Gaz, as a Mexican I can’t thank you enough for showing how beautiful our country is, the warmth of our people, and the delicious food. Your respect for Mexico has made me respect you even more as an individual and as a chef. Tortas are one of our favorites, and that bread you made!!!!! The photography of the video is beautiful. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for the kind words ❤️
HELLO FAMILY ❤ thank you so much for watching! Tom & I have poured our all into this episode & series, if you enjoyed it - please share it to all your foodie/travel loving friends & family!! I had a life changing experience in Mexico thanks to the beautiful people & culture, which lead me to want to create this series to share the stories of the lovely people we met. thank you for the support. Love Gaz
PS WHERE SHOULD WE TRAVEL NEXT?
@@gazoakleychef India 💖
@@DrBrunoRecipes Good shout.
My vote is for somewhere in the Caribbean, maybe Jamaica or Trinidad.
Indonesia!
You really immerse yourselves into the Mexican culture, Gaz and Tom. It’s admirable how you speak the language to the best of your ability and you ask for help with words, if necessary. It shows genuine interest and respect to the Mexican people with whom you interact. The couple that you went diving with, the family that you learned to make tortas with, and the couple with whom you stayed, were all such lovely people, and you could see that they enjoyed your excited interest in their lives. This a great series which I am enjoying immensely. You have showcased the Country of Mexico beautifully, guys, with your incredible images and glimpses into the food and culture of Mexico. See you in Episode 4!
Thank you so much for these kind words! Means the world 👍
❤️❤️
I totally agree!
Thank you Gaz for visiting Mexico where I'm from. I live outside there since 2010 and I miss a lot all those places, but I'm so so happy you can find them incredible and to show the word all the deliciousness México has and the best part is the people. Bravo!!!! By the way.. my mouth was watering all the time 🤤
Rick Martinez at Food 52 is good at this too. He's not vegan, but he certainly brings the beauty of Mexico to my place in SE Europe too.
Seeing my country from the perspective of someone from the other side of the world was beautiful! Americans water down our culture and don’t respect it as much. Refreshing to see how much you cherished it! ❤ Mexico is for people like you!
I can't underline enough how impressive this series is! And I don't just mean the quality of filming & editing. It just shows again how you really care about where different dishes are from, instead of just profit off them while including some of their techniques and flavors in your recipes. You and your team are a blessing to this platform, Gaz. Sending love from Germany!
I know, some people will get offended but to me, Muy Rico is like Anthony Bourdain's series but better - kinder to people and more respectful of the culture. I grew up loving all his culinary travel series but yours is genuinely next level - I absolutely need to watch all the episodes with my mum as I am sure she'll enjoy it a lot too! I am waiting for the full-length compilation though because I absolutely loooved The Salt of The Earth as a movie!
Lots of love Gaz and the team - you are legends!
Just make sure to ask if the beans are cooked in “manteca or aceite” to avoid lard/pork fat. Many places/regions cook their beans, and often times rice, in lard and some don’t.
Best cooking documentary I have ever seen. The only hard part of watching this series is that it leaves me constantly hungry and craving some good Mexican food.
I stayed in Tulum last month and was across the street (literally) from Tapatia Tacos and became friends with Eduardo. He had the best vegan food we have ever had. It was amazing that me and my wife ended up getting his food every single day for lunch since the place we stayed was right there so it felt like he was our personal chef (lol). I highly recommend if you are in the area. I tried everything on the menu and it was all amazing from the tacos, burritos, quesadilla and of course the torta.
Where did you stay?
MexicanAmerican here🙌🏼 I’m so amazed by your cooking skills. I love how you share different cultures. ❤️🥰
It's like watching a movie which pays tribute to culture, history, tradition and food! 🥰🥰🥰
Gaz and Tom I am so impressed with the quality of your educational, cultural, cooking documentary. Gaz, you are a great interviewer and have such a calming presence. Everything you make from scratch looks incredible, and makes me want to recreate the exact same dish. It was fascinating to learn about the caves and see your snorkelling experience. The abundance of fresh, vibrant food in the supermarket was every vegan/vegetarian’s dream. Much love
Yesss! These the travel series is amazing please keep doing these!
Thank you 🙏 please share the video ❤️
These episodes about your trip to Mexico are sooooooooo good! Easily my favorite videos you and your team have created.
Gaz you've really upped your game. I LOVE the excellence poured into this series. Your love and curiosity of food allows you to connect positively with the people and culture. I am blessed by it.❤️
This whole series is a work of art! Including the food! It is so professional and well put together. You can tell you and your team worked hard on it! You should have your own show on mainstream TV for sure! I can't wait to see the next one. 😊
That crunch at 23:46 is everything. My mouth involuntarily secreted all kinds of juices.
Hard to believe that this is a youtube series. It’s as good as some cooking shows on Netflix - loved it so much ❤
We’re still waiting for the next chapter! 🤩
The little boy at Tapatía was mesmerized with you 🤗
Greetings from Mexico 💚
This is some of your best work! Felt like im watching a netflix series. Well done Gaz and Tom 😊👏👏👏
It would be amazing if you went to Guadalajara! Its such a wonderful area. I was born and raised very near it and long to go back home. Thank you for the attention to detail and love you share for the Mexican culture. Que viva México 🇲🇽❤️
Not only is the content itself gorgeous and educational, it is also so respectfully captured. I love this series really much - from a viewer's perspective, from a foodie's perspective and from an editor/videographer's perspective. I love how you capture the lives of these lovely people and provide us viewers with an insight into the everyday's life of Mexicans. Further I appreciate your/your team's effort in grading and editing the footage carefully to end up with such a lovely video. It's not just a cooking video. It is a work of art containing all things I love. Thank you so much for your effort and I can't wait for Episode 4! (hach how I would love to help your team film and edit your videos. I feel like I could learn so so much! :) )
Gosh, this makes me miss Mexico. I spent two months in and about Oaxaca way back when. It's such a beautiful culture and they have incredible food!
You are getting better and better, Gaz. Brilliant in everything you do 🧡
This series is so awesome. The colors, the foods, the interactions, it’s all admirable. Thank you for sharing this perspective of Mexico in a new and delicious way! 😋
Gaz, your and Tom’s efforts to make the Mexico videos shine throughout. Congratulations on your wonderful work. Your respect for Mexican culture and food, and your infectious enthusiasm made this so fun to watch. Keep being YOU, Gaz, you are a bright light and a wonderful ambassador for veganism! With gratitude from New Jersey 🥰 🌱. PS: Love love love your beautiful gardening videos too!

Gaz this series puts such a big smile on my face. The beautiful colours and culture of mexico, all shot in your signature vibrant style, with your heart warming personality, and most importantly the championing of vegan food - Muy rico!! Thank you so much for this content. It genuinely makes me want to visit Mexico, and I'm pretty sure it will be our next big trip now because of this series. Please keep them up - even if they don't get as many views as some of your other videos, they are really my favorite videos of yours so far. I really look forward to seeing some more series - india? South east asia? The possibilities are endless!
wow im half mexican myself and im loving these videos! good job bro! tortas ahogadas is one of my favorite dishes
I felt for you when i saw you cutting everything with a bread knife !! Thanks for this amazing shared experience in Mexico ! So beautiful and inspiring !!!
I don’t think I can express how much I’ve been enjoying the Mexico videos!!! Just too much good food and amazing people
we have a young Mexican renting from us at this time....most time my home smells like a giant taco... His joy is in climbing...
Viendo como tu hamaste mi tierra hizo qué tenga un gran respeto para ti. Muchas gracias por enseñar mi tierra como de veras es. La jente, la comida y tradición es el amor de México, es sagrado!
I appreciate you gaz taking time to do right thing for the animals
Vegan community needs more content like this !!! I was desperately looking for a positive veg food travel show and found this on reddit :-)
I feel defrauded by RUclips for not showing me this video. We need to organize a pitchfork mob against the algorithm. But in all seriousness, this is phenomenal and chill, Gaz. The bit of animation didn’t go unnoticed either.
I always bring a couple knives on vacation. I also sometimes schlep my grain mill - fresh milled grains for flours is next level - taste, texture, flavor can't be beat and phytonutrient retention is unlike any purchased flour or milled grain .
Im so glad i found this series, the excitement you have for the mushrooms is just so amazing its adding years into my lifespan!!!!!!!!
Looks so delicious 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a great day everyone 🌻
OMG! Gaz, you were in Oaxaca!!! I live here!!! Please come back and do a pop up 😄
I love your work! So classy, professional. I love you combining food prep, with travel. Thank you, I love your energy, look forward to future videos.

Cave diving was my favorite part when I was in Mexico! Jelly as helly!
would love a house tour also, not so much because i want to see inside the home, but because of the beautiful plants that i keep seeing in little snap shots of your home. I love plants and am always supper excited when i see lots of plants in a home.
Finally!! I couldn't wait for it! Amazing!
This video does such a nice job of honoring the locals without being exploitative. It's also just fun to watch. Good on you for making the effort to speak the language, too! Wonderful work, Gaz.
