The ending of this episode is a masterclass in tabletop roleplaying. @numbernine5894 Campaign 2 episode 38 2:00:00 That's where the story is, but I believe (as someone already said) they explained that it actually happened to her in real life in an episode of Talks Machina. Pay attention to Travis. He's laughing extra hard during the story, probably because he knows it's a true story.
ahaha Laura half committed to regurgitating Jester's response to "what's the craziest thing you ever saw?" before pivoting to "fuck it im gonna tell this ghost pirate something most of Bells Hells doesn't know". amazing
The bug and the stairs, oh my gods. The teaching rollies bit just killed me. I love it. Side note for me- I'm caught up! I made it! Finally! I started on June 9th of last year and now, after two full campaigns, the one- and two-shots, all the EXU's, I made it! Yay!

3:54:23 Honestly I would totally be ok with their next campaign just being something like their all ghost pirates and they encounter different things around their waters as they go and they ironically end up saving the world trying to get something back without even knowing it

Last week Laudna suggested she dresses in a pirate wench outfit and Imogen had a similar reaction lmao. It also reminds me of the episode where they faked a porn shoot and when Laudna was topless Imogen needed a second to compose herself 😂
Oh. I _just_ finished the last episode today and completely forgot that it's Monday and I just got another one. Merry Monday critters, this is what you get if you open your heart to chaos.
i've been using Speak With Dead for 90+ hours in Baldur's Gate 3, and this 20 minute session had more chaos than all of those combined, nothing can replicate this
That is probably the biggest weakness in video games based off of tabletop rulesets. A video game can only have so many options. A tabletop is limited by the players imagination.
Plan: Lure the ship with compass in the water -> stash it in the hole & promise to give it when they get to their destination. Execution: Lure pirate ship -> fight.
It’s so funny to me how hard it was for the cast to understand Matt’s Scottish accent. It was so clear for me, I couldn’t understand the problem 😂. Well done, Matt. Some thick American accents are harder for me to understand lol
@@Im-Not-a-DogDoubt it. Baldur's gate also has shoving as a bonus action. You can throw potions at someone to give the effect. A lot of things were changed to make it more fitting for a video game, not everything translates well back to table top
The entire start of this episode was the hardest I've laughed at cr in a while. Taliesin telling Travis to flip the map and Travis flipping him off, FCG's plan with the compass ("this is dastardly!"), Orym questioning the plan ("you've got my cellphone!"), Sam totally forgetting who the dead people in the hole are, Imogen pretending to be her mom ("hey it's me...what are we doing?"), etc. Had me cracking up and replaying it.
And he knows it too considering his reaction to her death stare at 1:24:03. He could've at least apologized to Laudna for throwing around turn/destroy undead so carelessly when he knows it affects her.
Didn't imogen almost kill the whole party and npc allies after shooting the machine gun with lightning during the bassuras fight😮 Both sam and fcg just got that spell two days ago in game and used it once a week a go outside the game and didn't truly know how that spell worked or how it effects laudna really especially since she saved against it the first time and they were literally arguing with each other about how it works for ten plus minutes during the battle. Fcg also didn't really have a choice since they were surrounded by resurrecting enemies with fcg being both the main healer that can't revive people currently and almost died by two crossbow shots then went unconscious like twice by one tiny skeleton what would had happened if surrounded by five more enemies then maybe a permanent death also did the party show any kind concern when fcg almost died twice instead they got made at him when they almost all had damage each other accidentally before. Also what's also inconsiderate is bargaining chetneys powerful sword without his opinion so everyone could have done better not just fcg Some people like to say it wasn't the god that given you their divine power to heal or resurrect you but the mortal cleric but when same divine power harm you either purposely or accidentally yall then its the gods fault and they hate you its weird but when some animals, plants weather kills and poison mortals they don't say nature is evil and we have to kill nature or let it die. But maybe I'm wrong just saying my opinion. Pls excuse my grammar 😅
Nice whataboutism @TheAbsolation Imogen didn't know that that was gonna happen and was horrified. FCG was aware that it will affect Laudna in some way. He even mentioned her in his speech before casting it. He just didn't care and that sucks. He is supposed to be her friend and should look out for her. Casting it made complete sense in this situation but he could've at least shown some sign of regret or apologized to her afterwards. I mean he apologized to Fearne for getting snippy with her but spared no thought for Laudna. Also, if he wants his friends to join him in his religious fanaticism so badly, it's probably not the best idea to randomly yell "respect the gods" at Laudna and make her feel bad about something she can't change about herself. All he did was convince her even more that the gods hate her, no matter how irrational that thought may seem. It's a thing she's struggling with and he made it worse.
Especially when they as the Goddess OF LIGHT AND RENEWAL & 2ND CHANCES found her Ok as she was - and brought her back just as she was. I also don't think the RQ has an issue as a very strong grave cleric welcomed her back to life and was down to be pals... instead of smiting her where she stood.
Started watching C3 in March after having watched LoVM on Prime. I played DnD in high school and about a year ago started up a campaign with friends - I didnt think I'd enjoy watching other people play. And yet here we are, all caught up on C3 😅
"What is the greatest threat to our organization?" - "Unity" was a hilarious turn of phrase considering the whole engine install fee fiasco in the video gaming field, lol
3:25:00 Ashton keeps saying that he confirmed hunches, or that the gods wronged him, but I think he forgot the fact that HE RAIDED A TEMPLE! What did he expect? A hug? A kiss from the god known to strick down the wicked? Come on now.
you know i cant help but wonder what the talking sword acts like when its not keeping up the pretence that its chivalrous also its kinda funny that with the time it spent with chet it never figured out appealing to his honor wasn't the best play
Of course all the ghost ship crew have names and backstories and are interesting characters. They may not have before they needed them, but they do now. "Remember Kyle!"
i listen to cr in 2x speed and it’s so funny that everyone else is slightly higher pitched and quick and then taliesin is just. speaking at a normal pace finally
I thought this episode wasn't going to be great (majority combat etc), but seeing them wind down on the ship was actually nice and quite refreshing. It's nice to see them without the tense countdown.
There is nothing I want more than for them to hit the breaks a bit and stop rushing through the plot. We are missing out on so many character interactions between them because they all feel like they're in a hurry to reach the next main plot checkpoint. This has been an issue since late campaign 2 with the cast. I miss small moments like them taking watch at night in pairs and just having conversations with each other.
There have been episodes of 90% of them just just talking to each other. One was so bad that several comments went something like "yeah, no, can't take all this NOTHING happening, guess this is the end for me". I, for one, am happy it's moving somewhere.
@@unexardiximarion1920 It's a good thing when it's mixed but I struggle with gimmic episodes (all combat, all interaction, all shopping etc) but this one felt like a really nice blend. It's nice for them to actually have a moment of reflection after being thrust into such a highstakes situation, which has been a long time coming. They didn't focus on the plot in their moment of calmness, which is a good idea. Instead, it makes us realise what we are actually fighting for (a night sitting around a table playing card games with the party). It's endearing.
ngl I seriously would’ve loved if Travis would had to roll a wisdom saving throw on the sword. Missed opportunity to complete the sword possession trilogy.
@@marissamemori that’s fair, but would the boat have disappeared if they killed the captain? All I’m saying is, Travis got severely NERFED. That was a powerful sword. Now, I just hope that they turn on the pirate crew, and kill everyone aboard that ship.
You know what they need? A collapsing rig to attach the hole to. Kinda like a collapsible lawn chair but, instead of stopping at chair size, it lays out flat. Im sure a master craftsman like Chetney could come up with something.
At 52:37 Ashton is trying to see if one of the dead pirates is himself from a past life. If you remember in Ashton's head they saw him as a pirate. I don't think it works that way but that is why Tal was checking.
Hi! I understood the scene back when imogen and FCG went into their head as "seeing everything he could have been, infinite possibility reachable only via the chaos magic locked in their head" not necessarily as past lifes, but the past lifes hipotesis sounds neat! I believe he was asking about the head wound because the captain of the ghost ship was described as having being downed by a crossbow bolt to the head, that's why Taliesin is asking "any one with head wounds? Any of them particularly well dressed?" He was trying to identify the captain at a distance, although I cannot find where in the last episode that information was shared :(
@@soniaprado3605Don't have the time stamp, but it was revealed through a vision Chetney got from the compass when he used his blood hunter ability, Grim Psychometry
It's WILD to be caught up with the latest release videos, after having binged all of the Mighty Nein and Bells Hells up to this point. I didn't expect it to feel so much different, there's more of a thrill, more feeling of anticipation, and this is just the Monday crew watch! I love this story and these story tellers
The entire time they were dealing with pirates in this episode all I could think about was KoRn debating whether they were ghost pirates or pirate ghosts. And it was also the night when the skeletons came to life. They came from the sea, and from all over they-
I just realized having a cr themed Travis character in a fighting game would be awesome: -Stellar physique for those games - Switching between all out assault evoking grog, distinguished mystic blade evoking captain tusktooth and cunning attacks with werewolf gnome would be so much fun -He's already a voice actor I can just see in my mind a drawing style travis with the form of the characters appearing superposed when he uses moves It even has a general cohesion with the three being rather agressive in different way, forming a pallet of approaches without being too much of an all rounder

Side note for me- I'm caught up! I made it! Finally! I started on June 9th of last year and now, after two full campaigns, the one- and two-shots, all the EXU's, I made it! Yay!
Congrats!

"Is it Monday yet?" cause, y'know, not wanting to stream Twitch while driving over the weekend even though you're been paying the subscription for the better part of two years now, honestly why do I even still have a subscription if I'm not gonna use it?
For me it gets up like 3 am Friday or something like that. So always watch Monday
It just says, "Is it Friday yet?" But it's upside down.
I wanna hear Eshteross say "shore shrew". It would just be neat.
That’s actually the real reason Eshteross was killed off, so Matt wouldn’t have say “shore shrew” as Eshteross
This comment wins.
3:54:23 Honestly I would totally be ok with their next campaign just being something like their all ghost pirates and they encounter different things around their waters as they go and they ironically end up saving the world trying to get something back without even knowing it
Yea, they are all reborn, dampira, I forgot what laudna is, shadow sorcery maybe some undead and undying warlocks. Level one is just ship just sunk this is day one of ghost pirating and then go from there.

Spoiler-free hilarious quote:
*"Maybe I've got some barnacles, I don't know."*
Imogen is gonna slap FCG one of these days and I'm absolutely here for it
And he knows it too considering his reaction to her death stare at 1:24:03.
He could've at least apologized to Laudna for throwing around turn/destroy undead so carelessly when he knows it affects her.
Didn't imogen almost kill the whole party and npc allies after shooting the machine gun with lightning during the bassuras fight😮
Both sam and fcg just got that spell two days ago in game and used it once a week a go outside the game and didn't truly know how that spell worked or how it effects laudna really especially since she saved against it the first time and they were literally arguing with each other about how it works for ten plus minutes during the battle.
Also what's also inconsiderate is bargaining chetneys powerful sword without his opinion so everyone could have done better not just fcg
Some people like to say it wasn't the god that given you their divine power to heal or resurrect you but the mortal cleric but when same divine power harm you either purposely or accidentally yall then its the gods fault and they hate you its weird but when some animals, plants weather kills and poison mortals they don't say nature is evil and we have to kill nature or let it die.
@@TheAbsolation how is that comparable in any way?
Especially when they as the Goddess OF LIGHT AND RENEWAL & 2ND CHANCES found her Ok as she was - and brought her back just as she was. I also don't think the RQ has an issue as a very strong grave cleric welcomed her back to life and was down to be pals... instead of smiting her where she stood.

Ghost ship in the shattered teeth: BEST THING EVER!
@@mariarother4876
Yeah, it adds a human element to their characters and it's nice to see it back, even for a little bit.
There have been episodes of 90% of them just just talking to each other.
One was so bad that several comments went something like "yeah, no, can't take all this NOTHING happening, guess this is the end for me".
I, for one, am happy it's moving somewhere.
@@unexardiximarion1920
It's a good thing when it's mixed but I struggle with gimmic episodes (all combat, all interaction, all shopping etc) but this one felt like a really nice blend.
It's endearing.
the best episodes are the combat episodes, I really wish there was more tbh.

I just realized having a cr themed Travis character in a fighting game would be awesome:
-Stellar physique for those games
- Switching between all out assault evoking grog, distinguished mystic blade evoking captain tusktooth and cunning attacks with werewolf gnome would be so much fun
-He's already a voice actor
