You get a like just for that FX bro 4:39
Scott just lost his son. And the woman he had a child with, left. Try doing an interview right after all that.
And she got personal information that was none of her business. Where's HIPAA when you need it 😅
Yeah I was coming in here to show some empathy for Scott for this reason. He is right to be annoyed, there are humans in his home being rude about his glasses, and pushing for more and more...he gives and sacrifices so much already and Trish doesn't respect a very clear boundary demanding he gives even more. Was his outrage the 'smart political move' no, but it is understandable (justifiable as far as I'm concerned) and worthy of a little regard. The only mistake he made, in my opinion, was taking part in this interview when his family just fell apart.
@@eldritchbaobun9976 Just wanted to say that Trish's attitude and personality here in this series is a pretty-perfect adaptation of her comic book counterpart. Like the X-Men, she also wants to work towards human-mutant coexistence, but her "professionalism" as a reporter, well... let's just say she prioritises reporting on the truth over being empathetic towards the subjects of her reporting. That was why Beast broke up with her in the comics, which I'm sure is gonna happen in the TV series sooner or later.
Also, it might just be me, but this interview with Scott reminds me of that time RDJ walked out of an interview for a movie that he's in because the interviewer was bringing up rude questions about his personal life that had nothing to do with the movie. In both cases, I feel like both of these guys who walked out did the right thing.
What we should be focusing on isn't that Scott got pissed off when Trish brought up the subject of his child. We should be thinking about where Trish was going with that line of questioning. Remember, she doesn't know that Scott's child is gone and that the reason Scott was intentionally avoiding the subject. So when she asked "Why lie?", she was probably assuming that Scott was lying because he didn't want to put them in a bad light, knowing that he did order Rogue to forcefully absorb the doctor's memories. If Scott had kept quiet, the follow-up question would probably be something along the lines of "Do you really think it's the right thing to do to use your special abilities to get your way when someone else refuses to help you, no matter how urgent the situation is?."
Honestly, I imagine Scott's response would have been the same. "Because you're normal." That doctor would never have turned away a human patient, but just because mutants were born with special abilities, they're automatically considered dangerous and feared by normal people with no powers. That's why Scott implied that Trish would never understand what they were going through with that response.
Edit: Jut wanted to say that now that ep7 is out, I guess I was pretty spot on with Beast and Trish's storyline after the conversation that they had in Genosha. Thought the writers would wait until those 2 are an item, though, but it was the right timing to do that.
Scott's not wrong tho. I completely understand his point in how irritating it is the condescending ally. The "ally" who is giving us a "chance" to prove we are worthy of being alive.... I mean....................
Yeah, he could have been more diplomatic, but there is what Jean said: he was literally grieving his son. And not wrong in what he said. So, I give him this one.
scott just lost his son while feeling helpless, lost the mother of his son too and everything he knew just came crashing down and now he has to grapple with all of that while being interviewed with so much bias and even PERSONAL information leaked about their struggles.
all of that and still the interviewer made it feel like the mutants have to earn their place in the world and be this perfect people just to have a shot of being accepted. that's a lot to tackle on the spot in an interview. no one is immune to emotions
with everything that is shown so far even if u didn't watch the pervious show or know the comics, scott has been a good leader who keeps everyone in proper place, he deserves a proper shot at being the leader, he fumbles the bag one time and now he gets blamed while handling all his problems? sucks for him man
Dude ur take on Scott is way left field. He lost his damn son and out his life at risks over and over for people who aren’t thankful- he also just lost his baby momma so yeah he’s justified in his reaction. It’s totally understandable. I honestly don’t get ur reaction to him considering his circumstances….
I do agree that a psychic affair and keeping it hidden for a month and kissing in their minds is crossing limits and qualifies as cheating. He’s wrong for that.
Bro became the biggest red flag with his Scott take. 😂
💯
Jean was called Marvel Girl back in the 60's and 70s. Then she became the Phoenix. Then she died, and she was Marvel Girl again when she came back. Then in the early 90s (probably because she was pushing 30 and it was weird to call her a girl), she was just Jean Grey.
Then around the mid-90s, she started calling herself Phoenix again, even though she wasn't connected to the Phoenix Force anymore. It was just a cool codename for her.
Scott wasn't trying to spine anything on Jean he was asking legitimate questions. Jean remembers being in love with Scott but does she actually still feel it, there's a difference.
Welcome to heartache. Rogue is about to go ham, and I can't wait.
16:43 Imagine being a time traveler, trying to stop the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people...but all you can do is tell your mother you're sorry, but you failed.
We know time travel tech is tricky, so poor dude knows the event but can't figure out the timing. It's such a thread the needle kind of situation.
Everyone overlooks the fact that Jean Grey still has Wolverine on her breath
we stan womens wrongs sugar
That was only one time, Scott has been cheating for a month....
Magneto has the best lines in the entire show. I could legit watch a whole series of him just talking and debating people lol.
I would like to point out that Scott was acting more like old Magneto during the interview part.
I wouldn't quite put it to that level, but he's definitely swinging to his comic book roots of being squarely between the two in outlook.
@@ShadowyFox_86i think he is actually between magneto and charles in terms of the way he thinks
Magneto is kind of supremacist
Charles is a peace maker
But Scott is much more pragmatic than both of them
The part where Magneto gets the holocaust flashback haunts me.
Always an amazing choice that they had Magneto protect his people with a train.
The scene where Madelyne Pryor and Scott were having a sort of psychic affair was a reference to Grant Morrison's New X-Men run from the early 2000's, only there Scott was having a psychic affair with Emma Frost, the White Queen, who was also in the episode. The scene where they focus on Emma Frost saying "Mind drift indeed" was also a reference to it.
There wasn't a moment in time when Scott Summers WASN'T in charge of X-Men. Even with Xavier there, he was the one making things happen - whether it was Jean, Beast or Storm or Wolverine, it was him making them work as a team.
Scott also ain't Captain America. He is NOT interested in playing nice at all costs. He couldn't care less if normal humans hate him or dislike him or mutants - as long as his people are safe. The only reason he was on Xavier's side is because he believed his way forward was right - he doesn't have that anymore. And he just lost his son. Everything about the interview to him feels more like a pointless mockery that won't do any good. He is a lot more closer to Magneto in personality than he would EVER admit.
12:46 It’s like this:
You date a girl, but through circumstances, like having to move away because of a career, you two understandably separate. While she’s leaving, to possibly never return, she just so happens to have a twin. She finally returns, only to find that the two of you have been together. The sister doesn’t want to be a part of this drama and nopes out of there, giving you the chance to rekindle things with your original girl, only to reach out with intimate phone calls on the low.
While the first part is understandable, the last part isn’t fair to the partner you’re trying to make things work with, especially if it’s been going on for a month behind her back. In Jean’s case, with her being a telepath, her momentary lapse in judgment could actually be because of Scott’s secret activities. Then again, you don’t have to be a psychic to pick up that something is off about your partner, and they may be hiding something.
If there is any place that Glob should be proud and free to not look “normal” it’s Genosha. Like nightcrawler to mystique “why not look like everyone else?” Mystique: because we shouldn’t have to. Mutant and proud
8:37
This guy's hatred of Scott made him subconsciously justify racism. Xdxdxd
brother, you have to stop listening to what you want and listen to the series.
9:25 That is Sebastian Shaw, the Black King. He is a mutant that can absorb kinetic energy, enhancing his strength and making him near-invulnerabe. He is also a member of the Hellfire Club.
Loving that we got Travis Willingham as Shaw
@@ShadowyFox_86 Nope. Todd Haberkorn was credited as Shaw.
Fresh: I love that she chose him! I was gonna be so sad!
Show (like Magneto): Hold my drink.
Marvel Girl was Jean Grays original code name way back. They don't use it anymore usually.
12:30 If you can get past this complex concept of "Cyclops cheating on two Jean Grey" drama. You can probably discover a cure for cancer next.
15:20 They made Magneto here not only control "Metal" but also master delivering hard "Bars"
Use it for anything he can? Oh yeah. There's even comics where Kurt uses it to pull pranks on his friends.🙂
Happy Nation by Ace of Base
It’s funny because at the end, and you were like “there are survivors!” And it seemed like you were about to say who made it, but we all realized you didn’t know the survivors names. It’s ok dude.
I love your vibe and personality.❤❤❤❤❤
this show is so top than i thought
@12;00 complex indeed he isn't wrong for doing what he was doing with Madelyn
Based on your reaction, I think you’d be a member of OZT (operation zero tolerance), hate group for mutants
about the comment you made about anger and how it's different for a mutant because they are dangerous, I think you are really understimating how dangerous human beings can be. sure, we cannot kill someone with our eyes like Scott could but that does not make human anger not dangerous. For example I just heard from a client about a former client we lost because he used to walk his dog without a collar and people were understandably upset but one of these days somebody got really angry so this guy went home picked up a gun and killed the old man. Human anger can be terrifying.
Sure but humans have to deliberately do something to be dangerous. A Mutant can get mad and accidentally do something dangerous especially ones that don't have good control over their powers. That's all I was saying.
@8:40 Cyclops was right......as a black man, I can identify with the "thank God we are nothing like you be cause you would be dead". Naaaaah....fuck that....I'm not being calm as we getting wrongly persecuted for just existing.
Scott was always in charge of the Xmen ,storm is second.. magneto is not a good leader. Also, Charles Xavier is not dead, watch the original series , also magneto's not dead. He can teleport it's one of his powers.
He can't teleport in this series. But he's not dead. Leech most likely used his powers to the Wild Sentinel couldn't detect it anymore, and assumed Magneto died.
Trish was not helping in that condescending ass tone about lying. Like regular normal people don't lie every 2 seconds. I get why Scott was mad. Why do I have to prove to people I should exist?
Also, did Jean not kiss Logan? So calling her out on her crap was not spinning it was point blank asking her if she still loved him, imo.
Scott doesn't know about the Logan kiss, so while we have knowledge, Scott doesn't (or can't reasonably be considered to have it).
Jean literally cheated on Scott with kissing wolverine
She should have had it in her to pick up on 'You took a baby home recently but just told me you have no kids' and assumed there was something awful. Tact, Trish, TACT! People who lose their babies don't owe the public an explanation. He could have spun that so easily on her. Ugh, Scott.
Reporters don't generally get the option to use tact on a question like that. It leaves too much potential to spin it, especially if this is a sprawling view type piece.
This dude just hates on Scott man this is how anyone would react if they were in this situation.
Totally disagree with you on Scott! You’re wayyyy off. The X-Men/mutants are hates for just existing!
the over reaction... this look so fake
