VGJunky yeah I think this is the intended accessibility way for people who have smaller hands. I like doing it this way myself even with my spider fingers
Did u camera glass shatter or it is fine?
What is everyone seeing that I'm not? It's all big phones. I use the pixel 5 and I wish companies would take note. The pixel 5 is a beauty. Thin, lightweight, fast and big enough for a phone.
Can we please go back to making normal sized phones that you can use one handed
Problem is that most "phone" users today don't use it as a phone. Try calling someone who just texted you. It will piss them off. What I appreciate about the Pixel is they actually are still working on the phone side of things. Some phones seem to have given up on that (I'm looking at YOU Sony!)
Here here! I'm really glad they shrunk the Pixel 7 this year. It's still just a little too big though.
yep, pixel 5 and s22 perfect size and bezels.
That's awesome, even being in the climbing gym quite often over the past 4 years you're the first person that has mentioned the fingerprint and climbing issue. Glad it's not just me
I've had the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 5X, Pixel 2, Pixel 5, Pixel 6 and now the Pixel 7. I love the 7, it's just a touch smaller and lighter than the 6 which was my biggest selling point. Also the metal camera bar. I dropped my 6 face down on gravel and broke the camera bar glass and haven't been taking good pictures since.
I take it the P2 turned you off that line for a while based on the 3-phone gap? :P It had *issues*.
A year later this is still a pretty safe deal. Specifically right now, as a local Big-box store here in Denmark sells it at 340 USD this week.
(Edit) Pro tip: When you work in communication, try to avoid making every statement sound like a question, and fry vocals are extremely annoying.
About the Google Pay/Face unlock issue: When Google Pay fails, it pulls up the finger print sensor, just slap your finger on there and it's good to go. No need to lock the phone, then unlock the phone again with the fingerprint.
It’s not really an issue the face unlock is only for unlocking your phone. The fingerprint sensor is used to authorize payments
I pulled the trigger on the Pro cuz i was able to get it at 599. Its essentially Pixel 7 price if bought from the google store. The speakers are good (arent garb like the 6a/6 maybe 7 too), the screen's great, + the cam is extra to me. Its got double the RAM compared to my last device! Tho most useful feats, lie in the software-side.
I love my pixel 7. Upgraded from the 2XL and it is a huge difference for the better. Especially the battery life. On my 2XL I would have to charge it 5 hours into my shift when it hit 20% but with the 7 I don't have to and still have between 30-50% left at the end of my shift.
good god was the P2 bad for me. Battery didn't live past 15 months for me. It was too small and died early for it. P6 is the next one I got but not even a year later and I'm nickle-and-dimed annoyed by it to the point I basically jumped at the 7. Even if the only difference is the processor and AI stuffs vs the 6, I'll happily take it.
I've had my 2XL since May 2019 and I still love it, but it's definitely time to upgrade. The 7 seems to be the best choice!
@@anniandro The 7 is what the 6 was supposed to be, which is pretty good so far. better in every aspect (bugs, UX, battery life, AI).
The choice between the 7 for the size and the 7 Pro for the camera oddly mimics my own conundrum last year with the iPhone 13. I greatly preferred the 13 mini’s form factor and the matte aluminum over the stainless steel, but I really needed the 13 Pro’s extra camera abilities. I’m really finding myself interested in switching to the Pixel 7 (I’ve used a few of the A series Pixels before my current iPhones) and I’m finding once again I’m trying to decide between my preferred size (and cost) in the 7 vs the larger, more camera capable 7 Pro.
@unholydonuts I ended up keeping the iPhone 13 mini for my daily phone, but I picked up a Pixel 7 to use as my camera.
I wish Google would start adding a telephoto lens to their non Pro model, just like Samsung does with their non ultra models.
Agreed.
Then there would be a price increase and even less of a reason to get the pro
@@tylerblack9108 I'm not suggesting they put a 4x zoom in the Pixel 7, 2x zoom should be the bare minimum for a phone costing 600 bucks. The user should have all lenses at their disposal and shouldn't have to settle. Want more reach? Get the Pro. 2x is 2018 tech, so it's not adding another 200 bucks to the bill of materials. It can and should be done. Nothing can replace genuine optical zoom, not even Google's secret camera software voodoo magic sauce. Each to their own.
@@ahmedbebars6844 pixel 6/7 are value kings already.
Adding that telephoto adds cost, they aren't going to use a lense from 2018, profit margins for the 6 are probably quite slim and they don't sell close to what Samsung sell so manufacturing costs are no doubt higher.
You're not complaining about the iPhone 14s lack of a telephoto? And Apple has an established supply chain and years in the chip producing segment, Google is outsourcing all of this from it's competitors, somehow enough just isn't enough, and despite its lack of a telephoto the pixel 7 will still likely go on to finish 1st or top 3 cameras of its generation, and again like last year he crowned value king and the ultimate all rounder at its price point, it's effectively competing with the top teir offerings
Defo all of the extra features should be on the 7, and make it cheaper 😅😊
I upgraded from the 3a to the 7 pro and the difference is crazy, absolutely loving this phone so far
@@AnimationByDylan how did you use that phone for so long
I did the exact same 😂 Definitely enjoying it
I just upgraded from the 3a to the 6 around July. I absolutely LOVED the 3a, best phone ever. Compared to the 3a I was super unimpressed with the 6. Might try upgrading to the 7 hoping that it's an improvement.
@@syedhammad1962 I never really had issues or bugs until recently, so didn't feel the need to upgrade to the 4-6 versions that where reportably not that impressive. Knew it was time when my battery was giving out around lunch time though
@@connortaylor70 I would look into it, got this phone for basically free trading in my old 3a, the 6 would be even better I would guess
They need to bring back the radar stuff from the pixel 4. The face unlock and alarm quieting when you reach are real nice.
Yeah but the pixel 4 also had a ginormous forehead, I’d rather have them improve the finger print scanner’s speed and reliability
Just switched to the Pixel 7 after having the iphone 12 pro and the XR before that. I'm really enjoying the Pixel. I've used Androids before, but never had a flag ship, and it makes a huge difference.
Telephoto is for taking pictures of the board if you're at the end of the class room
One year later the P7 along with A14 update has definitely delivered on performance and battery life has much improved while on LTE I get 9 hrs SOT normal usage and only use 5g for streaming and downloading with auto brightness off..65 to 70 settings is perfect,no heating issues, the P7 is has been under rated in my opinion
I wish they had given a tele-photo on 7 as well.
I prefer smaller screen and have the opportunity to review either one but I chose the pixel 7 pro. I want the telephoto zoom lens over the ultra wide lens . I prefer the flat screen which is why I bought the reg S21 over the ultra and the smaller screen is better for me than the bigger plus model.
Coming from Pixel 5, I'm very worried about the HUGE size of Pixel 7 Pro, which I want for the extra camera features - I wish they offered the Pro version also in the smaller (reg 7) size.
Unfortunately the manufacturers seem to think people want ultra wide angle, and not telephoto. 😒
I just popped in my SIM and transferred all my data. Soooo glad I decided to upgrade from the P6P. Zero issues. Smooth as butter.
I love my P7 overall but that sharpening and hdr the camera does is just 💀💀💀
I recently swapped my iPhone 14 pro for the 7 Pro and I couldn't be happier.. definitely one of the best phones I have used
I just got the pixel 7 pro and it is awesome. I left IOS for it and I do not regret it at all. Something that you guys should really check out and I hope you do. Try using your AirPods Pro or Max with it. Especially the Max. The noise cancellation is way better than it is using iPhone. Also, it sounds better. Higher fidelity. You do lose transparency mode. This is how I always wanted my AirPods to sound.
I'm going from 6a to the 8
Same!!!
all I wish the Pixel 7 had was equal bezels all around. like the Pixel 5.
The way Google shows Hazel on their website, doesn't seem to be completely accurate. It looks more grey on their website, but in videos it looks like a blueish green. Similar to a Lunar Rock RAV4.
That's common in computer graphics / renders
I wonder if the top of the line phones will ever go back to totally flat screens. Having used a Oneplus 7 Pro for the past 3 years, I wouldn't say a curved screen is a dealbreaker- it didn't bother me that much initially and still doesn't. But every time I touch a phone with a flat screen I have to admit it does feel better. I guess enough people think it looks cool that manufacturers keep doing it.
My P7P is getting here today. I agree with you. I like the matte aluminum camera bar, and wish they had that on the P7P. The only reason I went with the Pro is the 5x optical zoom. And $300 doesn't make sense for that, but I like to take photos.
But the polished camera bar in pro model makes it seems more expensive!
@@no_You_but also gets scratched easily so you need a camera skin to protect it
I've made a huge change from the Sony Xperia 5iii to the 7 pro + Pixel Watch. The 7 pro is not as big as I thought it would be. As soon as I put a case on the 7pro, the curved screen is not an issue for me. I'm a camera guy and blown away at the detail you get from even the 30x cropped telephoto. My only issue at the moment is that any audio seems to be right heavy on landscape. The Sony gave me perfect stereo from both sides when watching in landscape, the 7 pro is about 70% louder on the right (bottom by charging port) and no options to fine tune.
Going from pixel 5 to 6...I had to go 7 pro. 120hz needs to be my daily going into 2023. Love the macro mode and zoom, curved edge is weird though. Why did they make curved edges?
It makes the side bezels look smaller and supposedly looks more premium and some people actually ask for it (?)
I ordered the Pixel 7 yesterday. Looking forward to testing the voice-to-text feature, since I have heard good words about it with the Pixel 7 series.
I have the Oneplus Nord2 right now, and it is a great phone for the price. I guess I am spoiled since I want to upgrade already. :)
I feel somewhat alone in the fact that I like these more iterative phones this year. It's part of why I've decided to jump into the Fold 4, and very seriously considered the Pixel. I loved the ideas introduced in last years' versions, but I felt like they were unfinished, so seeing those ideas further refined for this year gives me some (probably naïve) confidence. Every year doesn't have to be a huge overhaul. Sometimes, "the same but better," is all I really need.
I'm upgrading from a 3a. Excited
I upgraded to the Pixel 7 from the 5a. The 7 may be best phone I've ever had. And past phones included Samsungs. TBF, looking up online for customization tips for the 7 is a must to get what I wanted from this phone. But it was so worth doing
I was about to send the 7 Pro back for the 7 . . . Then I switched the case I had for a thinner case. Now the difference in width between my old 6 and my 7 Pro feels pretty negligible.
I am a "power" Android user. I go through a ton of devices. I have what they like to call a phone addiction. OnePlus, Samsung and pixel. The pixel 7 pro is an absolute powerhouse of a device. Fastest, snappier Android phone I have ever used. This year I have zero, let me repeat...ZERO bugs. Best cameras I've ever used. I run my 2 websites and business from my laptop and mobile device. My battery life is beast mode. I just got over 8 hours of screen on time. Almost 9 hours of SOT. I'm honestly blown away. I sold my Pixel 6 pro last year and got the S22 ultra when it released in Feb. 2022 and just sold my S22 ultra for this pixel 7 pro. I'm glad it did. This pixel has been a wonderful experience this year. I can honestly say I'm sticking with the pixel 7 pro for the next year, until the pixel 8 pro comes out lol 🤣. Google nailed it this year! If you are on the fence about this year's pixel series don't be. Get one, either one of them. My wife and I got the pixel 7 pro and my daughter got the pixel 7. The 7 is a phenomenal device. The size of the 7 is perfect. Just get the 7 either one. This is it.
I definitely swapped my Pixel 6 Pro for the Pixel 7 Pro at launch. My 6 Pro was great and I had very few issues, however, the issue I did have was impactful. The modem in the 6 Pro definitely had issues. Connecting to the WiFi at my gym was totally hit and miss; one day I could connect the next day I could not. 5G and LTE connectivity was plagued with issues of dropped calls, no data connection with the dreaded 5G exclamation mark icon (!) Since getting my Pixel 7 Pro, I have absolutely NO connectivity issues whatsoever! In fact, signal strength is better in my P7Pro than on my iPhone 13 Pro standing in the same spot. I'm LOVING the P7Pro!
I'm debating getting the Pixel 7 or 7 pro as well, upgrading from a Samsung s8+. Main thing for me is the long term, like another phone I keep for 5 years. I hope to test both of them before buying. If possible, I'd love a 3 month update right before Christmas. However, that would be very hard to do for multiple phones
fingerprint reader sucks
same, upgrading from s8 and want to keep it for 5-6 years; But Im wondering for 6a pixel ; wwhat happened you got your pixel?
I've used galaxy phones since the s3 (had an s3, s6, s8, s10). I was going to upgrade from an s10 to a s22 but decided to get a pixel 7... LOVE IT. Only thing I'm having issues with is my data randomly turns off thru out the day. Not sure if it's just a me problem but besides that I love it.
Been using the pixel 7 and pushing it to the limit, did a 4 hour road trip with wireless Android auto, Google maps, and Black player running and heat was mild compared to my pixel 5.
Added AAD fermata Auto and using it watch movies + wireless Android auto + Google maps and the phone handles it like a champ.
Lastly did a 16 hour Disneyland trip and was able to last pretty much all day with battery saver needed to be enabled by around hour 12 with heavy 4k video recording + lots of photos so I'm pretty happy.
Only thing i hate is the dumb screen finger unlock other than that great phone(:
Hey man, could you elaborate on what you don't like about the pixel 7 fingerprint scanner? Thank you!
im giving it another month or so, to see if there are any bugs and see how the fingerprint reader is performing before i buy it. Face unlock is a great extra feature to have. Battery life seems decent. It'll be the first phone i buy in it's release year in like 7 years, so really looking forward
Update. I've had the phone for a month. The camera is amazing, and even the video. Translates well to desktop editing as well. Everything else though, my 4 year old oneplus 7t is better or as good as. The pixel is SUPER finicky with USB c to USB a cables. Chargers that were working with other phones simply don't supply charge. The 30w fast charge isn't really that fast. They should've bundled a charger because you're going to drop at least 28$ to get a USB c charger that has a higher rating. The battery is quite pathetic until you turn off 5G which seems to defeat the point. Snappiness and ram performance were not better than my OnePlus. Bugs are still a thing with this phone in 2022 and the fingerprint scanner is one of the worst I've seen in a modern smartphone, I have to put in the code for 'extra security's about half the time. Face unlock will destroy your battery
@@ritwikjsHey, how's your experience with the Pixel 7 now? Has anything been fixed? I was thinking of getting it when the Pixel 8 drops since I'll get it at a massive discount. It's either this, or the S22+. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Watching this on Pixel 6 Pro I just recently got it and I have had zero issues no bugs or nothing maybe all the updates from being a year old have really done it justice and the camera is amazing only thing that bothers me is the slow charging but still might upgrade
I purchased the Pixel 7. And I am in love with it I neve thought on buying a Pixel phone because of the bugs but this time I think they finally did it.
100% Agree. I prefer certain things over my Z fold 4.
I am so happy that I haven't experienced any downside to my p6p throughout owning it(pre ordered it) I see a lot of people have had bad luck but on my end I think it's been my favorite phone so far, I do miss p4 xls face unlock though.
I had the pixel 7 pro for a few days. Came from the s22 ultra. the speakers on the pixel sound tinny compared to even an old iphone. it was quite noticeable. it sounds clear, just not as full and robust as iphone. as someone who watched videos a lot on their phone, this matters a lot to me. Also, video cam is not as good. so I had to return my pixel and get the iphone 14 pro instead. as much as it pained me to not have fingerprint unlock anymore.
how's the iphone pro? I'm thinking about returning my pixel for the iphone too

Upgrade from my LG G8 to Pixel 7 pro. Love everything about it so far!
I have the LG G8 ThinQ and am thinking of upgrading to either the Pixel 7 Pro or the Sony Xperia 1iv because the 3.5 audio jack and excellent LDAC sound of the G8 is not present on the Pixel phones and they are present on the Sony. Was the audio a big thing to you and do you miss it?

Here is my running list on what Pixel 7 Pro (or rather newest line up and newest OS does NOT have:
1. After taking a picture, quick view requires you to have Google Photos installed/enabled (even if you have Google Gallery or other 3rd party gallery installed).
2. No "double tap" to turn off the screen
3. Traking screenshot is either hardware buttons, or task manager and clicking "screenshot" option there (why not gesture Google?)
4. Adjusting the size of the font and size of the icons are applied across home screen, app drawer and settings menu (weird)
5. "NAILED" to the home screen is calendar in the odd upper left area... cannot be removed... DUMB
6. "NAILED" to the home screen is google search bar - even if you are not using it, nope, gotta stay there... DUMB
7. Task manager does not have immediate "Close All" upon opening it... you have to swipe all the way to the left to get to it
8. Multiple icons in a folder on home screen look crowded, rather vertically positioned, not horizontally
9. Wi-Fi switch requires to bring down notifications, click Internet then get to on/off switch... why change this from what it was before?
10. Finger print reader is positioned little bit too high considering the size of the phone (specifically 7 Pro version)
11. Brightness slider (within notifications menu down) is rapidly blinking if you move it to adjust brightness manually
12. Fast charging is really no fast charging: marketed as 30W charger, is actually 23W and 0-100% charging time is 1hr and 52mins... (slower than a Hummer EV ona fast charger btw...
13. Smart Unlock only works with trusted devices (paired BT devices, etc.) and smart places (home address but approximated - within 125 meters range (or ~400ft) around your house. It does not offer trusted networks (once connected to WiFi, then allowing it) - why not Google??
14. No hardware slider switch for mute-vibrate-ring selection
15. No option to put camera for a quick access on the lock screen of the phone.
16. Keyboard does not stretch all the way to the sides, causing typos all over the place - slightly curved edges serve no purpose.
17. Camera quality does not justify such big rear camera bar that is sticking out... not designed the way it could be designed.
18. When watching RUclips, sound is not properly equalizied - bottom of the screen speaker is noticeably louder.
19. PIN code is asked for too often after I use my fingerprint to unlock the phone - no option to adjust this, or turn it off.
20. PIN code requires you to click "ENTER" arrow after typing it on the screen.
21. When you open app, clicking back (to home screen) shows a quick blink of the app icon across the half of the screen on the phone...
I have sadly hoped Pixel 7 Pro was going to be it... but unfortunately it spend just a few days in my posession and was returned for a refund... they still have work to do...
man you really had some probs with pixel huh, im curious what phone you switched to now
Completely agree with the upgrade comment from the 6 to the 7. I had frequent GPS and cell signal issues with my 6 Pro. My wife's Pixel 5 didn't have these problems. My 3XL didn't have these problems. I bought the 7 Pro and it's been working great so far. I'm not someone who upgrades every iteration (I went from 3XL to 6Pro)...but, the issues I was having with the 6Pro were not something I wanted to live with for another year or two.
I have the iPhone 13 and just bought the Pixel 7 in black...still learning it. But so far...I love it! Battery life is better than my iPhone 13 and loving the split screen feature.
Still like the pixel? I have the 13pro and thinking about switching.
Split screen is almost useless on phones, it's too small
How do you have thtra much battery? My iPhone 13 and 14 had muchhhh better batter than my pixel 7 pro
With all due respect i dont like curved screens t all, never have, never will..
Flat screen feels way better
I went from the pixel 4, to the iPhone 13 pro for 4 months and I broke it and am now on the 7 pro. I am in love with this phone.
Are you satisfied with the Pixel 7 Pro? I'm currently on iPhone 13 Pro and thinking about switching to Pixel 7, because I kind of miss android experience and all of the customization.
@@snakesrc8826 I like everything except the fingerprint scanner. And I think that is only because of my screen protector.
To address the instability of Face Unlock/Fingerprint in car, try enable smart lock. It keeps your device unlocked while connected to specified Bluetooth devices. I found this to be super helpful while driving/listening to music with BT headphones.
I swapped from the S22+ to the 7. OneUI is unbearably bloated coming into it from a Pixel 3. The assistant for some reason is incredibly stupid on Samsung phones and the duplicate apps was annoying to deal with. I missed so many smart features and that in itself was enough for me to switch back. If this phone wasn't as solid as it was reported to be at launch I would've had to stick with the s22+ for another year but I'm glad pixel 7 has so far had a solid launch. Loving the phone.
Can't decide which one to buy, Pixel 7 or S 22+. With current discount offer, their price is almost the same. On papers S22+ have more features, more battery capacity etc, so its price. But I like P7 size and flat screen. What do you suggest from your experience? How good/bad is P7 battery?
@Hmaa Khiangte I have an s22, get a pixel. One ui is bloated and slow, I run into frame drops probably 1 out of 4 of total animations, exynos overheats like crazy, software doesn't visually look as nice. Don't make a mistake, get the pixel
@@scarry776 Ok. Thanks. Here S22+ comes with snapdragon, not sure how much it differ from exynos. I like the specs of S22+ (as on paper) I like P7 size and design 😅
Go for pixel
@@hmaakhiangte Did you decide? I am having same scenario, I am a long Samsung S10+ user, and although OneUI is kind of bloaty, I still like it, don't know if I'm ready to switch to Pixel UI...
I just want Google to make the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro identical apart from size, battery and curved edges. Like what apple does, cuz it sucks that people who prefer smaller phones have to sacrifice certain things that the Pro offers just to get a smaller phone.
I have a Pixel 6, I've had a couple of minor bugs but for the most part, my experience has been fantastic, super fast and snappy phone and I might change it for a Pixel 8 or 9 in the future, the 7 looks awesome but not worth the jump from 1 gen to the next one imo.
My thoughts exactly. My pixel 6 has an issue every once and a while. But I quick software clean and turn the phone off once a week helps a lot. And I've done that with every phone I've ever had.
Thanks for the video guys
Would love the 7 pro with a 6.5" screen.
Got my 7 today from the 6.
I was happy with the 6 after all the bug fixes, but I'd cracked the screen so it was $130 to upgrade to the 7, compared to $127 for the replacement screen and my time to do the swap.
I was an iPhone 11 user and thought I was going to keep for another 2 years but after IOS 16 came out and updated talk to text was a big deal for me and it became unusable for me so it was time for a change since I remember from my pixel 4 being amazing I decided to upgrade to the pixel 7 and it was a great choice. I do recommend switching it you are looking for good battery life, talk to text, picture taking and many more good things. The only bad thing for me is that I lose connection when I'm at work but it could be fixed with an update. From iPhone to android no regrets.
I’m doing the same exact thing today as far as trading for the same exact phones
I've had a Pixel 7 pro for a couple of weeks now, but I've gone back to my old Huawei P30pro - the Pixel 7 is cumbersome and slow - I've noticed the double tap thing as well, I get it every time. Even though my Huawei is a couple of years old feels like a much more premium product. Plus the battery lasts five times longer! I've never had a phone that hogs battery power like the Pixel 7 pro.
I think how you unlock a phone adds to the experience of using it quite a bit. Saw the Pixel's unlocking and compared to that, my S10 feels instantaneous. Just makes the phone feel way more fluidic even if the Pixel is the faster phone. I must add that I am not a power user so performance does not make that big a difference to my experience anyway.
Bruh what, it doesn’t matter. You can just get face recognition if print reader is too slow for you or get classical password
Samsung's S22Plus versus Google Pixel 7, what's best to buy it you'd get them at the same price?
Per your discussion about the telephoto lens as a tool, that's why I get the pro. I run a warehouse and I use it daily to check product labels three stories up. se.of which are only 4x6 inches. The upgrade is basically a work expense. If I didn't use that regularly I'd just get a regular Pixel.
Would like to see a review update like hey we have been using the phone for a few months now and here how it compares to how it was at launch
Still on the Pixel3, planning to upgrade, the now playing bug is effecting my phone
My P3 battery just started swelling...I'll be upgrading, but I'll miss the P3
Just got the 7, I still think the 3 is the best pixel. Wayyy better speakers, form factor, screen has higher pixel density. It's plenty fast as well. I would return the 7 if Google would support the pixel with software or even security updates. The fingerprint reader on the back is also so much better for scrolling down notifications etc. Pixel 3 was the best...
id say just wait for the 8. its probably going to fix everything that 6-7 has.
Ugh I loved my pixel 3 stayed with it to the pixel 6. I just got the 7 it's sweet definitely would recommend it over the 6
Traded my six in for the seven. They had a deal where the Google had the seven for $4.99 and gave you 479 trade-in for the six great deal. Love the seven
Just picked up the Pixel 7 a couple days ago. I had the OnePlus 6t since 2018 and I was researching between the iPhone 14+, S22+, and Pixel 7 Pro. I've been using Android since 2014 and didn't want to go back to iOS. After doing research, I was leaning with the Pixel 7 Pro until I saw a number of reviews of people recommending the 7. Even still, I was leaning towards the 7 Pro but decided to reach out to a local T-Mobile store to get a price comparison between the two. T-Mobile had a killer deal on the 7 which was the deciding factor for me as it lowered the cost from $599 to $99. I'm glad I did it because compared to my 6t, the 7 is still a major upgrade and I'm happy with the the features. This is my first Pixel phone and I'm really enjoying the stock Android. Also, I like matte anything over glossy as glossy shows more fingerprints, scratches, etc.
The 6t is such a banger phone. Mine is still clinging to life and it's been awesome
@@HeroicGoose It was such a great phone! I miss the notification sound slider that was on the side of the phone.
I want them to make another pixel with the smaller form factor of the pixel 5 but with the new camera and a larger battery.
Thank you! Getting mines this week
Pixel 7 is an excellent deal, wish they would increased the price and kept the screen 120hz LTPO same as Pro model.
I agree. Samsung sells $300 phones with 120hz. Pixels have never been a value phone I guess
Have had a P6Pro since launch day in the US. No issues. No modem problems. No "5G destroying my battery" issues. No finger print sensor being too slow, not working, etc. No buggy UI. Not once has it "crashed" or shown signs of problems. It just works and works real well. It's still smooth, doesn't feel slowed down.
My only issue (which I thought I would get used to it) is the overall size. It's more problematic for most daily use like email, text, quick lookup, general tasks.... but it is perfect for media, editing photos/video. But since the former takes up more of the day, it's something to consider. I wish they could cram all those cameras and screen refresh hardware into a much smaller form factor :) that would sweet.
iOS 16 has been such a disgusting buggy mess that these android bugs that you guys talked about seem small in comparison
It’s in beta my guy
Glad I never downloaded it (yet).
@@Oneiros0629 what…? iOS 16 is not in beta
@@james060491 if you download IOS 16 you'll notice it says beta, and you'll also notice it doesn't alert you to download it
Been using iOS 16 and had no issue.
You guys aren't mentioning the jump in RAM for the pro vs the standard. It's a very noticeable jump in performance. As well as the curve affects me in no way whatsoever, I'm not sure what the gripe is with that.
I upgraded from the xl2 and I miss android 11. There are definitely some great updates to the ui with Android 13 but also some steps back in my opinion. I also haven't enjoyed the fingerprint or face unlock experience. I miss the fingerprint on the back.
I have few weird bugs on my 7 pro that I saw once but never again but they were weird enough bugs that you would think something is wrong. 1) if I go on RUclips, watch a video, the media control overlay (that has the pause, next and previous) never disappear regardless of full screen or app closure. It resolved after force quitting app twice 2) if I open the comments in portrait mode, then the "x" button to close out of the comments is unclickable. I have use the "back" gesture to get out of the comments 3) my phone app bugged out and crashed within 10 min of using the phone after setup, which is unheard of in any phone I've ever had... 4) face unlock would NOT setup on my face. I have nice lighting in my house. It literally would not detect my face. I had to wait until the morning sun to set up face unlock. 5) I have a pin on my SIM card and every now and then my phone asks me to re enter the pin code to unlock my SIM. This would be normal except for the fact that I never shut off my phone to ask me to renter my passcode. It's happened to me 4 times already (under 24 hrs of use)
Google definitely needs to drop the curved screens. If Google makes an ultravariant of their pixel phones from here on out, depending on how things go in a few years, I may get a pixel ultra instead of going back to a Galaxy ultra phone. But Google needs to iron out the phone's ability to keep cool and not overheat as my Samsung phones always were able to handle the heat far better than any pixel without overheating.
The guy on the left has the most aggressive blinking, and now you cannot unsee it! :D
Just bought the 7 and am super excited!!!
Since Android 13 , the pixel 6 has been awesome . Battery life is brilliant . However, bought the 7 for my wife and it looks awesome 👍
I really hope the Pixel 8 is smaller, doesn't have a glass back, and includes a telephoto camera. That said, I might pick up the Pixel 7 because there's an insanely good deal going for it right now.
How come you guys have such a great battery life with Pixel 7. I feel the battery drains quite fast and I find myself searching for a charger about 7-8 in evening
Really depends on how often you are actively using it. I have Spotify running for like 9 hours a day, followed by some active usage. I don't really have to set it to charge until like 15 hours from a full charge
I went from 2xl to 5 to 7pro. Getting use to a big screen again. Phone feels very classy and been so smooth so far. Only annoyance to me certain app can no longer be used.
For goodness sake, somebody go first
The thumbnail has an optical illusion:For a second it makes you wonder if the camera and the back of the phone are oriented to the right or to the left
Just switched from my s21 ultra to a P7Pro and so far loving it. Stock Android is so snappy and clean, I really like it, although One UI has come a long way.
Same for me as well. I thought I was going to miss having a camera as good as the s21 but this camera and software is so well done and smooth I haven't thought about my old phone at all.
Yesterday I used the pixel 6 pro for the first time at the store and I was impressed by the software, so different and incredible, for the first time I'm really exited to say that I'm replacing my note 10 plus for the pixel 7 pro
You won't regret it
The flat screen was a major selling feature of the 7 for me. Coming from the OnePlus 7 Pro, i learned to hate the curved size.
Would you say this phone is an upgrade from the 7 pro that's what I have right now. I'm not sure if I should get the Pixel 6 Pro or the Pixel 7
@@henrycrawley3533 I wouldn't go 6 Pro because of modem issues. Also an issue I had on the 7 Pro.
I view it as an upgrade. I don't game. I want good battery. I want useful, not gimicky, features. And I don't want to pay a fortune. For me, this was a good upgrade.
Honestly. The pixel 5 was the perfect size phone to me. I am not a fan of big phones either. I do want the zoom though.
I felt the same way. 5 was so perfect. I just decided I would try the much bigger phone (Pixel 6), and I did get used to it. I wish P7 would have been 6.1" but they did make it smaller. screen and physically. You might give it a try
I'd say the double tap to wake being required is to reduce accidental screen waking.
