Excellent video thank you. I do zoom calls for work and I have a stream deck that’s been sitting in the box for four months. Haven’t even opened it.

Thanks Joe! Hope it gets you to use it more. One of my favorite ways to use it is with my Spotify

This ideas are great, I do think that global commands are better you just need to make sure that they are unique keyboard commands inside of Zoom, for example for switching camera angels instead of the regular command inside of Zoom you should change it to something like: “ctrl + cmd + alt + shift + n” this way you know this command is unique and since you will be using your stream deck it doesn’t matter how many keystrokes your custom command uses since the steam deck turns it into just one keypress. Using Zoom this way you can add any command to your stream deck and not have to focus on the zoom window every time you need to use that command.

Can you switch your mic input and camera input with the push of a button on the stream deck in zoom? thank you!

You can only create a keyboard shortcut to advance to the next camera option in your preferences. The easy solution is to use Ecamm Live or OBS. You can create scenes that are assigned to a button on the stream deck and for each scene, you can customize what is is shown on screen and what audio source is being used. It’s also referred to as a virtual camera.

Hey! Thanks for the video. I am having great success using Zoom with prospects. Even without turning on my video but now that I have my Excel presentation fine tuned I am ready for video. I use Excel live with prospects based upon several data points which they share w me on the call. The monitor I use is 45 inch wide. Every once in awhile a prospect will say it is too small and the can’t see it. How could I use Elegato to make my presentation better and have more eye contact. Any thoughts on how I should mix up the screen sharing w video? Any other guidance would be appreciated.

I would look at using a program such as Ecamm Live or OBS to create your own output to the zoom call. Also known as a virtual camera, these softwares allow you to create your own layout sharing apps, screens and cameras.
Another option might be to get a second monitor. Have your Excel presentation full screen and share that screen.
For better eye contact I recommend the Plexicam for the camera mount.

Nice Zoom setup! Do you find there are any particular pros or cons to using the Zoom Plugin: Custom Shortcuts (where, as you demonstrate, you must type in the keys pressed) over the System: Hot Keys (which record your keypresses) I saw you demo in another video?

Thanks Andrew! I haven’t seen any difference between the 2 ways to program hot keys. Seems like it is user preference.

If you're still having trouble please reach out, I'd be happy to get you setup

Thank you for the video. If I hit record in the stream deck while on a zoom call will the audience know it is being recorded? Will th stream deck record separate tracks including me and the person I am interviewing ?

I don't believe they would as you are only recording the Ecamm inputs (your camera, screen, microphone, etc). I'm not sure it would record what is on the Zoom ffed. Might need to do a quick test

if anyone is here in 2024, there is no more Zoom plugin so none of this works anymore. (there is an icon set but no plugin)
