      @@aaakmm1785 when compared to the POCO F1 I had for around 3.5 years, the call quality is better, although it isn't a reason to buy the phone, unless you have really terrible call quality on your current phone, and the signal strength was pretty good, I'd say about the same, besides it takes about 10 seconds to switch from cellular internet to wifi (if you just always leave both of them on like I do), which isn't a huge deal, but can be annoying sometimes.

    • @baruchratz512
      @baruchratz512 Год назад

      @@aaakmm1785 other considerations can be the great software (I haven't encountered any bugs so far in 2 weeks), the amazing AI, voice assistant, camera and performance when it comes to positives, and the negatives are the display which is sub par for the price point, some heating issues with sustained high performance (wasn't a big issue for me yet, but I didn't really push the phone, all I did was some light gaming, short camera sessions, and some RUclips).
      Battery life is good enough for me, I usually end my days with around 30%, after about 6-7 hours of light usage screen on time, and 16 hours of total usage (I have the always on display turned on, and I rarely have battery saver on).

    @Vasharan Год назад +6

    Hi Sam, thanks for the review, and it does a good job of highlighting the hardware (screen, camera, battery life) of the phone, but like most other Pixel 7 reviewer out there, you leave off a lot of the software and service integration that really defines the 'Pixel' experience. Features like Direct My Call, Call Screening, Live Transcription, Now Playing, Personal Safety, Google Assistant, Google, Lens, Google Translate, Night Shot (which is as much software as it is hardware on Pixel Phones) really make the Pixel 7 series feel very seamless and full-featured to use.
    Now many of these features are also available on competing Android phones, but they are not as well integrated, and without the TPUs on the Tensor 2 SoC, ay not be as fast or as accurate, so it would have been really interesting to see what Google does better than its competitors and which features are exclusive to the Pixel (off the top of my head, Now Playing, Photo Unblur, Direct My Call, Call Screening). It's also worth noting some of the limitations of Google's implementations, your installing Nova is pretty telling that the Pixel Launcher has fairly limited customization (which is something I personally don't mind, as I rarely customize my phone much beyond OEM presets), but this is something many users might want to know about (especially the new Gestures, which is very polarizing, it seems).
    Phones aren't just hardware these days, the software and combined user experience define how fully featured they are, and I think phone reviews should address the strengths and differences between phones in this area as well, especially since reviewers have access to many different phones and are able to compare many more vendors than typical end users will.

    •Fingerprint scanner lag

Even if i lock focus and hold it very very still. They come out very unfocused and weird. Even in decent light im having trouble, also keeps trying to go into macro mode even tho I'm not close to anything. It also keeps losing focus. And most photos really aren't that sharp. @@real-cr3qo to me, I have also noticed that when I used the zoom 2x or 5x, it doesn't focus at all. I came from a Note 10+. Honestly, besides the camera and some other features, it's missing a ton of custom features my three old phone has. Screen feels hollow when tapping in places, can't hide camera cutout on an app by app basis like my old phone, making games look wonky. Notification shade is big and bulky with the big bubbles, would love to change sizes. The Pixel Launcher is trash compared to the samsung one so I had to get Nova Launcher which I used on previous phones in order to make folders and actually make my home screen usable, it really is far superior. Very slow charging speed (23w) compared to my three year old device as well which is terrible. No option to protect battery at 85%. I can go on and on about how my three year old phone outshines this new Pixel. So much so that I'm on the fence about selling it and going with my old device.
