    I would say to have an accurate test you would need to measure the delta or difference in hot side and cold side coolant of the radiator under a load. then add the additive and repeat the test. the thermostats are going to regulate the temperature of the engine to its ideal operating temperature at an idle. what needs to be tested is a condition in which the thermostats are wide open where the coolant system is rejecting as much heat as possible. such as under a load.

    This is very similar to a product sold by Redline called"WaterWetter". The Porsche that I had years ago, a liquid-cooled 944S, benefited greatly from the use of WaterWetter and a group V synthetic oil. Using the recommended concentration of WaterWetter in distilled water as my engine coolant along with Redline full synthetic dropped my idle coolant temps significantly. The coolant temp was rock solid, regardless of operating conditions. I also noticed an improvement in the engine's oil pressure, especially at idle when it would normally drop. My cooler running engine also had an unanticipated benefit, in that the lower operating temp caused the coolant temp sensor to signal the computer to richen the fuel mixture, thus causing the engine to be more responsive. The decrease in mileage due to the richer fuel mixture was, I believe, probably offset by a gain in efficiency due to more advanced ignition timing. The WaterWetter had built-in corrosion inhibitors, so my aluminum block and head were in no danger. The main drawback was that I could only go for about a year between coolant flushes, as the corrosion inhibitors and water pump lubricants would break down.

      @@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO Thanks for the offer but I think the test that you did with the Hyper lube would pretty much mirror what WaterWetter would do, as I believe they are very similar products. I did use Hyper lube in another car and was not displeased with the results.

    Just so you know there is a measuring chart on the side of the bottle when you pour

  • @digitaljedi420

    READ THE LABEL! The bottle states up to a 25 degree drop, but that is when using straight water and no antifreeze/coolant. The label also breaks down what can be expected when using a typical 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze, which is only about 10 degrees. Expecting a 25 degree drop when using a standard 50/50 mixture is not realistic. Using cheap food grade thermometers is also redundant. To get a REAL temperature reading, it must be read off the on board computer, using the OBD port and a scan tool. The best readings will occur while putting the engine under load, not in the driveway idling. The bottle holds 16oz, you could have just poured in half of it instead of using a syringe, and it can be used in higher concentrations for better performance.. Pointless video, but thanks for trying.

    • @NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO
      @NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO  4 года назад +3

      I don't no where to start first food grade thermometer are precise because raw food is dangerous. Under load it wouldn't be accurate as the load can't be the same. Obd 2 yeah that would be easier but also no the best because the temp would stop within a specific range. 25 degrees is what i state they claim unless you believe people want me to read for 5 mins. Thanks for try though.

    If you want to know if the product is actually transferring heat better, you need to measure the temp of the coolant at the inlet to the radiator, and the temp of the coolant at the output of the radiator. The thermostat is designed to keep the engine within an operating range. So in theory if your engine is running at 190 degrees and the cooling system is just barley able to keep up, the thermostat will be wide open. If your cooling system is extremely efficient, then engine will still be at 190 degrees but the thermostat will open and close, or open only part way to keep the engine temp at 190 degrees. A better test would show the inlet temp of say 200 degrees and an output of say 180 degrees for a 20 degree drop in temp across the radiator. Then, after the additive, say the inlet temp is still 200 degrees, but now the output is 150 degrees, for a 50 degree drop across the radiator. In both examples, the engine temp is the same, but that does not mean the product isn't working. Where you would see it in the engine temp would be in the case of a vehicle that has an inadequate radiator, like my truck. Before the additive, my truck ran at 215 degrees, with the "water wetter" my truck runs at 195 degrees with a 180 degree thermostat.

    Car has a thermostat. It regulates the temperature of the coolant. Adding this won't change the temperature but it may change the thermal efficiencies of the cooling system, allowing it to get rid of the heat faster. Not sure how you'd tell that though. Maybe the amount of time from a cold soak to a certain temperature? Both before and after the additive?

    • @TrojanLube69
      @TrojanLube69 Год назад

      Temperature is controlled by the fans. The thermostat just sets the minimum temperature in which the coolant from the engine flows to the radiator to be cooled.
      Thermostat does not at all controls temperature, is a mere switch to flow coolant to be cooled after reaching optimal operating temperature. it doesn’t control it.
