Thank you so much, the Developer Options unlock and .5x multiplier is such an awesome tweak. I also loved the idea of adding multiple fingerprints and skipping the tap to unlock with face. I'll definitely be enjoying my 7 a little more now!
That was actually a ton of really helpful stuff that was not all basic intuitive settings like other "tips" videos
You can bring up the shutdown menu by pressing power+volume up. The assistant works through the lockscreen for some things and it's useful to use the button if you don't want to say "hey google".
Thanks for speaking quickly and totally about the video topic.. Can't stand youtubers that chat about they life and family just trying to make the video longer. You are one of the few I have subscribed to recently.. Well done!
Thanks, I’m buying the 7 Pro tomorrow for the dictation accuracy and the camera as well as the larger size is right for me. This video will get me off to a good start!
Just got the Pixal 7 - this was SO helpful!!! Thank you, thank you!
Just got my Pixel 7 Pro couple days ago. Thank you so much for this video, I have learned so many hidden features that are really useful for my daily use
Thanks a lot, I just got my pixel 7 and this video helped me a great deal to get started.
Thank you!!! This is worth it for the knowledge of the screen protector mode itself. That's made it so easy for me to open my phone. I've been having a very difficult time with my screen protector and finger pint open.
That's a great list. That cured several of my complaints about my new phone. You missed "turn off the stupid Amber alerts that either wake you in the middle of the night with a siren or (when appropriately timed) require you to look at your phone while you're driving."
Useful tip! If you mainly use one finger for unlocking, register it twice, but the second time get all of the corners of your fingers. That means when you go to unlock it, there is less chance of it not registering! c: Hope this helps 😆
Thank you for your very informative video. My P5a bricked after latest update and traded it in for a 7. Most of these i do already . I also like to install Nova Launcher to
Love your instruction videos man!
Yet again, I learn new things from you about my Pixel 7 👍🏼
Amazing video! Very helpful. Really well done! Thanks so much
Since buying my G1 in 2008, this is the most useful phone video I've ever seen. Thank you.
Very unique and helpful features to consider turning on! Made use of a lot of them, thank you very much!
Thanks Alex ! Excellent info 👍
This is great! I used every one of these tips.
Wow thank you that was so helpful!
Great Tips. Activated many of them. Happy to have a Google Pixel 7 Pro.
This was great, thank you so much!!!
great great tips!! especially app grid, i always fix that.
That was really helpful. Thank you
We are so similar in our approaches 😊
I just ordered a new phone and due to it being a peak season here i need to wait for 4 days, i was thinking of fimilarizing myself with the settings and ur video helps a lot. These are exactly 5he things i do on a new phone.
Some of those tips were really good, especially the do not disturb exceptions, that's awesome
Great video and really helpful. Maybe advice for heavy phones! This phone is really heavy... My 3 day old fell off the magnetic dashboard accessory yesterday... Fell between the crack of the seat and console... Hit a seat rail and screen cracked... With scream saver... Super drag... But great phone and video!!!
Brilliant "Power User" tutorial, I was pleasantly surprised.
What an awesome video!!
Thanks for sharing.
Very useful
👍👍👍👍👍
Great recommendations, I turned on most of them that you recommended.
After being an iPhone user for several years, I've forgotten about the developer mode and the animations settings. Thanks for this tip!
Very good. Thks! Wich phone or iPhone would you buy with pictures as main criteria of choice? Thks.
Very useful. How did you make to remove the hour and meteo widget on the top left of the screen ? And how to put the google bar in black like you ? Thanks.
Great Video !! Big thank you!!
Great information! Many things I knew about but some things I didn't and will use now.
Glad I could help!
Do you have another video where you walk through some of the different customizable options that may be confusing to a new user.
Thanks, good stuff in there
During "grid" you didn't mention that 5x5 gives the unique last used app icon in the bottom right which I find really useful to hop back into things.
You can actually have as many of these as you like, just drag the existing icons off the dock and a suggested one will appear.
this will actually help me! thanks
One other thing I do with DND is set the duration to 2 hours so when I set it in Quick Settings it'll automatically turn off after that time. Two hours is optimum for most things I do and it won't interfere with Night Time mode or any other schedule.
Super helpful thanks
Thanks for the useful info. Is there a way to turn on the hangup sound when using Bluetooth headphones? If a call drops I don't know and end up talking to myself.
I like to use the accessible "quick menu" but I don't like the accessible shortcut that attached to the side of the screen. It there away to create a different shortcut or other means to open the accessible menu. The accessible menu has options to access the power choices, sound choices, brightness, lock screen, etc.
I've watched several of these now and this one is definitely the most useful. Most are just an insult to everyone's intelligence. Thanks for making this!
awesome video, thanks!
Thank you, Alex. I will watch your demonstration again when I get the Pixel 7 this week.
I realize I'm a few months behind but at 5:47 when you tap on the screen showing the AOD feature, how do you get that little camera light to come on? I just recently got the Pixel 7 Pro and there is no notification LED visible anywhere when I get a message/notification? I've seen people say you get to get an APP and such but that is kind of disappointing if true for a phone of this cost? Is there a setting I've over looked for the feature or did you download and APP for that as well?
I did nearly all of these, aside from the back 'double tap' which I am assuming will not work with a Spigen armour case! Great content, better than the big RUclipsrs, keep it up
The double tap works for me with the Spigen tough case
You'd be surprised, it works for me and I have a Dbrand Grip case. Just have to tap pretty firmly.
It doesn't have to be face down to work. You can change the sensitivity in the settings. I find it is most sensitive if I tap near the light, but maybe it's just my imagination.
Also the screen has to be on to use the double tap. So you have to tap the front to wake ythe screen, then the back to turn on the flashlight.
I'm still on the pixel 6 but the response speed thing is something that's been bugging me. I'm so glad I saw that. I also turned off the Google Assistant I never use it and it bugs me if I ever try to use that button for power. Thanks for the tips.
do you have a video about customising the google pixel 7 pro and the customisation settings that a new google pixel user may be confused by? very useful video thank you
These are the exact things I do with new phones with the exception of DND which I don't use that often.
For the pixel I really recommend people to configure bedtime mode.
Also, on my pixel 7, reducing animation time to half actually doesn't look that good. for the first time I actually like the animations. They are just well done. Reducing them to 0.5 makes it so fast that animations are just rushing through. Doesn't feel the same.
.
I would like an 0.75 or something.. 0.5 for me the 'fast' animation is just to twitchy and mess up the ui experience more than 1.0 speed, but 1.0 is a bit slow for my taste.😀 I really dont get why there is x10 option.(try it) Who in the world, likes to waste to 4 or 5 seconds of animation every time on every app on every ui swipe....
@@LooNeYlv my oneplus 6t had default at 0.7
Guess that was part of how op used to be snappy. In the good old days of OOS.
Definitely going to try x10
@@LooNeYlv Something to remember. While people use these options to speed animations up for general use. These are at the end of the day still dev options so thats why x10, etc exist.
I dont have a screen resolution option on my 7, is that only on 7Pro?
Thank you for the video , i just order my one
Very helpful, but one suggestion, could you slow down a bit so it would be easier to set my phone while following your movements? I made most of the changes to my 7 model. The only one not available on the standard 7 was being able to change the resolution as it was not listed on that screen.
You can adjust youtube playback speed to slow it down yourself.
Very helpful.👍
DND feature with exceptions and repeat callers is just awesome.
the double tap flashlight is amazing. yes it does not work when screen is blank, but it works when you wake the phone with one tap (still locked) , so it still amazing :)
They simple could make hold power button for flash light
@@darkhan19 why and that’s to turn off the phone
@@swagboss10000 while the lock screen, if the screen is on then it should turn off
Is there also some kind of privacy settings? Like on iOS you want to disable random apps from tracking you, etc.
Thanks!
Recently I bought Pixel 7 and I love it. But I don't see screen resolution option under Display settings to change screen resolution.
And Thank you for uploding the video 😀.
QHD only available on p7 pro
Most important of all: Disable 5G. You get noticeable better battery life and notice no slower internet whatsoever
Yes, I did that now it is somewhat better. The mobile data issue is something google need to fix asap.
Mine will be here Monday. How do you turn it off?
Is 5G really that bad? I'm on Google Fi and just upgraded from the Pixel 5 to the 7 but I never noticed my Pixel 5 struggling.
What's the point disabling 5g in 5g phone?Unless you are living somewhere where 5g will arrive in 2050 use technology when available.
@@Onionfeast there's no difference from 5g to 4g specially for using a phone
Great video!
Any help on getting it to show song meta data over Bluetooth connection in the car? Android auto works fine but Bluetooth gives no info
At time 5:12 is that high resolution feature only for the pro
How did you remove the Hour widget on the Homescreen?
is there a way to remove the date on the upper left corner on the home screen?
Thanks Alex for this useful video. Mine's coming soon & I am looking to shift away from Nova to the stock Pixel launcher. Couple of questions: 1) will the fingerprint sensor work better if you register your same finger multiple times? 2) can you install apps which give you more options for the AOD or is that blocked? I find the white AOD quite bland.
I'm glad you brought that up. I always add my main finger twice so that there is more data for the phone to work with. Keep in mind that while this will reduce the amount of errors reading your finger, it won't actually make the sensor any faster, but I still think it's worth adding the same finger twice. As far as AOD, I don't typically use any, but there are a few apps on the app store you can check out like Always On: Edge Music Lighting (it has an AOD option within the app)
@@TechnicallyAlex thanks! Could you give us an update on the SOT and warming/heating issues as there are so many conflicting reports on the same?
Pixel 7
Multiply finger prints..
I have added prints for WHEN i have washed my hands as it wont recognize me.
NOT the best fingerprint reader..
The old on from my pixel 2XL are ALOT better.
@@Perra1901 I am not having any issues with it, washed hands or not. I was expecting it to be worse, since I've read comments like yours on it. I also have a plastic screen protector on it and don't even need the augmented sensibility. Go figure...
1:28 1:29 1:31
How do you get that pure black theme Or what they call pitch black? Me it's gray
What other cool features can you change within the developer options?
Does the quick-tap work wiht a case?
First day having the pro 7 not impressed with the battery life
Any advice
Pervious phone was 21 plus
@technicallyalex Can we change the size of quick setting icons? If yes, do you know how?
I don't like these huge rectangular quick setting icons. They take up so much space and we get only four options at once.
I 100% agree with you, I miss on android 12 you could see so many more, but unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it today.. maybe google will allow us to customize them in the future.
Exellent video 👍🤩
I also like "Flip to shhh" under gestures to have temp light DND
Great tips
Please. Is battery good how many hours screen on give you and how many battery it lose in stand by ?
1 step ..install a custom rom for modded app support........they deactivated the support for 32 bits aps.....not eliminated....stag os is tested by me and runs good
thank you
So helpful
Funnily enough, I didn't do the "always awake". I did the "display text on lock screen" option. I give myself little mssgs now.
How do you change the lockscreen clock?
Thanks for the tips! I have a question: if we alter the animation speed (in the Developer Options) do we impact the battery usage?
technically makes your battery last longer
Nope
Lol I didn't know about the skip lock touch after the face unlock thing, and I consider myself a power user. haha
I bought a pixel 7 two weeks ago. There was nothing new on your video but you covered every important aspect. To be honest with you, I set up my new phones exactly the way you showed. That's interesting
4:55 People who dont use screen protectors are using phone on a yearly(or less) basis. People who are using a phone for 2, 3 or 4+ years, screen protector is a must have, so the phones screen would survive this longevity. The fancy gorilla glass still only works in ads or synthetic lab tests, in real world simple and innocent money coin or a random paper clip in the same pocket will leave it's mark and scratch the screen. 😁
I used my last phone for more than 3 years. Not a single day with a screen protector. All it really suffered were some minor micro scratches that you'd have to look for under direct light. It's not a matter of must, it's a matter of how one treats their phone. Some are really careful at all times, other just treat it like a TV remote.
The major thing I like about android, is customizable to your liking.
Pls include me to the pixel 7 pro starting to hate this phone. Flashback: When I started to play with the phone, I was able to scroll from down to up all the screen contents and it seemed an amazing phone. Moving forward, I started to create app folders where I grouped all my media apps like Gmail, Whatsapp, Viber, Messages etc. Move folders like, music playing app... Amazon Music, YT Music, Stingray, and other folders but leaving one spot for the current app I am using. Somehow after these tinkering, suddenly the home icon to move up the screen and the top one to move down did not work anymore. What a nightmare that I was thinking of shelving this phone and get back to my old but reliable LG V30. That happened to my own Pixel and I still have to work with my wife's Pixel which so far has been doing the scrolling but my learning process of how to work on own Pixel to mirror the steps on my wife's Pixel is not feasible. Those You Tube tutorial like yours is of no use for me currently because of my Pixel's inability to scroll on the screen. Any easy to follow instructions pls with the note that I could not make the moving up or down of the screen which seems to be like an uncooperative horse moving to its stable. Thanks.
Its a nice touch by you to think of people who you have bad eyesight
Just received my Pixel 7 Pro during the last 5 mins, to replace my Huawei P20 that I have had for 5 years,so naturally I am rather nervous on setting up and transferring all my photos, contacts etc. I have been Y.T videos on how to set up and transfer, wish me luck out there from a 71 year old😂.
I love the screen protector mode. I havent even put my protector on in the three months I've had it but man oh man do i love ths responsiveness.
I have no display resolution setting in that spot??
Got the 7 for $20 with the Black Friday deal. This is an exceptional phone for the price. If you only have $600 and are an android users this phone is a no brainer.
Does anyone know how to make the home screen have the "INFINITE SCROLL" option?
How can we get that Clock? I like them big numbers.
Very first thing you should do on any new phone is set your emergency contacts. Settings > Safety and Emergency. Imagine your loved one collapses in a supermarket and gets rushed to hospital. Emergency staff have no way to contact you if they didn’t configure this.
Thanks for the video. I'm getting a two tone beep sound whenever I move my phone while watching a video or on a call. It's very annoying. It's not a notification. Its driving me crazy!!!
10 out of 10 tysm
Just got the 7, and on the home screen the Apps on the last row appear to be pinned (like a frequently used or last used list). Can that be removed? Ty 🙏
this video was amazing but actually i still have problem with camera's clarity! it's not satisfying for me at all! does it have any hidden setting or there's no hope and all the "pixel 7pro is better than anything "is lie?
I just got a pixel 7 I am having a issue with my home screen saver changeing on it's own every so often.I can't figure it out
