another tip for everyone getting to their settings. if you swipe down with two fingers you wont have to do a second swipe to get past the notification menu first.
@abarzua21able I've been Samsung exclusive for well over a decade, currently on S22 Ultra. I love Samsung, I just wanted a different Android experience.
Hey, this was a really useful video! I'm still trying to figure out my phone. I just got it a few days ago. What I'm trying to figure out and Google support people weren't able to help me is if I want my phone on do not disturb mode. Is there a way to see when the phone is ringing on the screen right now when it is selected I don't see a call and I want to be able to see if somebody is calling me and decide if I want to answer it. Thanks in advance
I just got a Pixel 9 Pro and this video has helped me so much. Thank you for such a thorough and engaging review. I'm enjoying my new phone even more now. 👍
@@WhatGearlovely, can't wait. My phone arrives early next week. Quick question if you don't mind me asking, how do I get that moving clock you have on your home screen? I ADORE it.

Just making the switch from an iphone 15pro to pixel 9pro and these videos are really useful. I used to have an Android device(s) back in maybe 2009-2010 and after that jumped to iOS because I can’t stand how buggy and broken android was and now - wow, actually they made a leap forward and making me switch back 😀🙏
I just wanted to say a huge thanks for the vid, it's spot on! It's the most comprehensive one I've seen about the Pixel 9. As soon as I get my Pixel, I'm going to set up all the points you mentioned, one by one, just the way I like it. Of course, I've subscribed!!!
Another useful tip is to star all of your family and friends within contacts. Then under do not disturb settings go to people and opt for starred contacts can interrupt. I then live with do not disturb on. My phone then only makes a noise for those starred contacts.
This is a great tip but isn't specific to only Pixel 9 or other phones. I've used the same method on all Android phones for the last 10 years and after swapping devices, the next device will remember who was starred previously. I've used Samsung, OnePlus, Sony, Asus and Google phones and it works on all of them. It's not a Pixel-only opinion but a good one nonetheless.
Wow - awesome video. Switched to this phone after having an iPhone the past 18 months (Galaxy before that). This video assured me I made the right decision. Thanks for sharing!!
I found this video is extremely useful. So much information that I found myself pausing it and coming back to it the first two days of ownership of my 9 Pro XL. Thank you

Wow I've been a long time Android user, back to the Nexus line (since Nexus S). The 9 Pro XL is my 7th Android phone, yet I've learned many things thanks to your video. Thank you
You should show the turn animation scale to 0.5 all three of them which are in the developer mode for more quicker and beautiful respond, seriously speeds up the phone. Other than that it was a great video 👏👏👏👍
Thanks, I'm a long long time user of pixels (since the 2, and Nexus's before that!) and I even found a thing or two in the vid that I didn't know about
You don't need to open Google Wallet to pay with your phone. The phone only needs to be unlocked. I pay with my phone all the time and I never open Google Wallet, so I don't understand the need for the shortcut you described.
I thought the same thing, but being able to quickly access your wallet gives you options to access other cards that you have stored there. If you're only using it for a payment card, then it makes sense to just unlock tap pay
26:21 Thank you so much for reminding me that we can tap on the back! I hate the way we need to capture screenshots on the 9 XL and setting the double tap on the back to capture one is a game changer.
Hey, do you know if this still works with a case on the phone? I supposed not? The XL is way too big for me to confortably use the normal screenshot method.
@@fms2754 It should work, works on my 7 pro. Might depend on the thickness of the case. It doesn't work 100 percent of the time. I usually restart when I notice it's not responding to the double tap.
