      I actually ordered a 7 before canceling that and ordering a 7 Pro, but then I saw some more reviews about the camera and since I'm a camera power user, I opted for the Pro.

      100% accurate. October 2023, Amazon offers the Pixel 7A for $399 for Prime sale. Google discontinues the Pixel 7 as the Pixel 8 is released. I buy my phones completely divorced from my carrier. For me the $300 delta between the 7a and 8 is critical. The current generation of Pixels shifted me away from Apple as the software is next level (real time translation, photo editing, etc.).

    A lot of people dont know but when you increase the hardness of a material ( more scratch resistant) it becomes a lot more brittle, meaning if you drop it it is more likely to shatter. So victus may be more scratch resistant but is probably a lot easier to crack when dropped. Personally since i drop my phone a lot od prefer the 3.

      I’m glad I’m not the only one that made that observation. Not a lot of people mention that.

    Hi Marques,
    Can you please make a video addressing Google's Reliability issues? I know you've praised the pixel phones numerous times and even named them "phone of the year" but google's habit of beta testing on its customers has to stop.
    I bought a Pixel 6 because of your review from day one it has constant bugs and issues. Glitches in the software, cheap GPS sensors making google maps show your location in the middle of the ocean or constantly need calibration, bluetooth issues, dropped calls, USB- C connection issues, and within a year the battery wouldn't consistently charge, or last half a day. A year later I sold it and changed to an S22 and yes I agree with you pixel's are the smartest smartphones and I definetly missed some of the brilliant features but right out of the box the S22 works perfectly, no bugs or glitches.Does the fundamental things not only of a smart phone but of a phone in general. Apple users I have spoken with say the same thing yes siri is dumb but she works properly. everything on the iphone is rock solid, not oh please wait for the update so you can use the basic functions of the product you paid for.
    I feel like its misleading to only praise this company without addressing the fact that their products only work for a short period of time and have massive flaws that they say they will fix only to make things worse or ignore.
    I love your work mate and have been impressed with all you've accomplished in the 10+ years ive been a subscriber. I hope you read this comment.
    PS. Has anyone noticed google search as gone to shit. Like its suddenly become way more sponsored content at the top of the page usually giving wrong information? Looks like they are making a last ditch effort to profit off their search engine before everyone replaces it with ChatGPT or another AI Search Engine

      Have you ever considered that maybe your experience wasn't normal? Pixels 100% have problems but those things simply aren't the experience of the vast majority of users, the pixel user base is just smaller and more filled with tech enthusiasts and therefore the issues seem amplified.

    • @Samsonfs
      @Samsonfs Год назад +3

    Everyone keeps talking about the “same price as the 7” point and I think I know why google has it set up this way.
    The base/pro models are going to be financial based when google is discussing success. They are probably concerned about now much money in sales they made from that model. It’s the better phone slightly, so when the a series comes out at almost the same price, it’s easy to suggest spending money on that phone.
    The a series is a budget phone. It’s meant to be the best value. So google isn’t concerned on its financial earnings. It’s success is validated by units sold. That happens after the price drops right around Black Friday and Christmas. Samsungs S series lineups get announced upon release after the new year. So Google will focus on units sold with the a series because parents might get their kids a cheaper phone (or Vice versa) instead of spending 1100+ on the upcoming Samsung models. The value of the a is used to undercut the sales of the upcoming phones of other brands by enticing everyone with a super low price around the holidays.
    The success of the A will be based on a 2-3 month span from November to January to see the peak number of units sold.

    I got the pixel 7a from a launch deal for 2000 kr danish ($289.90) with the pixel buds A series. I'm selling those for $75 to a friend, because i have the buds pro. Therefore i only spend like $215 on the pixel 7a. I can't complain at all hahaha.

    • @skyblockreborn1379
      @skyblockreborn1379 Год назад +1

      The 7 has been out for longer time, and some sellers might want to just get rid of their stock, enticing people with a discount.
      This will most likely happen to 7a as well. Eventually. (and other phones... and anything besides Apple, really 🤣)
      Slightly related: almost never impulse-buy something until long-term reviews are out and discounts are available - you should use your device for multiple years and you don't want to waste your money or your patience on bugs (google pixel phones are extra susceptible to bugs, sometimes)!

    why you say more like 25w? Not a bad guess lol i have tested it with an actually in line wattage meter and its 28w stable 32w quickest 18w slowest it was rarely actually at 30w over my periods of testing
    32w under load
    28w steady, device sitting locked
    18w slowest seen only with adaptive charging on
    also no often no charging at all 0w i assume something with the adaptive charging try to let it die down a bit before charging again

    • @Samsonfs
      @Samsonfs Год назад

      You are completely wrong. Per Google's own website the 6 and 7 are capped at around 21w and the pro model is 23, neither of them can remotely reach 30w even if your meter says so.

    • @Samsonfs
      @Samsonfs Год назад

      An in line meter is only going to show you how much is being pulled from the wall, actual battery testing has shown that it is physically capped at 21w peak and that's right in the first 15 or so percent.

      @@TheTyisawesomelol. LMAO even. You are objectively wrong and it's been shown repeatedly and by Google themselves. You are pulling higher wattage from the wall but the phones battery itself is hard capped at 21w for the base model and 23 for the pro just like the 6 series.

      @@Samsonfs Idk where you are getting that info but its does not match the results from tests I performed.
