I got the 7 Pro yesterday to upgrade from my 6 Pro. I had so many issues with the 6 Pro that I was going to upgrade regardless of any significant upgrades. In my 24 hours of testing the battery life is better, front facing camera is better, it's more responsive and snappier, it charges wirelessly and wired pretty decently for me now and is overall cooler when pushing it hard with a bunch of apps running. I fell in love with the Pixel experience back with the 3a XL. I jumped ship with the Samsung S21 Ultra in 2021 and although the phone was nice it was not better than the cohesive Pixel experience for me so I jumped on the 6 Pro on launch day. It's a great phone and for those who just need a decent overall phone and want to stick to Android a 7 is hands down a steal at $599.
Agreed 👌 Also had the 6 Pro. Just picked up the 7 Pro. Feels great so far. Camera is money.
Google still needs to improve focus peeking during video rec tho.

@@yourfaceistube Honestly the camera on the 6Pro is still great and some reviews even point out the 4x telefocus camera is surprisingly better than the one on the 7Pro🤔🤔 when I read that I gave up on upgrading.

As someone who is planning to upgrade from the 4a 5G one of my favourite phones, I really appreciate your pixel phones coverage.
I went from the 5a and it felt like a big upgrade. You're definitely going to notice a huge difference if you have the 4a 5G.

One of the best videos I've seen on your channel, love the interaction with your film crew and you guys have incredible talent to make the technology reviews mixed in with some funny skits in the video. As far as the Pixel 7 goes, it's a nice looking phone but I'm having a hard time letting go of my Pixel 3a XL. It comes with the 3.5 mm jack
No 3.5 mm jack is the biggest flaw of the Pixel 7 imo. I still use my iPod classic for this exact reason.
That intro.....earned the video a like on its own. That was cute. I actually feel the iphone 14 has more contrast than the pixel right now causing it to lose quite a bit of shadow detail.
Pixel battery gets better once it learns usage patterns
one think that is huge for me with the pixel 7 pro are the small tweaks to the design to make it both look better and more functional.
-it is a bit shorter than the 6pro which makes the camera visor on the look higher on the back of the phone which I like a lot.
- the camera housing is more cohesive with the frame now that it is alu instead of glass makes the look a bit more premium imo
-the sidesof the screen has a gentler curve a la s22 ultra.
these are little things the made me hold back on the pixel 6. I am excited to try the 7 to see how I like it
All that plus the flat screen for me again. I dislike the curved edge. Its hard to find a good glass screen.
@@1987apa I don't use glass screen protectors but I do prefer flat screens over curved ones
as an ios user private-wise and an android user business-wise, i'm impressed by functions like call screening, like you said man: "functions for the every day person" Many improvements on devices lately, just help out a niece fraction of the user base: photographers, musicans... but that functions really help a broad variety of users and i like that perspective a lot, build a device for the everyday person not for specific user share. And off topic but: your kid is freaking adorable :3

Pretty good camera? Not in my experience. It's amazing. Better than the 6 Pro, which was considerably better than the disappointing 14 Pro.
I already ordered mine. I haven't used a Pixel since version 3, which was disappointing so I'm anxious to see how this works out. The trade value of my s21 Ultra was enough to almost cover the cost of the Pro.

@@SofaKingA I just really like the Pixel/Android experience a little more than the overlayed intrusions on the Samsung. Also, I love the Pixel photography.
And at this point with my Samsung being not new, the refresh gives me a couple extra years of life of the device for just a couple hundred dollars.
So far, I love it.
Can u do the trade in through online then delivery? I was thinking to do it at the store so I can also get the pixel 7 pro the same day, but I don't wanna be paying extra to get the phone case and screen protector. I'll probably just tell them that I just wanted to get the phone and charger 🤔
Great review I just left Android after 10 years for Apple ecosystem but top 3 are great IPhone, Google, Samsung

I’m glad you pointed out the customization point. Whenever I discuss why I used apple an android user always brings up “customization”. I always ask them if they customize their phone and they always say no. I’m like your biggest argument for android is something you don’t use?

The black case on the white device/chrome frame looks really good. Much better compared to the glossy obsidian.

See that’s a cool thing about android you can have nothing on your front screen or have it loaded with apps and widgets unlike iOS. I love having nothing
Scrolling on this thing sucks, it's very stiff and inconsistent and you have to over emphasize you swipes and flicks to make the screen move faster. The build quality and hand feel feels like a McDonald's toy, it's just very cheap feeling and makes a hollow noise and feel when I tap the screen. Also the speakers sound low quality, it's muffled and has little sound range. Not really impressed with the cameras either, low light shots look super ugly and over sharpened and bright pictures look washed out with glare. Also there's little to no customization.
My OnePlus 7 pro was better but the trade in deal and the appearance of the phone made me want to get it. Might return it soon.
Also the pixel buds pro don't get that loud and I don't hear alot of instruments or sounds that I used to hear with my other buds.
All in all it's been disappointing. It all feels like a low-mid range product that's being disguised and marketed as a high tier flagship

Like round watches. Since I'm an older dude, square watches were for women back in the day so the Apple watch I wear daily still throws me off. This new Pixel and Google watch is really good from the reviews.

I'm getting my Pixel 7 Pro on Monday. But I gotta admit that based on the reviews I've seen so far, that cinematic videos look pretty ugly. I'm not planning on ever using that feature.

The 7 Pro is the first Pixel I am interested in. None of the other Pixels made me want one. I don't want a phone right now, but I will keep an eye on a Pixel in the future.
- It's a Pixel so it will have GrapheneOS support.
- The cameras have truly impressive specs.
- AI benchmarks are off the charts.
- Battery life is great
- Cellular reception problems are hopefully fixed? I live in an area that doesn't have 5G, and the reports of poor or no signals are what kept me from buying a Pixel 6.
I can confirm cellular and WiFi reception is HUGELY improved on the 7 Pro. I live in central London and always have good signal but on my 6 Pro there were areas in my basement gym that I would have no signal and rely on the free WiFi which regularly dropped out. Now on my 7 Pro I actually get 4G in the basement where before I had no reception and the WiFi didn't drop out once!
I think this will not only contribute to better performance but considerably reduce standby battery drain as it won't be hunting for a better reception all the time.
Forgot to add: Gaming benchmarks are actually quite bad because the GPU is underpowered. This may or may not be a problem for you. I myself am not a gamer.

It’s like when you spend a lot of money for an Android device, I still feel pixel it’s not worth it. We can give a shot for Galaxy s22 ultra for a little extra money and get the premium experience. Features are good in a way but we don’t keep using them every single day

How will you know if things change on your end? You use an iPhone.
All the phones you use look like they've just been setup. You probably need to use the phone for a bit longer for them to learn your usage patterns. Even iPhones. My 14 pro had Terrible battery life for the first week (it's not great now but it's better).
My suggestion: use the phones for a week before you film the video.
Kudos for the day in the life review, but let's address the elephant in the room: Austin is getting BIG BIG! Time is moving WAAAAY too fast!

The scrolling isn't smooth and it's very stiff and inconsistent, I've noticed this as well. Seems to be a common issue with this phone

I returned my 7 Pro after 2 days with it. Battery life was the worst I’ve seen on a phone in a while. Bluetooth also kept disconnecting from my car multiple times every time I was driving. My iPhone never did that so definitely an issue with the phone itself
