I've owned the pixel 3A, 4A, 6A, and now the 7. And I gotta say it's a great daily smartphone, it has pretty much all of the flagship features and performance but with a lot of nice touches especially with AI. My entire family ended up getting the 6A because many months ago there was a deal if you trade in your old pixel phone you can get the 6A for $150 after trade in and a free pair of pixel-A series wireless earbuds, which is a crazy deal.

It have never overheated (compared what I've read that Pixel 7 does), it's fast and the best phone I've ever owned. Better than Xiaomi Phones (i have had many Xiaomi Phones, over the years, my last was POCO F4).
I read somewhere that the only advantage Pixel 7 have over S23 is the camera. That's it, everything else the S23 is much better. And the camera on S23 is already very very good.
As soon as I bought the phone I downloaded Nova Launcher which lets me customized the layout, menu etc and baaam a good looking menu. I didn't really like the Samsung drawer, menu etc, but with Nova launcher it's an easy fix and very easy to use and learn 😁

Amazing phone. Battery will last basically a full day of use with still 20 percent left when I go to bed. A small bug related to the unlocking of the phone was rectified with a recent update. This is as perfect a phone as it can get. And the price tag is absolutely incredible for what I'm getting.

The pixel 7 is my 3rd pixel phone. Pixel 2 XL was my first, loved the finger print scanner on the back. I then upgraded to the pixel 4 about 3 months before the pandemic hit. I missed the finger print scanner on my 2XL. With face unlock not working most of the time at the store due to my face having a mask on, the pixel 4 seemed like a step down at the time. I recently picked up a pixel 7 and I love it. Great battery life, finger print scanner and face unlock. My only complaint is, I wish it was just a touch smaller. The one thing I did really like about my Pixel 4 was the size, if the 7 was the same size it would be perfection.

Software's smooth, cameras are nice. Although, I'm a bit annoyed by the excess of the bokeh effect (for my test) that I get from photos taken from the main sensor with 1x, those get better if I get a bit farther away and use the 2x instead.
The only thing I do not like about the Pixel 7 is the dimensions... both size and weight, I'm not a fan. I'm using it along an iPhone 12 and I miss the 6.1" size (and would love a 5.4" or 5.8" like the iPhone Minis or the iPhone 11 Pros) and the very lightweight the iPhone is.

My Pixel 7 Pro has been absolutely a beast in every department for me and the features that Google Assistant brings to the table, which strangely weren't mentioned much in the video, are game changers. The fact that I don't have to hold my phone against my ear to listen to hold music whenever I have to call a business or that I don't have to deal with any sort of spam anymore paired with Google One VPN, secured me as a long term customer of Pixel phones and I won't be going back to Samsung Galaxy phones anytime soon unless Samsung is able to match Google in those departments. Google cannot afford to rest on their laurels even if on they're on the top of the smartphone game at the moment. They have a clear opportunity to capitalize on their Pixel phones features and software to steal market share from Samsung who's been dominating for so long.

And yeah, I don't see why you'd want to film in 10 bit HDR at all times either, so I'm glad these are off by default. You really think the average person should have 10 bit HDR on for all their videos?

I got the 7 pro, and after a few months I can say that the best pixel phone was the Pixel 5, which is probably my favorite phone ever made. It has a great form factor, light, has a good screen, the cameras do just what I need (zoom, great night shooting), and the battery lasts a decent amount of time.
The 7's battery life is underwhelming, its camera does not seem better in most situations and the size, well this is a personal choice, but I prefer slightly smaller and lighter phones.

I come down from two Motorola phones, which use stock Android with some Motorola specific apps, but no launchers or skins. So the Pixel 7 felt quite similar to me. I must say the total stock Android experience is even better than I imagined though. I love it.
I've had my gripes with the fingerprint sensor not always working though and the camera having some weird colors and fuzziness here and there at certain low light conditions. Not even the cheaper Motorola phones had any of these issues tbh, so that's a bit of a shame though.

The P6 pushed me out of the Android ecosystem and back to Apple because of the modem just dropping connection and not reconnecting. I do wish I would have waited to get the 7 but alas, I'm now fully in the Apple eco and I find it hard to want to leave. It's comfortable here. I have a 13 Mini and like you mentioned, I'm on a 16" M1 Pro MBP and I don't really need much from my smart phone. I honestly miss the Google specific features the most. The OS is negligible but having the AI work for you in such a way was great and is something I sorely miss at times on iPhone with how inept Siri is.

The battery life has been okay..but I switched off 5G and just use LTE and it lasts me the entire day with battery remaining. The pixel 7 has had the least bugs I've experienced in all my pixel phones I've owned in the past. The fingerprint scanner is hit or miss, but combining it with face unlock helps. As always, images are solid but I feel they should have an option to adjust the highlights and shadows. The photos seem a little too HDR for me. Overall it has been the best pixel phone I've had.

Switching from a one plus 8 pro to pixel 7 there was some annoying things such as the fingerprint was lacking behind the 8 pro
And the 120hz downgrade to 90 was noticeable the first while then you get used to a perfect display with the better handling because of the flat display which was one of the first reasons to switch phones to begin with.
Saying that the software experience on the google phone is superior let alone the camera system, Don't get me wrong even in today's standards the one plus 8 pro camera is very capable
The pixel 7 gets even slower wired and wireless charging than the one plus ! And even with that I consider the pixel 7 a better phone in general due to its stability and refined experience.

I was loving pixel 7 until I started seeing how many short comings it has. Yes, it does have the best camera, yes the OS is the best Android, yes all those Google specific features are so handy but it fails in so many areas. 1. It is not the fastest processor. I use to think this doesn't matter because I don't play games but sometimes I can crash the phone or slow it down by opening too much and not having a snapdragon 8 gen 2 does effect camera performance and stops it from reaching bigger heights. 2. While battery life is great it's not the best. I've seen tons of comparisons where it doesn't look like it even ranks in the top 10. 3. The screen specs are not top notch. Yes it's a great oled but I'm sorry it should be 120hz. I do notice the difference even though people say they don't. It's no where near as bad as 60hz but in this day and age it should be in the phone. 4. This phones speakers are trash. My s21 and even my s20 fe have speakers so loud that in side by side I can't even hear the pixel. These speakers are trash.5. if you're going to take out all those things or skimp on them, just throw in all 3 cameras. I shouldn't have to dump $800 for the pro just for some of these features like 120hz and a telephoto lens be a use I don't like the pros size and curved screen. The 7a shouldn't be budget but should have launched alongside them or atleast have a 7 plus with 120hz and telephoto lens and priced right in between the 2 versions we got. I would have gladly paid the difference which is probably another $100. 6 and finally, my most annoying and hated thing about this phone that's making me switch, the charge time. This thing charges so God damn slow even on a 30w or higher charger. It is slowed down on purpose to save the battery long term same as iphone and I hate this. No matter what I do thos phone takes almost 2 hours to charge from dead to 100. In 2023 this is flat out unacceptable and as someone like me who uses my phone all day this thing can last from 8am to 9pm but I've found myself either waiting to go out on weekends till I have atleast 50% charge in 30 minutes or running out and being standard without an Uber. This may be a me problem but the charge time is waaaaay to slow and inconvenient. Bonus: this phone does not work to cast OR use an HDMI to connect to a TV. The only way it will do it is to buy a Chromecast for $60, not to mentioned the charger is not included in the box. Google is becoming greedy like apple.

    • @julesverneinoz
      @julesverneinoz 11 месяцев назад

The charging thing: Mine gets charged on the same charger for my Macbook Pro, which is a 60W AC adapter. In the past I did notice it randomly does this 'we're changing this slower to conserve battery' but not recently. It could be I turned off some setting without noticing or it could be one of the software updates Google did. I never paid attention to it much but one day when I needed to charge multiple devices I noticed the phone was at 97% in around 1 hour. To be fair, I think I charged it from 20%. I'm not sure if it kicks in with that 'we're changing this slower' when you charge from very low battery level.
I'm not sure what phone you had prior to Pixel 7, being a previous Android user, I already have Chromecast and not getting a charger was not an issue as I can use the charger from my previous phone just fine. The included cable was the important one as older phones didn't use USB-C cable yet. I've got so much USB charger, including power boards with USB power, it was good I didn't get another one. My previous Samsung phone was also only able to cast using Chromecast and no HDMI connection (hence why I already have Chromecast, bought from a previous sale when new Chromecast version were released so I bought mine for $10).

Thanks for the video and I agree with almost everything you said except battery life I’ve had my pixel seven now for I guess six months and it’s been a really good phone except better life I would say is just OK. I would say that’s the weakest point of this phone is the battery life. The speech to text has been great. I had a pixel six in the morning wasn’t very good so I have had no connection issues with this phone but the battery life I got to say it’s not great.

Yep I would second that battery life is barely average can maybe get it to last about day and a half at best, sometimes barely a day

the pixel xl was my last time with google and i never went back. Taking the s23 hoping it will age more gracefully than any pixel i could have bought today, even if i have to put up with samsung's way of doing things, but im looking forward to a longer battery life and the ability to actually customise the device.
