@@PaulHarrell Paul, I thank you for your tireless dedication to this community and your service and sacrifice to our country. You have lived an amazing life, and I am so appreciative to have learned what I have from you through the years. Thanks for all you have so selflessly shared! I, of course, pray that this won't be the last video from you, but I imagine you want to be remembered with dignity, vs in a chair or bed (unless you're in the rain, at the range, and shooting at targets from "undercover" - LOL! ......My favorite episode of yours!). I hold you in the highest regards, always. To me, you will always be "The man, the myth, the legend"!!!!!!!!!! I commend you for all that you have done....... Bravo!!!
Paul taught me so much. I watched hours of his videos back when I was brand new to concealed carry. He is one of the few sources of information I trust without reservation. You're one of those trusted sources now too, Chris.
"This may be the last time you see me on camera " ripped my heart out. Thank you for everything to date Paul, seriously. I hope to see you on the next video.
Same, honestly rough to hear that. Of course, nothing compared to what he's actually going through, but I do sure hope it isn't the last time we see him on camera.
The shot of him sitting in the truck with the rain is actually very picturesque and worthy of a final camera appearance. Indont know much about shooting or carrying, but I do like going to the range every now and again..finding Paul here on youtube has been an incredible resource. If you read this: Most of us are lame, its okay to be lame. You never were lame. You're one of the special ones.
Cancer is such a drain on your moral.. so if this small gesture by the internet can bring a little happiness to such a great man in his darkest hour then we did a good thing. The Gun Community are all praying for him and I hope he knows it.
I was previously subbed, but apparently “unsubbed” by the overlords. Resubbed now. Thankfully was made aware of this rally by attorney Tom Grieve’s channel. Strong work 2A community!
"Probably the last time you see me on camera" hit me harder than a 12 gauge. Paul, even if you are in a Lazy Boy recliner with an IV in your arm, I would still listen to your narrations, Introductions, and Conclusions for as long as it is enjoyable for you. So glad that Roy and crew have accepted the legacy. We will never forget you. Thank you for your contribution to firearm education.
Paul, I have an antidote (uhh... anecdote) to share with you. I recently went to my local Goodwill store to buy 3 fleece blankets to make a camping bed for my dog. When I got to the checkout, the young man at the counter looked at me quizzically and said "High-tech fleece bullet stop?" You have touched a lot of people's lives! Praying for strength and peace in your heart!
A friend and I met Paul at a remote range in Eastern Oregon a couple of years back. We were able to help out with a crew member who was having some tummy issues, and later Paul treated my friend and I to some personal training time. He is a great human being, a great teacher, and a very real, down-to-earth person. Our thoughts and prayers are with him always.
"This might be the last time you see me on camera and I'm lame." --- No Mr. Harrell, you're not lame and I am going to miss you in these videos. God Speed!
@gregorymulkins2544 he has pancreatic cancer, he also broke his hip a few months ago. Somewhere in his archives he spoke on it. So stoic, he even said he didn't want to really talk much about it or want people's sympathy. Not sure why the good ones get the short straw
Yep, no matter how long his time on earth will be the things he's shared with us will keep going. I hope people have his videos saved and downloaded in case RUclips goes the way everything else does.
Paul, you never need to apologize for sitting at the back end of a video. We're all glad that you had the energy to grace us with your presence. Thank you.
Don't apologize Paul. You're an inspiration. Our kids and grandkids will be watching your channel for knowledge and entertainment for many years to come. Thank you!
There is an issue: the F-ing RUclips reduces the quality (resolution) of old and “less popular” videos. Having in mind that RUclips is being run by marxists, the gun channels are a clear candidate to this action of destroying the author material.
I like how even in his worst condition, needing a crutch, can’t stand for long, Paul’s form is still crisp Really shows the amount of work he’s put in over the years God bless you Paul, hope we see you again, but if not, thanks for everything
We love you Paul. The gun community will never forget you. Your videos will forever be watched and enjoyed by everyone. I hope you get that gold play button sooner than later.
Over 824,000 people subscribed and appreciate you, sir. No need to apologize. Please (if you can and wish to) continue to appear on camera…..even seated indoors if you choose! You have no need to demonstrate your prowess with a firearm!! Your knowledge and your wonderful delivery of it is primarily what garnered you almost a million strangers who hang on your every word! We appreciate you and wish the very best. God speed, Mr. Harrell!!
If I may, you might be interested to know that his hat is a Jones cap. He mentioned it in one of his videos. He is an American icon. Thousands of people are wishing for his recovery in spite of the heavy odds.
I hope this isn't the last time we see you on camera Paul. If it is, I want you to know that I will miss your presence here and will miss your words of wisdom. You have a keen analytical mind and you have given me much to think about over the years! I have what I believe to be a very good sense of character and right from the beginning I had the sense that you were a man worthy of my respect and I've come to admire you! I not only want to thank you for all you've done here for all of us, but more for all you've done for your country. Godspeed Paul🙏❤️
Stage 4 colon cancer here 5 surgeries and 34 rounds of chemo....battling for the last 2.5 years ... just do the best you can take the good advice you get and discard the bad...God bless you
Wilderness mocks Paul. He ignores it. Wilderness threatens Paul. He shrugs it off. Sends a hail storm. Paul is unphased. Finishes video in epic style that has made him rightly famous. That, my friends, is what you call a professional. No mush statement to follow: You’re a legend Paul. Still strong of mind and perseverance. God bless, and we all salute you.
Paul, no BS, you've been my favorite "gun guy" on YT for years. No tacti-beard, no outrageous antics, just smooth instruction and logical insights. Learned a lot from you. Thank you, Sir!
Paul and Ian are the absolute best of the 'serious' gun tubers. Always super educational and knowledgeable, and it's sad they never got to do a colab I'm aware of. There's some great channels for watching ridiculous experiments and things going boom, but with Paul you actually learn something in a very clear format. And his dry humor is just the best.
Paul Harrell and gunblue490 are my go to channels. Ian for firearm history, Robski for technique, Joel Purcell (GunguyTV) for general information including updates on ATF (spit) and court cases.
Same here. Also one of the only guys around without sponsors, stopping mid-video to promote some website. I understand it pays the bills, but Paul's productions just seem so much more genuine without it.
Cmon Paul, we're guning for you. -I met Paul in Rickreal Oregon almost a year ago. He had tons of guns out to show others, everyone was talking with him asking questions all day. He stood by his table and was so Interested in talking with others. I couldn't believe he was there!
Until Valhalla Paul. Unfortunately I'm fighting cancer too, so it may not be too long. You've taught me a ton, and entertained me at the same time. Thank you for everything.

Please don't ever feel the need to apologize Mr. Harrell. You've been here for years now, teaching us valuable lessons about real world firearm usage and making us laugh along the way. I thank you for all of the knowledge you've passed down and helping me become a better gun owner and better shooter. Sitting at the range, sitting in the cab of your truck, sitting at your kitchen table...it wouldn't matter, none of it would be lame. I will miss you greatly Paul. I rarely get chocked up over celebrities or people I don't know being sick or moving on, but your videos have been a great source of valuable entertainment and I will never forget you. Thank you again Paul.
Donut and Kentucky sent me. Praying for you my friend. I just now found your channel. I doubt you will even see my comment. But thank you for being a member of the gun community and from what I've heard an amazing person. Love ya man
I'm not American, nor a gun owner, and have very limited experience with firearms. Despite this, I've been watching Paul for around six years and he has been, and continues to be, an inspiration in my career in education just by how he conveys information and applies an objective lens. A virtual mentor; long may it continue.
Never too late to become an American and a gun owner. A British friend of mine went through the process of owning guns in the USA, he doesn't regret it.
I'm here, sitting at my desk, drinking bourbon on a Thursday tearing up like a little biatch for some dude that I never met. The internet sure is a wonderful place. Thank you, Paul. For everything.
You're not alone my internet Brother. Mr. Harrell is an absolute Top Man, a Fantastic Human Being and around Good Man. I can't believe how unapologetically unfair and tough life is, no notice no warning just Good People getting slapped with heartbreaking situations. I've never once in my life had the pleasure to meet and shake Mr. Paul's hand, but I've got a level of respect for the Man and get emotional about his current battle. Life sure can be cruel. I'll continue praying daily for Paul Harrell, and always take a shot/beer in his Glory.
I found Paul's content when my Pops was passing from Cancer. It was a light in the dark. The first video I ever saw was the guns working under the covers presentation.

Looking forward to continuing the journey with Roy!
I confess that I've been avoiding the last few videos from Paul because, despite not knowing him personally, he's been a big influence on me, and the thought of losing him is hard to handle. I'm coming into this one now not just for my love of the Mozambique drill, but because I wanted to comment in hopes that maybe there's a slim chance Paul might actually see this... I feel like I do know you; well enough anyways. I'm really going to miss you, Paul.
While calmly filming a video for us in a hail storm, he says, "This may be the last time you ever see me on camera." There was more than just a lesson on shooting tactics being taught here today. Thank you Mr. Harrell.
PAUL IS ALSO TO GUNS WHAT CHUCK CONNORS IS TO THE RIFLEMAN. At 68 years old, the rifle man was my go to show Then Paul came along. Another man of PRIDE, KNOWLEDGE, n INTEGRITY. THANK YOU 🙏 PAUL 🔫.

The end of the video is a good testament to his dedication to teaching others. Rain snow or sleet was irrelevant. He is always dedicated to his viewers.
If this is indeed Paul's last video, then, he sure ended it with some of the most wild weather I think I have ever seen. Love it. I do hope we can see more of you but I understand if you can't.

Paul, I once emailed you about a question I had. Even with 800k followers you got back to me in less than 24 hours. I've learned more from your presentations than I can say. I think I'll always regret not driving to see you at the gun show last year. Thank you for everything.
You could be sitting in a lounge chair and talking and I would still watch and listen. Thank you for all your words of wisdom and teaching over the years.
Paul, I truly admire your physical and mental strength to keep putting yourself through the pain, to make these videos. I'm setting here with tears running down my cheeks. My daughter died from pancreatic cancer in November. I truly understand the pain.
I hate to hear this. I know there are no words I can say to express your pain. But I do fully understand how you feel. I lost my only daughter, Brandi-33, to cancer 2-1/2 years ago. She left me 2 great, young grandkids. I'll admit, I've had a very hard time dealing with her death. But my family have been a great comfort. I truly hope that you family and friends to help you in this time. I wish you the best Sir.
I didn't own a firearm untill 2020 and your videos have given me so much guidance I can't thank you enough. Thanks you for your service and if theres a heaven you'll be floating up there with a fully loaded Beretta 92fs. God bless Paul.
Paul, its a rare video I comment on, I don't even subscribe to any channels. But since a few years ago, when I found a video of someone who had dragged a bed to a range to shoot at the target from under covers, I knew you were a rare gem to follow. Thank you so much for the education and entertainment you've provided over the years, I wish you and your family the best.
The first time I ever saw one of Paul's videos, he was doing a drive-by on a bicycle. I said, "what the hell"? So I clicked on another video and Paul was in a bed shooting from under the covers. I've been watching ever since. God Speed, Paul Harrell. You picked up a gun and touched a lot of lives.
This is the first RUclips comment I have ever made Paul. I have been watching you for years. You have been my favorite channel and given me the most useful information and insight I could ever ask for. Appreciate you and your work, with incredible humor and humility. I will be watching your videos for years to come. You are loved
You could sit in your recliner at home and tell stories to us and you'd have a huge following. You have so much knowledge and have a special gift for telling stories.
As a disabled person who can only really handle .22's, I've greatly appreciated your videos on that caliber over the years, and it's given me a lot more confidence in it. Thanks a bunch, Paul.

Paul, I have watched you for almost 10 years. You are the epitome of professionalism, knowledge, and class in your field of expertise. Thank you for all you have provided for the 2A community. We love you and we are praying for you.
As an aircraft mechanic, I sympathize with Paul's frustration over the That'll Never Happen Battalion. For instance I was told many times, _"there's no point in having life vests and floating seat cushions because a jet aircraft would inevitably break up upon hitting the water and no one would be around to need them."_ Then Sully did his thing on the Hudson and suddenly that criticism was put to bed. Still, other silly ideas persist such such as, _"the crash position won't help you because everyone's gonna be reduced to paste on impact."_ I think what happens is people get the one most dramatic image of the event in their heads and never consider any other way it might happen. Sure, if the plane augers in at 400mph, the crash position is useless. However if the plane simply overshoots the runway and runs across the grass at 80mph, that can be a violent but eminently survivable incident, IF you take one simple precaution to make sure you don't end up with massive head trauma or a shredded spine, which is precisely what the crash position is designed to minimize. So too with self-defense shootings, there are tons of ways it can go down. Some of them might take you beyond any reasonable training, but many of them could easily give you opportunities to come out ahead IF you have the forethought to take advantage of them.
That type of thinking was rampant in height of GWOT. I had instructors and very knowledgeable people tell me things like, " The bandoliers, stripper clips, and speed loaders the ammunition comes with are useless. You'll never have to load magazines while taking fire." Or, "fighting holes and defensive lines will never be used again." That stuff was true for most guys doing counter-insurgency, sure. But we're seeing that it's wrong in lot of places right this moment. I think we did a lot of people a disservice by placing so much emphasis on special operations and over-learning the lessons of GWOT. I had lot of friends in that field, and they are some of the best in the business, but there was a culture problem in that people treated them as if they had a monopoly on knowledge and proficiency of skill, which lead to a lot of other guys not getting as much experience as they could have. And they are now in charge and have to relearn a bunch of stuff.
I got the same when I was in the service. In the Gulf War I was a gunner on an M60A1 main battle tank. After we got back stateside we retrained on the M1A1. The M1 is completely different to the old M60, so much so that they changed the names of various components for no apparent reason other than to change stuff. For example, track pads are now called track shoes, the cupola is now the Commanders Powered Weapons Station, the gunner's cadillacs are now the Gunner's Power Control Handles, etc. ad nausium. Anyhow, they assigned one instructor per tank crew. As he is taking us around this new tank and showing us this gizmo and that thingamajig, I was coming up with questions. If this happens, what do I do? Is there a work around if that breaks? How do I do X with Y? Instead of saying, "Good question. I'll find out.", his answers were either "That would never happen." or "That's not important." Eventually they transitioned to "Shut the f*** up." But he was a sergeant and I was only a corporal. I very rarely like to "toot my own horn" but by then I may have been only a corporal but my fruit salad was already three or four rows high and included two Sea Service Deployment, three Southwest Asia Service Medals, a Kuwait Liberation Medal, a Meritorious Unit Citation, a Naval Unit Citation, and a Combat Action ribbon. I'd personally shot over $200,000 worth of ammo and had been shot at by everything from rifle fire to mortars to artillery (not always from enemy tubes), to tanks. I've been stuck in minefields, had to repair track in the middle of burning oil fields, and had so much TOW missile wire draped across my tank that you had to cut your way out of the hatch. I've shot engagements where you could only just barely identify targets and only knew that they were the enemy because they were in front of you. I was a second generation Marine Tanker, my father having served in the same battalion in Vietnam in '65. So when I asked a question I wasn't just pulling wild ideas out of my ass. At the end of the four week retraining, we were given a form to fill out to give our input into what we thought of the training, the only time in six years the Corps ever asked what I thought. So I told them. In as much detail as I could. We could turn in these forms anonymously. I printed and signed with my name, rank, unit, and every bit of contact info I could think of. I wanted whomever was reading these to know exactly who I was and exactly who I was complaining about and exactly why. I never heard back from that.
I'm sure you guys are a little nervous trying to film the video in place of Paul, Just take your time and relax a little bit. Alot of viewers here appreciate you guys trying to keep things going. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

The "Longwinded Anecdotes with Paul" channel? 🤞
Same here,
Paul, I have an antidote (uhh... anecdote) to share with you.
🤣 Fantastic!!
That's awesome
The high-tech fleece bullet stop is universally recognized as the peak of human technology. Patent pending, or at least it'd better be.
That made me laugh! I'm sure you laughed to when you met your new best friend at the goodwill store.
I guess the patent application is going to be withdrawn now... @@randytrashcan
God Speed!
Don't know what is wrong with you but I wish you a full and speedy recovery and I love you like a brother God bless you and your family
@gregorymulkins2544 he has pancreatic cancer, he also broke his hip a few months ago. Somewhere in his archives he spoke on it. So stoic, he even said he didn't want to really talk much about it or want people's sympathy. Not sure why the good ones get the short straw
You never have to apologize to us Paul. Thank you for being you, and for your tremendous contribution to the culture.
Paul is a giant that actually did something for alot of people...something helpful that will last forever, thank you Paul.
"If you're trained, you will do what you're trained to do."
Thank you Paul.
Succinct, isn't it. That line initially went through one ear and out the other, but reading it gave me a second to honestly reflect.
That includes shooting your Ticondas without reserve thought.
I'm going to miss you, Paul. I've been watching you for years.
I like how even in his worst condition, needing a crutch, can’t stand for long, Paul’s form is still crisp
Really shows the amount of work he’s put in over the years
God bless you Paul, hope we see you again, but if not, thanks for everything

Paul, no BS, you've been my favorite "gun guy" on YT for years. No tacti-beard, no outrageous antics, just smooth instruction and logical insights. Learned a lot from you. Thank you, Sir!
Paul and Ian are the absolute best of the 'serious' gun tubers. Always super educational and knowledgeable, and it's sad they never got to do a colab I'm aware of. There's some great channels for watching ridiculous experiments and things going boom, but with Paul you actually learn something in a very clear format. And his dry humor is just the best.

Same!

Still, other silly ideas persist such such as, _"the crash position won't help you because everyone's gonna be reduced to paste on impact."_
I think what happens is people get the one most dramatic image of the event in their heads and never consider any other way it might happen.
I'll find out.", his answers were either "That would never happen." or "That's not important." Eventually they transitioned to "Shut the f*** up."
But he was a sergeant and I was only a corporal.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to write such thoughtful comments. You guys are the BEST (and thank you from a noncombat Army vet).
I'm sure you guys are a little nervous trying to film the video in place of Paul, Just take your time and relax a little bit. Alot of viewers here appreciate you guys trying to keep things going. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

Although we have never met I’ve always found your videos entertaining, informative and educational.
Thank you for everything sir.
Godspeed!
Yep. I believe you have assessed Paul Harrell correctly.
Better than I could have said it.
God Bless Paul. We're all thankful for you being here.
May God bless you and comfort you Paul. Thank you for all you have shared with us, may you be in the arms of your savior.
Paul taught me so much, and I'm going to miss him. He was a real one who made videos for viewers and not views. Never selling out and being true to himself and real to everyone.
If Paul truely is dying, he might do this 1st.
"My loadout is yours for the taking, but you're going to have to find it first. I left every gun I own... in One Piece..."
You're acting like he's already dead. I wouldn't count him out, something tells me he's a fighter.
@@dirtskattzCancer cares little if you’re a fighter or not. I’ve seen many in my family and close proximity to me die because of cancer despite fighting it with everything they had. While this is not to sound overly pessimistic, one should face the fact that Paul’s type of cancer has a very high mortality rate.
@@Buttsmcgee069 Life has a very high mortality rate. And yet, here we are.
@@Buttsmcgee069 Catching pancreatic cancer early enough is survivable, his was caught early. Dont count him out.
Paul is creating content with grace. Long live Harrell.
This may be the last NEW video we see you in, Paul, but I will certainly be revisiting your content for years and years to come. Meat target forever!
Thank you.
And the high tech fleece stop.
👍👍👍👍

We do the best we can, and if sitting in a car to finish something that brings you joy and serves your passions, then it is damn well more than enough. Thank you for everything you have done, the humor, the insight, sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience, setting the record straight many times over and for the precedent that you have set for being an all around good human. May this life you have lived pay the debts you have owed, and may our debts to you bring you peace in knowing that you made a difference.
I know a ton of people have already said this, and I'm not sure if you will see this, but I want to say thank you so much for everything you have taught us. You are truly one of the greats. I wish you all the best.
Paul you have nothing to apologize for at all. You have given us your all for many many years. I hope this isnt your last video, but if it is just know you will be missed immensely.
Hi Paul! Great to see you. Hope you’re well. Thanks for being the best firearms teacher I’ve ever had.
Paul all I can say is YOU have never wasted my time. I thank you sir!
Paul please dont apologize for life happening. Thanks for all your insight through the years. You are a true American badass. God speed good sir!
Closing up in a hailstorm is about the most Paul Harrell thing ever.
“If it ain’t rainin”….
We didn't have guns in my family when I was growing up. It's thanks to channels like this that I am where I am today, and I can't explain how much I appreciate the content Paul has uploaded over the years.
He’s a beacon of knowledge
Hence certain types trying to limit the natural growth of these kinds of channels
I grew up in a house without guns. What triggered my fascination was when an old guy on my paper route showed me his cool gun collection. But I didn't start my own till being discharged from the Marine Corps. Then it really took off.
Same. Much of my firearms knowledge and safety is owed to Paul.
I don’t own any weapons,. Aside from a Swiss Army knife. I have been a viewer for many years. You represent integrity and remain committed to facts and teach discipline. I am glad you leave nut case political views out of this venue. Thank you, for everything. You have left us with years worth of viewing here. Your teaching skills are complimented by your outstanding skills regarding firearms and and curiosity. Thank you Paul.
Paul you are in our prayers, thanks for everything you have done for the shooting community.
Paul,
Meeting you at Yardbirds with Elly in tow was a genuinely wonderful moment for me. Thank you for the kindness and grace you showed me that day, and for all the lessons you've taught us.
I think you're really great and I hope we'll be able to get in touch again before we don't have any more chances, but even if we don't get that chance, I'll always appreciate what you've done for the community.
Thank you.
For me your greatest lesson has always been: if it starts to rain, keep filming.
Thank you, sir. For the knowledge and the wisdom.
I am familiar with rain, I choose too believe rain is Gods Promise.
Thanks Paul. What more can I say. Praying for you and your family.
