    Great video, picked up my sapphire sandwich recently while traveling abroad since dollar was so strong and saved a pretty penny. Fantastic watch, wearable everyday as I own a rose gold Daytona and can’t wear out in public with current state of crime across America . This speedy wears so under the radar, and definitely can be dressy, or casual with leather or nato straps. I totally understand the hype with the speedy, as it’s quickly become my favorite in my collection

    Fabulous watch, wear it in good health. I always wanted one and worried about the size, tried this 3861 today, with the new bracelet it felt one of the nicest watches I've ever worn on the wrist. Ive similar wrist sizes to you and I am soon going to pull the trigger on this. Looks great on you, thanks for your review :)

    Got mine a couple of years ago with the Hesalite crystal. The astronauts on the Apollo 13 mission all wore this watch and in the movie, it was the one used to time the course correction burn. Neil Armstrong's is still on the surface of the moon in his landing module. FYI, scratches can be easily removed with Polywatch or a fine plastic polish applied very gently and buffed with a microfiber cloth.

    A great watch, I am defiantly going to buy this but I'm leaning towards the sapphire variant - it will be my first Omega. I also love the new Explorer which I hope to pick up over the next couple of years. I think the Speedmaster and the Explorer is a great combination to have in your collection. • @GaganKPolska
      @GaganKPolska  2 года назад +3

      I would choose a Rolex Explorer mainly because 36mm works for my wrist, but only at the retail price. Secondary market prices are ridiculous at the moment, and going to Rolex AD in even worse.

  • @nikhilmalikin
    @nikhilmalikin 2 года назад

    Hi Gagan - one question if I may - why didn’t you go in for the Saphire one - was it just the price? And which one would you buy in hindsight or recommend.

    • @GaganKPolska
      @GaganKPolska  2 года назад +1

      Hi Nikhil, definitely the price. But both have their pros and cons, I prefer the closed backcase of Hesalite and it's very cheap to replace with a new one after several years of wear and tear. I also like the story of the astronauts, the reason why they use Hesalite in the space is because when Hesalite breaks, it breaks into small pieces that can be collected floating around in zero gravity and if a saphire breaks in zero gravity, the little shards of glass can enter eyes and mouth when floating around.
      You can't go wrong with either. I would prefer to have saphire but don't have any regrets.

    • @nikhilmalikin
      @nikhilmalikin 2 года назад +1

      @@GaganKPolska thanks Gagan. Yes, I knew the differences between the two. I’m planning to buy the Saphire one since I like to see the mechanism and I prefer it to be scratch proof. Good to connect!

    • @GaganKPolska
      @GaganKPolska  2 года назад +1

      You should be able to get a decent idea from Chrono24, but more or less, you should be able to sell your watch for 15-20% less than the retail price to a watch dealer. So try and get 10-15% discount off the AD.

    • @GaganKPolska
      @GaganKPolska  2 года назад +3

      It's not that bad. The watch stops working, you set the time, wind it and starts again. Same can happen with an automatic watch, it's been a week since you last wore the watch and you need to wind it manually.

      It's fine, first couple scratches hurt but then it's no big deal. My watch, my scratches 😁 You're going to have dents and scratches. And it's cheap to replace. But if it's something you really care about, get Saphire version.
