As a long-time X-Men fan and fan of the original series, even though I wasn't born when the show was around, HOLY S*** , THIS SERIES IS EXCEPTIONAL (pun intended). Now this is how you do a tv show revival successfully! No joke, this series is so masterfully well written, with absolutely phenomenal animation and truly compelling characters and complex, deep, dark themes that genuinely make you question the inherent societal bigotry and how to process internal thoughts of fighting for equality and how to do so in a way to help society grow from the status quo of discrimination and to do more than allow yourself to become numb to a neverending struggle that you feel like isn't your responsibility. Truthfully, this series is some of the *BEST MARVEL MEDIA WE'VE EVER SEEN SINCE ENDGAME* (except No Way Home, GOTG3 and Loki)! Compared to how phenomenal this series was, Fox movies seem like amateur student films with such a bare-bones understanding of how truly incredible and insane the X-Men stories can be when you truly hire people who care about these amazing characters. After watching this show and its epic finale, Bastion became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains. Theo James especially gave a superb performance as Bastion; now, whenever I read a comic featuring Bastion, I'll hear his voice. Not only him but the entire voice cast, especially for Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, Jean, Charles, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Wolverine, Morph, and Nightcrawler, all did a tremendous job. Time travel can be funky. But, I think that Scott and Jean being in the future isn't changing anything. For adult Cable, Jean and Scott being in the future is part of his past. We as fans will just be seeing whatever happened while they were there. So from a canon respect, Jean and Scott always went into the future and encountered a younger Cable. Something similar happened in the comics in a limited series called "The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix". In that case, Scott and Jean's minds were taken into the future and put into two bodies. In this story, Cable was still a baby and they raised him from then until he was like thirteen if I recall correctly. They actually helped train him in the use of his telepathy and telekinesis.
The reason it's the best is that they've taken all the best moments from different comics, then weave it together to incorporate it what the X-Men '97 has earlier established. Making it both lore accurate, but still make sense to overall story of the entire series' characters and world.
"Is that....(smacks lips)..Betty's dad?!?" Yep! LOL!!! THANKS for this!!!! Oh, I see you know (some of) your stuff!!! I love you caught the thing about Jean's hair!!!
Ok, so the way that absolute points seem to work is that the event that will mark a turning point for the timeline is inevitable, you can try to change it but it will happen eventually in another way (i.e. Strange trying to prevent Christine's death by not going to the gala but her dying in a restaurant of a heart attack or because of a gas leak in her building) but what you do after the absolute point can actually change and lead you to a different future. In the case of this series, the absolute point is the Genosha massacre, that cannot be changed, maybe you could delayed it but it will happen eventually, Bastion's war against mutants would happen thanks to that but in this timeline the X-men were able to defeat him unlike the timeline where Cable is from, so yes, they changed the future again because they were able to "defeat" Bastion.
It was explained in episode 9 that they could only sever Bastion's control over the Prime Sentinels but it would be years before they could get the technology out of them and return them to normal
My favorites characters since a kid: Wolverine (number 1 🤷🏾♂️) Kurt (nightcrawler) Gambit Hank (beast) Ororo( storm) Mystique Havok (the second oldest Summers brother) Pyro I played with all these characters on the x-men fighting games in the early 2000s , iykyk . I was born in 95 so I got to grow up with almost any and everything in the mid 90s and beyond.
@ Monica Catapusan, where Jean & Scott are drop off the year 3960 A.D. in the future, actually is Nathan's past even though that time period present itself as future for Jean & Scottt only ? Nathan seem to be at least 13 years of age& left there around 3999 where he bounce from time to time, where Nathan aged a bit( current Nathan looks around late 50 ish in age)? So, the present time where the X-Men are still alive, represent Nathan's future form him specifically?.
Chiiilllld, this whole video was so much FUN!!! I loved watching you go through it all, but in binge form! And all of those emotional moments STILL made me tear up and I wasn't even watching the full episodes!
57:50 Well actually this might come as a surprise but Mystique being Nightcrawler's mother isn't canon anymore and was retconed just a few months ago in X-Men Blue: Origins #1. Actually it's less of a retcon and instead the new comic restores the original history devised by Mystique’s co-creator, Chris Claremont of having Mystique and her wife Destiny be the biological parents of Nightcrawler. Destiny is the one who gave birth to Kurt and Mystique had transformed into a male form to procreate thus making Mystique Nightcrawler's father.
That’s a real stu-- ass idea. Cause his actual dad( idgaf , he’s still Kurt’s real dad) has the same powers and looks the same as Kurt does. They did that bullshit just appeal to people who really don’t even care for X-men or marvel as a whole. They gotta stop with this catering bullshit 🤦🏾♂️
@@donnyouttheway4091 That was the original intention of the CREATOR of Mystique. It's what they wanted to always do originally but weren't allowed to because of the time. Also Azazel is terrible character and has nothing interesting going for him. Him being Nightcrawler's father was never as significant as you think otherwise they wouldn't have retconed it.
@@marshsundeen X-Men '97 has clearly drawn inspiration from stories well after the original show. Plus the reveal of Nightcrawler's parentage happened after the show was already made, so there's nothing saying that they won't include that in the future seasons.
You definitely WANT it to be Apocalypse, this time. Cuz he's gonna be bringing Gambit back, as Death, which also means, he may actually become able to touch Rogue!
I don't know if they are still affordable, but there is a comic book series from the 80's and 90's called "Classic X-Men", which starts right at the All-New, All-Different book, when Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus first joined the X-Men, and continued on for about a hundred issues. Since they are just reissues, they remain cheap, but the kicker is: there's an original story on the "back side" for the first 50 issues or so. Much more affordable than buying the original Uncanny X-Men comics, some of which are hundreds if not thousands of dollars at this point.
I saw a comment under Aisha Wilson’s reaction that was so funny and it said that we could tell the Jean at the door was the real one because she fainted and it was hilarious😂😂😂

I personally prefer the episode-by-episode reaction. I know you joked about it, but having to sit on Gambit's death for weeks to get closure was an experience, something that fans and friends were talking to each other about. It was something you missed out on, which I think affects your viewing on the later episodes. Plus, these longer binges take some commitment to watch all the way through. It's easier to keep up with you with episodes of shorter duration.
1. Glad you watched this. I had no idea what to expect when watching this, as I am a big fan of the X-Men, especially seeing remnants of the original 90s animated series growing up. When i watched the Remember It episode with my boyfriend i broke down. Like to see something like that in a childhood favorite nimated show. I literally couldn't believe it
I dunno if anyone told you yet, but Remember It was inspired by the horrors of The Pulse Nightclub Massacre. As a queer person, knowing that makes the episode even more impactful. 😢
Honestly the week break between episode 5 and 7 dealing with the aftermath of genosha and rogue worked really well, made me excited and anticipating more. I think this show really made use of the fact that it was on a weekly release in terms of building tension and letting it linger with people
My wife's favorite is Gambit. She was annoyed with the original series because all he did was flick cards. Then in episode 5 Gambit is doing awesome things, then he dies. My wife got even more annoyed and stopped watching. Maybe when season 2 comes around i can convince her to come back. And yes, this is the best X-Men in media outside of the comics.
If you watched the OG X-Men series, you might be interested in the fact that the Spider-Man cartoon series of the 90s is in the same universe. So it's potantial can be a material for video. By the way, the Peter Parker and MJ cameo actually happened in the last episode.
Ooo, yes, I was at the movies watching Fall Guy (which was great), so I didn't know you had this up. You take this Like before I even watch. I will comment more later, but gurl, you in for it. Tears are coming.
So just for any curious The Goblyn Queen outfit was originally a two piece itty bitty thing. Aside from that if they ever do Sinister proper live. Nathan Fillion could play him.
I hope that Disney takes note of X-men 97's success with fans and does a reboot of the 90s Spiderman cartoon also. I think they could crush it, especially if they take notes from Spiderverse.

She's not 🧢 at all actual fan that knows the lure and makes this reaction that much better. Continued success
32:45 My man Wolverine being the mature one. Bless him! 😔🙏🏽
39:28 My man Gambit! 💪
RIP 😔🙏🏽
So excited about this reaction!! Storm has been, is, and will always be my favorite X men⛈️💗
This is where the fun begins!!!!!! I've been looking forward to this reaction!!!! 🙏🏽💪
My favorite X-Men is Gambit so you know episode 5 was fun.
Me too...
The shirt you're wearing for eps 8-10 is absolutely amazing holy crap
Tbh some times I like it when a channel does a show a bit later because we're like out of reactions and it's cool to be able to re live it.
"What If" shouldn't end until we get "What If Bastion joined the X-Men?"😊
It was explained in episode 9 that they could only sever Bastion's control over the Prime Sentinels but it would be years before they could get the technology out of them and return them to normal
"my favorite Rogue and Gambit" ...
Oh no 🫣

My favorites characters since a kid:
Wolverine (number 1 🤷🏾♂️)
Kurt (nightcrawler)
Gambit
Hank (beast)
Ororo( storm)
Mystique
Havok (the second oldest Summers brother)
Pyro
I played with all these characters on the x-men fighting games in the early 2000s , iykyk . I was born in 95 so I got to grow up with almost any and everything in the mid 90s and beyond.
i love that you actually know what you’re talking about it’s awesome
Mystique was Nightcrawlers' mother in the Original. The show is sticking with that.
I absolutely love this show. Watching the original made that version of the X Men my favorite version, and this made them even more so
You definitely WANT it to be Apocalypse, this time. Cuz he's gonna be bringing Gambit back, as Death, which also means, he may actually become able to touch Rogue!
50:24 it's josh keaton he voice cap in the what if series.
I really thought you didn't cover this series so for it to be in one video is such a gift omg! I'M SO HAPPY❤❤
I love that in the first fight with sentinels Storm could be with team but no she is a diva and she wants an entrance
1:22:36 yeah he surely is, there are comics where gambit become one of the 4 horsemen of apocalypse, I think that this is the direction of the series
34:05 Yeah, it's a sad and complicated situation.
After Episode 5, I was not only locked in, but I was prepared for anything this show would throw at me.
I LOVE this show so much, and I cannot wait for Season 2!
2. #ToMeMyXMen

I absolutely love seeing you experience xmen and all the stories that's happened during xmen 97.. this cartoon takes the comicbook storylines and wraps them all together nicely..I never knew Phillipino women were so breathtaking, definitely a fan. God bless 🙌🏽
1:16:30 My woman Rogue!!!! 🙏🏽💪
Hit-monkey is really good and is rated R and nobody talks of it
People seem to forget that Kurt was also there on Genosha.
okay this is the first video i’m seeing of yours and omg ur channel was made for me!!
Hiii! Welcome to the channel!!
Great reactions. Storm just laughing when Jean comes back as the Phoenix is priceless. Can't wait to see what you think of season 2.
X-Men in my eyes is The Heart and Soul of Marvel in my opinion
When i watched the Remember It episode with my boyfriend i broke down. Like to see something like that in a childhood favorite nimated show. I literally couldn't believe it
I dunno if anyone told you yet, but Remember It was inspired by the horrors of The Pulse Nightclub Massacre. As a queer person, knowing that makes the episode even more impactful. 😢
56:34 thats my country! And thats 1:22:09 Young Apocalypse in Egypt
Did you miss the Watcher in the background of Remember it before the Sentinel attack?
I agree that this might be the best Marvel project. I can't wait for season 2. I hope quality doesn't drop after Beau DeMayo's firing.
Honestly the week break between episode 5 and 7 dealing with the aftermath of genosha and rogue worked really well, made me excited and anticipating more. I think this show really made use of the fact that it was on a weekly release in terms of building tension and letting it linger with people
En Sabah Nur from 3000 BC is the Big A.
Gambit is alive and turn into new member of apocalypse as horsemen of death
Apparently the voice actress of Rogue lost her teenage niece to cancer a week before recording loosing Gambit, so it was very painful
33:00 bro said aww logan like scott didn’t just get cheated on 😂😂😂
1:24:00 I honestly don't mind it! 💪
You just made my day, I love this show so much, let me watch your video now😅
Marvel owes us on our next therapy bill lol.
Great reaction! Keep up the good work! I absolutely loved this binge format!
Coming home from a double shift with a big box of Thai food and this video??? I’m eating well tonight
I'm so glad you love it as much as I do. I feel the same way, it isn't necessarily the best but it's clearly up there.
@31:43….lmao Nightwalker is for the streets but Nightcrawler a fan favorite
My favorites have always been Rogue and Wolverine
If you watched the OG X-Men series, you might be interested in the fact that the Spider-Man cartoon series of the 90s is in the same universe. So it's potantial can be a material for video. By the way, the Peter Parker and MJ cameo actually happened in the last episode.
1:12:20 These cameos were great! 🙏🏽💪
Oh my god she watched all of them???? This is awesome
This was a great reaction. Thank you for reacting to it, monica
Don't you remember Forge from the old series? Forge sent Bishop to the past in Days of Future Past.
I finally got around to finishing this video, this show is incredible and I loved your reactions so much!
New updated Nightcrawler origin Mystique is actually his dad.
37:26 Yep, sure is! 💪
nooooo you missed the part where cyclops was crying and shot the blast ! 😂 i love your reactions
21:10 Big Yikes!!!! 😭😂
So good to see your smiling face! (Our tastes don't exactly have a lot of crossover, so it's been a while for me) Such an awesome reaction, you seemed to enjoy it as much as those of us who were waiting with bated breath each week 🙂 Much more than a kid's show, hey? And yeah, some good old fashioned 2D animation is lovely to see.
