- This chicken and chicken soup (called Yeonggye-baeksuk in Korean, or 영계백숙) is a simple, communal dish that’s delicious, filling and easy to share with many people. You can skip it if it's not available. I sometimes make this dish without ginseng.

Apollo 440 Exactly, I personally don’t find shame in eating what you want lol it’s a “cultural” view in some places though.
@@alyssatorres5897 cultural standards are divided: some treat others food and resources as fair catch and take as much as they please. While others are taught about giving away the shirt off their back and turning the other cheek. I guess the ones who don't shy away from taking a hefty portion of food are from the first сultural group, and the ones who shy away from satisfying even their needs for food are from the second group.
She is so good at telling her recipes in detail. I live in Korea and I know many Korean recipes but no one can tell me how to cook like her easily. I love maangchi recipe very much.
In Korean home cooking, Samgyetang is cooked with jujube and ginseng with glutinous rice in chicken and stitched with needles.
sam = ginseng.
gye= chicken
tang = porridge
