Another great video. We're going to attempt 4 PTZs over OBS and while I was trying to avoid an additional switcher due to desktop space limitations I've been considering this. I really like the flexibility of it. I would pick the XL for the cost. It's $200 at the lowest point now, but it jumps between that and $250. I'll let it drop before I pick it up and give it a try. That'll give me a few weeks to setup my scenes in OBS too.

I've found this to be an excellent way to stream services for a small church with only one camera. PTZ optics has put out a list of http based camera commands that I've incorporated directly into the Streamdeck instead of using the PTZ plugin. I have presets as separate buttons from scenes, so I can move the camera without changing the OBS scene. I have three main scenes that I use, and I then can position the camera depending on what I want it to see within the scene (pulpit, choir, or organist, to name a few). This way I can overlay camera video onto lyrics or liturgy, amongst many other uses. The camera needs a static IP address in order for this to work.

Your channel as been a great resource for me as I have recently taken over the Livestream coordinator role of my church. Based on your strong recommendation, we are using 3 Fomako PTZ NDI cameras and the Fomako NDI controller. So far we have been very happy with this setup. Do you know if I should be able to use the OBS PTZ plugin to control these cameras and can I control them remotely if I can VPN into my chruch's network? Thank you for all the wonderful information you have shared on your channel.

So the box will work with any camera or other video source that supports NDI or NDI HX. So look for that. Most PTZ cameras have NDI, but not all.
You may want to check out my other video on using NDI with OBS, it explains how that works. ruclips.net/video/tG_35ilueqA/видео.html

Do you know a Switch for USB Webcams.
I have the problem. I use 3 monitors. 1x27 inch left middle 32 inch right 27 in monitor.
When I look to the left or the right monitor my eyes are not looking into the camera.
I would lile to place 3 USB Webcams and then switch the cameras when I look in the repective monitor so that the person on the videocall always thinks that I am looking into his eyes.
Do you have any recommandation what to use?

What are trade-offs for using this method over a hardware switcher?

    • @Foundery

Biggest thing is cost. OBS is free and the Stream Deck is inexpensive. So this is a bargain option. Personally I like hardware switching more, even a basic ATEM Mini, but for some that's out of budget.
