No no no that’s the reason people are bailing out…. C3 lacks focus. A near world ending event is happening, and the players don’t give me any season to build tention or care for it. And I’m not alone, I stopped watching this show 5 mounts ago. People are understanding that c3 has zero substance. Yes it fun to watch, bc of the jokes. The storytelling and world building is bad.
@@Ghostleeee then why are you here if you stopped months ago? This is EXACTLY the same as C1 where they suddenly had to rush off to get the vestiges to fight the dragons, with many shenanigans on the way. Or c2 where they are traveling around and joking with the literal Bbeg. You can't claim lack of substance when this campaign has had some incredibly hard hitting moments. Idk what you were watching but it wasn't this
@@Jplays23 i didnt end c1…. C2 Only on arc was good…..it’s was the city of beast and the queen! Later on planning to let cult people die on the island The group core has zero morals….. If it’s fun they will tried it Even killing people just for the kill and fun. And the dramatic story bits, and forced emotional moments always comes from no where :)) Never a good build up, why? Bc 30 second before the dramatic moment….everyone was joking
I don't know why but the whole "Pate! You better learn to open your eyes!" "But I don't have eyes!" just killed me more than anything else this episode.
this might've been one of my favorite episodes of the whole campaign. the cursed ad read. matt yelling at sam, which may or may not have awakened something inside of me. laura giving sam an unreleased dice from the cr shop that he flaunted around and the post-team had to censor. the whole "you don't roll for scry" debacle. fearne adding ANOTHER man to her list of "men who would bend heaven and earth for fearne calloway". laudna may or may not be a phylactery for delilah and also maybe eats souls. FEARNE PERMANENTLY LOSING 5 HIT POINTS BECAUSE SHE GAVE AWAY PART OF HER SOUL TO A SKELETON PIRATE CAPTAIN. fearne being a homewrecker. travis willingham calling ashley johnson "AJ". orym stealing a spy glass and being uber paranoid about it. fearne big-spooning the skeleton. bells hells getting tattoos that are eerily similar to the taco bell logo. fearne convincing two skeleton pirates to hook up. imogen saying "you should suck my soul" when laudna casually announced that she probably swallows souls, and laudna responding, "that's hot."
what was funnier about scry it was their characters from the previous campaign which they literally got amulets against scrying during late end of campaign for every PC.
It would make sense, the whole point of Caleb having the amulet early C2 was to hide from the Assembly. If they were investigating Ludinus, to stay hidden they'd have to attune to them again
This, or they're kept prisoners and Ludinus put the amulets (or something equivalent) on them since he knew people would be looking -and scrying- for them if they didn't report back.
Well, they turned 2 guards into steel balls 3 other into charred corpses and Beau gave one of them the worst death possible for those necklaces it would make sense they’ve kept it all this time
I *DESPERATELY* hope they find another of the Captain's lost items so we can hang out with the pirates again. I have grown to love these guys 😂 Marius can learn a thing or two from these guys, even Kyle
They’re working on it. But without getting stronger, they’re only going to fail. So they have to find some stuff to give them a leg up, hence the shattered teeth
@@stephencarmickleit was a good joke to me 😅 and who cares if people are thinking that way? Let them have that opinion. It doesn't matter. I personally think it's silly to think that way but I don't care if they do. I wasn't even aware of it.
@gobeheroes There are similarities, vaguely. Delilah is a temptation, one that's always there. And while the temptation in question isn't an active one like alcoholism or Chetney's deal, as the stakes get higher it's going to be harder to put that temptation aside.
I am so proud of Ashley for pulling that off😂also seeing that made me want to see Fearne and Jester interact and talk about their match making and romances
So, one of my best friends died of Alcoholism and his name was Kevin. Kevin said something close to what he said and it made me tear up a little… Thank you Critical Role for the memory.
2:22:30 may be my new favourite CR moment. Laudna suggesting she could do face painting + the cutest laugh I’ve ever heard from Matt + Marisha’s look of pride that she was the reason for that laugh 😩❤️
Last episode he had a whole conversation that basically admitted to "gods bad, me angry" and then accused a member of the damned skeleton crew that they don't know what being angry is. Ashton isn't mature at all in my eyes. He's self absorbed and so wrapped up in his past traumas that he doesn't even know how to empathize with anyone. Being angry is not a personality.
Aside from all the precious joy and laughs these episodes give me every time I watch them, I'd like to give a big applause to the people who subtitle these because wow, that must be A LOT of work and you do an EXCELLENT job at it, thank you!!
i have not watch campaign 1 or 2 i dont know if i can lol between fearne and chetney i dont see how id ever connect with any other their other characters! lol they inspire the chaotic side of me lol
@@DarhkCrizzusThey are amazing for sure, but if I can give some of my experience, I thought the same of C3, I didn't thought I would be able to relate to them, but it happened pretty easily in the first 10 episodes. So never say never, give it a chance someday :)
Fearne "courting" an undead pirate captain and trying to rouse his "feelings" left me rolling on the floor. Anything to gain an advantage! Love Ashley/Fearne!
I have been watching critical role since 2017!!!!! And this is the FIRST TIME I’ve been caught up to be part of the Monday gang!!!!! Cheers critters!!!!!!!!!
This was one of the funniest episodes out there. The entire pirate trip was so surreal its unbelievable. Fearne has a devil boyfriend, seduces an undead pirate captain and then playes matchmaker for said captain.
I love the idea that Laudna is now just using delilah's soul as a battery while delilah's mind is near catatonic. Torn to ribbons trying to cage an unstoppable force. The more consious she becomes of the process the more powerful she'll become.
don't mind me, just passing by noting my favourite scenes to rewatch later 17:59 Sam rolls a nat 20 and... 1:23:08 spooning the dread captain 1:27:02 Fearne goes cold 1:34:51 1:37:23 1:47:43 2:23:25 making music for ghosts 3:07:48 stealthy werewolf transformation 3:42:37 situash 3:53:44 just in case I get a nat 20
51:00 Liam does this thing where, even if he doesn't say much, or is overly emotional, it hits so hard. Orym just keeps on being the heart and soul of the party with so few words.
18:05 might be one of my favorite Matt moments to date, I'm crying! (watch from 16:40 for context) Edit: and he let them cheer for the Nat20 at 17:37 without saying anything.... holy crap, Matt, your comedic timing is perfect
Matt's 'what are they doing' face at 17:35 , Marisha's soft "wait, you have to roll for that?" at 17:51 and Laura's very sure "you *do* have to roll" at 17:52 just add to the whole thing
@@DubhMornie and like, of course Marisha took Laura's word for it- Laura cast most of their Scry spells in C2! The whole thing was a mess in the BEST way, I fucking love these people...
Travis's expressions at 48:00 when Marisha mentions she might be a phalactery are golden. Laudna has been fascinating to me because I am playing a character right now that is strikingly similar despite making the character several months before C3. It's been killing me keeping it from my party so Travis having the "oh sh1t, Delilah is a lich and Laudna is her phalactery" moment was soooooo cathartic. I can keep my secret easier now, thank you Travis
I really appreciate Liam explaining to the podcast listeners what everyone was laughing about. I still had to come to the video just to see everyone lose it. So good. :)
I never knew I needed an animated Bells Hells series until I was imagining the steamy ghost pirate scene. Wow the ghost pirate arc was amazing! I wonder what Matt was expecting to happen.
googles... so...Laudna is Delilah's phylactery, her skin puppet until Delilah regains full form, and Laudna does seem to decide on her own to murder a couple of people, devour their soul, and feed it to Delilah in the belief that Delilah will pass strength on to Laudna... 👀
Considering what's at stake and how dire things are you'd think they'd be taking things more seriously, but this is CR and they probably wanted to have a few comedic relief episodes
@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya In the end, its still their game. If they wanna have an episode to fuckaround, like any D&D party does from time to time, I'm aint gonna be mad about it
@@thefallencat2080 the players do have full agency to tell Matt if they wished to skip the daily travel and fast forward to their destination, Matt would probably make a few rolls on an encounter table and boom if nothing came up they'd be there already, I'm not saying they should do that if they're having fun since technically the same amount of time will be passing in game regardless, but I personally don't care about undead pirate romance shenanigans so it makes it a bit of a bland episode for me, just to clarify, just because I'm not loving this episode doesn't mean i think they should stop having fun and hurry up with the main plot
@@mateobarrett6829 obviously it's their game, nowhere did I demand what they do next, I'm just saying this episode feels like a filler where nothing really important happens after a bunch of important plot episodes and you're just antsy waiting for the continued plot, if they're having fun great, I think we're all agreed that's what we want, but not everyone is going to get the same enjoyment from their goofing
I love how whenever he reveals a shirt, its almost like whatever is going to be on it is illegal or borderline illegal and everyone cant believe it haha
'Nothing, you don't roll for scry' Feels so much like when I got my first paladin crit and got to do so much smite damage, got to roll everything and count up the maths.... and then my husband (the dm) went 'well, it's an illusion'. I lost my absolute MIND. I'll never forgive him lmao
I'm sorry, but 48:30 conversation, I had the same exact reaction like Travis and it just blew my mind for a second, along with where that idea could lead to.
I feel like this ghost ship was the exact thing the party needed, a lil down time, some time to reflect, and a moment to kinda distance themselves from the big picture... A lil post-death "boning" couldn't hurt either 😂😂😂
19:00 Matt's little shake of the head that they have _all_ forgotten that the Mighty Nein raided the Vergessen Sanitarium for *Amulets of Proof Against Seeing and Scrying.* I would say that this was good commitment to not metagaming, but it's more likely that it's because this group collectively has the long term memory of Keyleth's most infamous Wild Shape.
After 10 minutes of shirt stuff and getting dice together to roll: "Ok ok. What do we add? what do we add for scry?" Matt:"NOTHING! You don't roll for scry!" I haven't laughed this hard for this long in a while 🤣😂🤣
I had seen the scry roll on reels and tik tok and all that and it never got old. Seeing Matt's facial journey during those minutes is gold. And the "No, it's okay, it's okay" when Laura apologizes... just pure gold 😂
48:43 The moment Travis, and Travis alone, picks up that Laudna is likely a PHYLACTERY for Delilah meaning Delilah learned freaking LICHDOM from the archlich Vecna. He looks at her like "wait what??", then suspiciously, then at Matt suspiciously....then keeps quiet. Travis is on the ball a lot and it's very cool to see. (And then forgets he is carrying an orb onto the ocean roleplaying low WIS in real life :p)
17:50 It sounded like Marisha was wondering if they have to roll for scry, and Laura was like, "You do have to roll first". 😅 That chaos was just gold. 5/7 of them have played characters who have scry, and we got SO close to one stopping the madness...
I noticed, they don't do those plastic rings for status effects anymore. Laudna was concentrating on Spider Climb, for example. I am sure with the plastic ring, they would have remembered that she needed a concentration check in the big fight after the break.
I love how Sam is just rolling the dice he's not meant to show during the Delilah bit around in his fingers and the editors still put his face over it 😂 Nothing gets past them

This is possibly the most "yeah this could happen at my table" moment I've seen on here. Just the sheer chaos of turning something into such a fun moment
Yep, to me this sounds like a typical Saturday night (My groups Thursday)
I didn’t like how the group was friend with a war criminal….. in the same time talking about wrong / right.
I didn’t like how jester was ok in tricking people into her cult….
Later on planning to let cult people die on the island
The group core has zero morals…..
If it’s fun they will tried it
Even killing people just for the kill and fun.
And the dramatic story bits, and forced emotional moments always comes from no where :))
Never a good build up, why?
Bc 30 second before the dramatic moment….everyone was joking
Matt really didn't need to go that hard with a random ghost pirate side ship, but he did and we love and respect him for it, novorillia 4ever
Makes me wish my DM went a bit harder with side stuff like that, instead of keep sending us to near character deaths every side and main mission
I agree with the awakening something so much lol😂
what was funnier about scry it was their characters from the previous campaign which they literally got amulets against scrying during late end of campaign for every PC.
Dont forget the skeleton quinceanera
When did Travis say AJ 😂
just caught this @16:17 Travis, casts minor illusion to show what Beau looks like, gestures his hand underneath Marisha's face. nice.
Nice catch!
I’m guessing Beau and Caleb still have those necklaces that keep people from scrying on them
That was my thought. I hazard it was Matt's as well. Did you see his face when they were discussing why it failed.
😂😂😂 oh yeah Caleb and beau were hiding from a psychic god thing! 😂
Well, they turned 2 guards into steel balls 3 other into charred corpses and Beau gave one of them the worst death possible for those necklaces it would make sense they’ve kept it all this time
Fearne shows us that unlife finds a Calloway

God. Damn. It.

Bells Hells, defeating foes with the power of friendship since the beginning of the campaign. Absolute legends.
Fearne’s harem:
- Pretty (Use to)
- Chetney
- Deanna
- Manad
- Lord Preston Drodolon
- Tevan Klash
- Captain Novos
- Possibly the rest of Bell’s Hells
Inevitably the rest of bell's hells
Possibly?!
Yu Suffiad certainly tried, although wanting to kill your parents miiiiiight be a slight turn-off, even for Fearne.

I *DESPERATELY* hope they find another of the Captain's lost items so we can hang out with the pirates again. I have grown to love these guys 😂 Marius can learn a thing or two from these guys, even Kyle
I think that’s why Orym stole the spyglass…
I would want one of them to see if you can Summon them to either the desert or ruidus.
It would be a great one shot... once we get this great saving the world thing outta the way 😁!!!
I can just hear fjord "fukin Marius..."
You mean Keith? 😂
Why bother going to the moon and save the world when you can throw a Quinceañera for an undead skeleton pirate crew instead?
They’re working on it. But without getting stronger, they’re only going to fail. So they have to find some stuff to give them a leg up, hence the shattered teeth

As someone with almost 8 years sober I just gotta say, Matt as Kyle summed up alcoholism/addiction PERFECTLY.
Well done 🥰🥰
@@karencollins7076 thank ya
alcoholism, sure, i can agree to that
very true I just don’t think it applies to laudna’s situation
@gobeheroes There are similarities, vaguely. Delilah is a temptation, one that's always there. And while the temptation in question isn't an active one like alcoholism or Chetney's deal, as the stakes get higher it's going to be harder to put that temptation aside.

I was not expecting undead pirate soap opera. The Fearne Effect is a force to be reckoned with.

Laudna suggesting she could do face painting + the cutest laugh I’ve ever heard from Matt + Marisha’s look of pride that she was the reason for that laugh 😩❤️
This was not the mutiny the pirates deserved, but the one they needed.
FCG giving just the Worst advice to Laudna and Kyle coming in with the truth bomb👏👏
I love how, after the party splitting, Ashton moved from being the quiet, angry guy in the back to the purposeful, mature guy with a quest
Idc what anyone says, I feel like Ashton is the pseudo leader of the party along with orym as co leader
Idc what anyone says, I feel like Ashton is the pseudo leader of the party along with orym as co leader

This was one of the funniest episodes out there. The entire pirate trip was so surreal its unbelievable. Fearne has a devil boyfriend, seduces an undead pirate captain and then playes matchmaker for said captain.
I love watching the alarm bells going off in Marisha’s head at the mention of a charm with a Ruidis-colored gemstone surrounded by a cage.
I love the idea that Laudna is now just using delilah's soul as a battery while delilah's mind is near catatonic.
Torn to ribbons trying to cage an unstoppable force.
The more consious she becomes of the process the more powerful she'll become.

Travis's expressions at 48:00 when Marisha mentions she might be a phalactery are golden. Laudna has been fascinating to me because I am playing a character right now that is strikingly similar despite making the character several months before C3.

How's it going rewatch crew?
I feel like this ghost ship was the exact thing the party needed, a lil down time, some time to reflect, and a moment to kinda distance themselves from the big picture... A lil post-death "boning" couldn't hurt either 😂😂😂
That was actually some really good insight about addiction from Kenneth.
19:00 Matt's little shake of the head that they have _all_ forgotten that the Mighty Nein raided the Vergessen Sanitarium for *Amulets of Proof Against Seeing and Scrying.*
I would say that this was good commitment to not metagaming, but it's more likely that it's because this group collectively has the long term memory of Keyleth's most infamous Wild Shape.
After 10 minutes of shirt stuff and getting dice together to roll: "Ok ok. What do we add? what do we add for scry?"
Matt:"NOTHING! You don't roll for scry!"
I haven't laughed this hard for this long in a while 🤣😂🤣
how to destroy a party with five words XD

I CANNOT wait for the fan art of the Pirate Party
48:43 The moment Travis, and Travis alone, picks up that Laudna is likely a PHYLACTERY for Delilah meaning Delilah learned freaking LICHDOM from the archlich Vecna.

That chaos was just gold. 5/7 of them have played characters who have scry, and we got SO close to one stopping the madness...

This was probably my favorite episode. Befriending ruthless pirates, flirting and setting up dates. Best episode ever.
I noticed, they don't do those plastic rings for status effects anymore. Laudna was concentrating on Spider Climb, for example. I am sure with the plastic ring, they would have remembered that she needed a concentration check in the big fight after the break.
