I don't think anybody in the community was ready for the dedication this man had, and it was truly amazing seeing everybody come together to make these strategies work in the end. Great work!

Not PChal managing to create a script that succinctly told the story enough to be invested in it, even if I knew where it was going, boy's grown a lot with his scripting and storytelling
The peak gigachad energy of shotgunning a beer and then completing a deathless run of one of the hardest nuzlockes every conceived cannot be matched by ANYONE.
This is my fifth time watching this video and it’s just as awesome as the first time. The storytelling combined with the raw emotion is just…perfection.
I was starting the video and going to bed. After 15 minutes I couldnt bear it anymore and dragged myself to the computer to pause the video. The screaming woke me up several times.
Can't wait for a certain Poketuber to say that Prouty cheated for using a savestate to keep 9/10 mons consistent in every playthrough despite the fact that the run is just as difficult with or without that stipulation lol
I'm fairly certain 'that Poketuber' is against any ROM hacks/randomizers to begin with🤔 (I can't recall if that's a fact i heard him say or if I imagined it so take it with a grain of salt lol!)
@@lookie4448 The same person I assume op is talking about: Verlisify. He is very much against hacking/cheating in Pokemon (competitive or personal). One such topic is hacking in a Pokemon with the IVs/nature/moveset instead of breeding the mon (some argue it doesn't make a difference, Verlis argues that the time difference is an advantage for the hacker vs the breeder) He's a controversial topic, and I know a lot of the Pokemon community seems to hate him with a burning passion. I'm neutral towards him- I believe hacking is wrong for competitive play (especially Nationals or other Competitions), and those guilty of it should be called out, but he can be a bit much/stubborn on some things. I can concede a couple exceptions for hacking if it is purely for personal use (like randomizers, modding for a different starter or such like for those challenges you can find on RUclips, or a shiny/event mon as long as it only stays in that game) . But that's just my two cents😞
Him looking down during those rng sections of the e4 reminds me of my childhood playing pokemon for the first time. The passion is both contagious and nostalgic for me. I love this community
I think popoffs have become a little too exaggerated on account of people always trying to outdo one another with their "crazy popoffs" and love going viral. Congratulations to him, that last-second Glacia strat sure paid dividends. Big thanks to the user who forced the Chicken Run, too.
Its really not man. These people put in hundreds of hours just make a run work. And to factor in literal rng you should understand how hype they get when their pokemon holds
An amazing accomplishment and it's really neat to have a video walking through it! However, I will say watching through it was a bit of a trip with the constant swings of quiet commentary to extremely loud popoffs. In the future if the volume could be more consistent throughout or if there were more warnings for loud segments, that would be very appreciated. Great work as always aside from that!
I have to say, as someone who saw your early acomplishments and followed your best nuzlocker moment, seeing you knowingly take the crown out and placing it on the next nuzlocker was beautiful. Claps to both, for the ungodly achievement and to the sportsmanship and integrity shown.
God damn, what a run. I’ve beaten EK on hardcore rules but some of the strats used by him are stuff I never considered despite how obvious some may be.
One of my fav parts of this video, is that Prouty shouting "WE ARE GOING TO STEVEN" is the EXACT same shout, same tone and word for word PKchallenges did himself on his final run
It always seems impossible until it's done. Being put into the situation meant he HAD to come up with a way to do beat it and he did. Big up to the guy what a fucking mad lad.
How does he always guarantee his mons wake up on the right turn? There were multiple times he went into battles with sleeping mons and they always woke up on exactly the turn he needed - and I didn't see sleep talk or chesto berries or anything like that. Does the sleep counter transfer between battles or something?
As long as I appreciate the hype induced by watching him winning these hard battles, I surely wish that you edited your voice to be louder so I wouldn't have to switch between normal volume to hear your comments, and 2 to avoid his eardrums destroying screeches
i like how people are dead-set on trying to put this game in front of people's eyes as the "hardest" romhack because crystal kaizo was too much for them that said, deathless HC locke of EK *is* indeed a crazy achievement
35:55 You notice how the music matches the mood and tone of the situation Prouty is in? As the music gets lower, he checks around for any other choices. The music stagnates for a bit before sounding a little triumphant, he has found the play and the gamble he needs to win As Jirachi goes for thunderbolt, the 1st main part of the song plays, the suspense of waiting for that health bar to drop to see the outcome, whether it crit or not As Mirror Coat is about to hit, the 2nd main part of the song plays, the decisive victor has almost been settled, as he waits in anticipation, the music getting higher and higher as the Jirachi’s HP bar drops to zero And finally at the end, victory trumpets play at both the end of the song and at the beginning of the tune that plays once you beat Steven It’s not very important but it’s cool, I wonder if Prouty felt like a main character as this went on
I've seen a lot of people mention it please please please normalise the audio for videos like this. The differences in the volume range is enough that I was close multiple times to not watching the rest of the video. The fact that you put a warning for the first pop off and I had to turn the audio to basically nothing and couldn't tell when the voice over had started again is a big issue.

I've never heard of this guy, but he is psychotic. Love him and I'm glad to see him claim the crown, he definitely earned it
What an insane run holy crap, thanks for covering it PC
This is my fifth time watching this video and it’s just as awesome as the first time. The storytelling combined with the raw emotion is just…perfection.
Blaziken gonna have permenant back-pain with all this carrying
I was starting the video and going to bed. After 15 minutes I couldnt bear it anymore and dragged myself to the computer to pause the video. The screaming woke me up several times.
Can't wait for a certain Poketuber to say that Prouty cheated for using a savestate to keep 9/10 mons consistent in every playthrough despite the fact that the run is just as difficult with or without that stipulation lol
It’s easier with that stipulation. Just a fact. Doesn’t take away from it
I'm fairly certain 'that Poketuber' is against any ROM hacks/randomizers to begin with🤔 (I can't recall if that's a fact i heard him say or if I imagined it so take it with a grain of salt lol!)
@@Rob-b2q8pIt's less attempts, but not less difficulty. The run dies as soon as those encounters don't happen.
who are you talkin' bout, out of curiosity? @@afandomatrandom
@@lookie4448 The same person I assume op is talking about: Verlisify. He is very much against hacking/cheating in Pokemon (competitive or personal). One such topic is hacking in a Pokemon with the IVs/nature/moveset instead of breeding the mon (some argue it doesn't make a difference, Verlis argues that the time difference is an advantage for the hacker vs the breeder)
He's a controversial topic, and I know a lot of the Pokemon community seems to hate him with a burning passion.
I love this community
this chad is a professional upstairs neighbour
Can't wait for you to open up next video with "Hey i'm pokémonchallenges, and i'm probably the SECOND best nuzlocker in the world..."
I feel like when a difficulty hack is able to be run as a deathless nuzlocke, the time has come for a redux of that hack to make it *even harder*
Bro played perfectly and still had to rely on missing a 1/16th chance 28 times to make it - there's hardly any building on that
@@roberthansen5727 theres always building on it :)
@@roberthansen5727how about every battle you need to dodge a crit, instead of just 28
That doesnt make the game harder, it just adds unfair rng and removes agency @@utopias187
@@utopias187 then its not difficult its just dumb rng
You know a video is well made when you know the ending... but still feel the anxiety. Great job.
Happy New Year everybody. Best of luck in 2024.
I think popoffs have become a little too exaggerated on account of people always trying to outdo one another with their "crazy popoffs" and love going viral.
Congratulations to him, that last-second Glacia strat sure paid dividends.
Big thanks to the user who forced the Chicken Run, too.
Yeah it comes across as so forced and fake. Really just cringe
@@Stratocaster42u do realize he had been doing this for literal HUNDREDS of hours… ud expect emotion…
@universalplayz7496 Yeah. Actual emotion though. Not forced emotion, I guess.
That's ridiculous lol, dude has been working for this over a year, he's allowed to be excited that he accomplished something he worked hard for.
33:09 The moment where Jan hands his World’s Greatest Nuzlocker crown to someone else
I have to say, as someone who saw your early acomplishments and followed your best nuzlocker moment, seeing you knowingly take the crown out and placing it on the next nuzlocker was beautiful. Claps to both, for the ungodly achievement and to the sportsmanship and integrity shown.
Don't ask what happened to prouty's misdreavus on Expert Macy and Hex Maniac Sylvia! 😳
What happened?
@@keyboardstudios6960 it died to perish song and he reloaded an earlier save file
Why was it allowed/ ok there to reload?
Was it in this run?
@@Mayochip227 yeah
I see why one of Pchal's all-time favorites is Zangoose because holy sh*t that thing is a monster.
NO FUCKING WAY HE ALMOST THREW WITH THE ROAR 😂
The comedy of the massive Wailord sprite at 22:42 is immense :p
Hes using the well known "no bad things will happen if i dont look" - strat
God damn, what a run. I’ve beaten EK on hardcore rules but some of the strats used by him are stuff I never considered despite how obvious some may be.
One of my fav parts of this video, is that Prouty shouting "WE ARE GOING TO STEVEN" is the EXACT same shout, same tone and word for word PKchallenges did himself on his final run
Would be cool if you linked their VOD/channel in the description, comments, or anywhere. :)
It has been added!
@@tyronesmith5014Yay!
Now i understand why Pokémon Company hates rom hacks because it is fun to play and challenging than the vanilla.
A truly insane run, but ngl I cringed at these popoffs lol.
Jan's brains, Alpharad's gambler instincts. The ultimate nuzlocking lifeform.
When hes in the elite 4 its such a rollercoster of emotion especially on glacia
It always seems impossible until it's done. Being put into the situation meant he HAD to come up with a way to do beat it and he did. Big up to the guy what a fucking mad lad.
How does he always guarantee his mons wake up on the right turn? There were multiple times he went into battles with sleeping mons and they always woke up on exactly the turn he needed - and I didn't see sleep talk or chesto berries or anything like that. Does the sleep counter transfer between battles or something?
Yes sleep transfers between battles, so you can guarantee wake ups
yeah i think so
he uses up 3 sleep turns pre-battle and wakes up on the fourth
@@LocallyConstantDuckOh, I actually didn't know that. That's super helpful.
Man this guy’s luck and spontaneous plays are UNREAL
I just felt like somebody should mention that he has a shiny slowbro for this run. thats pretty cool.
He has a shiny milo and kanga too at least, I am assuming they are modded to be as the odds of that are astronomically impossible XD
He probably changes it with EK hex, I do that when I run EK lol
I love how even Pchal is like "nope, title's his, I'm not even going to attempt this bullshit"
so what im hearing is pchal finally has a fair matchup
"all we needed was a chicken and a dream" is a hell of a line. Absolutely majestic
3:37 - he didn’t nickname his camperupt, therefore didn’t play by nuzlocke rules. Hate to see an attempt like this fail :(
That rule is so petty, like honestly it has no impact on gameplay so it doesn't disqualify the run in my eyes.
As long as I appreciate the hype induced by watching him winning these hard battles, I surely wish that you edited your voice to be louder so I wouldn't have to switch between normal volume to hear your comments, and 2 to avoid his eardrums destroying screeches
It would be nice if you could either make yourself louder or the VOD quieter as its annyoing to keep switching volume. Otherwise great video!
The sheer combination of luck and mathematical skill needed to pull this off never ceases to amaze me. What an absolute king.
Great video, sadly ruined by the volume difference between pchal and prouty which make it painful to watch.
i like how people are dead-set on trying to put this game in front of people's eyes as the "hardest" romhack because crystal kaizo was too much for them
that said, deathless HC locke of EK *is* indeed a crazy achievement
I started my first nuzlocke yesterday! It's harder than it looks! 😅
Best of luck mate, which game did you choose?
Lots of people start
View people finish
Good luck!
I gotta comment here to get an update too
What game?
Hope you have fun!
I can only imagine the amount of dopamine coursing through PChal’s veins knowing Zangoose was an MVP at some point.
I feel like this whole video needs an audio warning lol
35:55
You notice how the music matches the mood and tone of the situation Prouty is in?
As the music gets lower, he checks around for any other choices. The music stagnates for a bit before sounding a little triumphant, he has found the play and the gamble he needs to win
As Jirachi goes for thunderbolt, the 1st main part of the song plays, the suspense of waiting for that health bar to drop to see the outcome, whether it crit or not
As Mirror Coat is about to hit, the 2nd main part of the song plays, the decisive victor has almost been settled, as he waits in anticipation, the music getting higher and higher as the Jirachi’s HP bar drops to zero
And finally at the end, victory trumpets play at both the end of the song and at the beginning of the tune that plays once you beat Steven
It’s not very important but it’s cool, I wonder if Prouty felt like a main character as this went on
I've seen a lot of people mention it please please please normalise the audio for videos like this. The differences in the volume range is enough that I was close multiple times to not watching the rest of the video. The fact that you put a warning for the first pop off and I had to turn the audio to basically nothing and couldn't tell when the voice over had started again is a big issue.
I tried to make myself watch the whole video but I just couldn't. Prouty screaming like a manchild is too fucking annoying.
Womp womp
Had the video at 5% volume the whole time and still had to mute when prouty's audio was on. So freaking loud, geez
