Split screen shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you go into the developer settings (after you enabled it), there's a setting(s) to force any app into split screen. If the app is made half decent it will work quite well. I've been using it for years to watch RUclips and play games. That's also not even on a tablet (Xiaomi Remi Note 10Pro). Definitely give it a try!

A lot of companies misinterpret the iPad’s success by trying to make better hardware at a cheaper price, but the iPad it’s not a hardware product, it’s a software one. No matter how good your hardware is… if you don’t have the software to back it up, everything else is meaningless. That is why people don’t want anything but an iPad (when it comes to tablets).

I think its a tall ask for a product like this to convince people to move away from a device that specifically has features they want while offering none of those features for itself. I'd be interested to see the uptake on products like this outside of the US. Where I live in the UK I know literally nobody with Apple devices save for MAYBE a few with ipads... and those people while they like the tablet, don't love the user experience. However I found someone who bought it, opened it and didn't like it so sold it to me for literally half the price and I love it more than my Pad Pro even though I am an Apple Guy with everything Apple. The point I want to make is that it is about the "Value" you get out of your device or gadget against the "amount you paid for" it. So far, S8 Ultra is my go to Tab as my daily driver, for learning and
and for doing a lot of stuff which Apple still cant do or at least cant do better.

Great review, thanks again! I believe that many higher-end Android tablets can give iPads a run for their money. For instance, I recently switched to the Xiaomi 6 Tablet, which has some impressive specs: 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, a stunning 2880x1800 display with 309ppi, Dolby Vision, 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos, a blue light filter, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, an 8400mAh battery, and a fast 33W charger. Plus, you can get a pen and keyboard for it. I sold my iPad Mini 6 because its battery life had dropped significantly after 2 years, but I still have my iPad Air.( Xiaomi pad Usd 310 , Sold iPad mini for 345 Usd ) When I compare it to the Xiaomi 6, which offers a fantastic display and spatial sound for Netflix, it's clear that Xiaomi's product is a great choice. Dolby Vision is another standout feature. Compared to the iPad Mini 6, it's a no-brainer.
It seems like Apple's ecosystem is starting to show signs of decline, with fewer new innovations. I noticed they mentioned you on September 12th without your knowledge or consent - it's quite absurd, given Apple's reputation.

If you were to use them for the exact same things than it would be a no contest and apple would loose on all metrics with all of their products unless they would cut down their price by atleast 25 to 50% since they are insanely overpriced.

IMO the screen ratio is a huge part of what has always set iPads apart. Widescreen makes sense for a desktop monitor, it makes sense for a laptop even. It makes no sense on a handheld device. Steve jobs had it right way back with the first iPad, “feels like reading a magazine” was and still should be the goal for a handheld large screen media consumption device like this
Even modern iPads have strayed from this and are worse off for it IMO.

I rarely develop something I push to an App store. Something like this with a larger screen would be great for showing these hobby projects off. I have an ipad, but I haven't tried developing much for iOS due to a few of the barriers and licenses involved with that process. I know it's plenty achievable to develop for the ipad if I were to give it a shot, I just find sideloading apps on android to be easier, which lends itself better to my lazy hobbyist approach.

I've been using my Samsung galaxy tab s7 for work since 2020 and became my main device since my laptop broke in 2021. And I must say that even though Android tablets would probably never be as fast and smooth as iPads anytime soon, but what it lacks in those areas, Samsung's currnet tablets are surely functional. They've been consistently updating it and I'm getting even more functionalities and capabilities years after I first got my tablet.
I've tried using iPad before and yes, it's probably still the best tablet out there. But as an Android user, I appreciate the way Samsung has integrated a lot of their own UI into the Android tablet. And as a person who actually got stuck using a tablet as my main working device, I know how much capabilities and potential Android tablets have and can have.
My point is, not becauae iPad is "the best" tablet doesn't mean that Android tablets are not worth the buy. Because if you're an Android user and is more used to and prefer Android OS, now is actually a good time to purchase an Android tablet instead of an iPad. And really the only way to know that Android tablets are good or not is to actually just use it. Not just in a week or a month to review the item, but actively and actually using it to work.

Like for example developers using flutter will probably be able to use the cross platform advantage to improve the android user experience

As a student i couldn’t afford a iPad latest gen hence got myself a iPad Pro 10.5(2017) and still does an awesome job. Coming from the perspective of an android user, it is an awesome app ecosystem tailored specifically for specific needs. I previously used android tablets and none of them can come close to iPad. I’m confident that none of them can make a dent into iPad market. May be Samsung, Mi and Oneplus should come up with some common standard and specific set of apps which should mimic Apple. This would make significant impact on pulling Apple users.

I'm so interested in this tablet. The price point is great, and I just need something bigger than my phone but smaller than a laptop for when I'm lounging on my bed or couch. That being said, I'm gonna wait for this fall, when OnePlus might just announce a foldable phone. That will really be the deciding factor for me.

I'd love to hear more about the pen performance and if there is a solid alternative to Procreate. I'm in a Windows/Samsung home and we are not fond of Apple products. Had a very old school iPad years ago that never felt great (iOS compared to Android) and it just collected dust. We have been thinking about getting a tablet again but all we want it for is art, and we are afraid we'd be forced to go with an iPad pro for best results.

They would “rather have” affordable Android tablets only because they couldn’t easily afford iPads. If those countries had the same buying power as the West, a huge majority of them would be buying iPads/iPhones.

I ordered a Galaxy Tab S8+ a few hours before this video was released. I will never switch to iOS and I know what I'm getting into (my current tablet is a Samsung as well). This OnePlus sounds interesting, but I've been with Samsung a while now as it's been the most trouble-free brand of all the Android brands I've tried (Motorola, Google, Samsung). I continue to keep an eye on OnePlus, and so I do consider them, but I've never taken the leap.
