OMG🙌🙌🙌I have been searching for this song for 20 years!!!!!!!!!! I never knew the band or song name. All I knew was "stay with me........you'll see the trouble I been through today" I could still hear the music as clear as day in my head. I almost started to think I made up this song. But I knew it was out there!! FINALLY, I have found it!!!!!!
I first heard this back in about 1994 when i was 14.... taped it off the radio.... stayed with me all these years. Saw the video for the first time ever today and yes, it feels like everything falls into place! Cosmic!!!!!!! Love it!
I was 10, my parents were going through a divorce, I was an odd kid, and MTV used to play videos. I remember I couldn't sleep at like 330AM and would watch MTV. I remember watching this video in the MTV rotation. I can still remember Mom leaving on the weekends, Dad getting pissed when I would ask where mommy was, and then befriending the TV in my awkwardness. Memories
@tomofmd-I first heard this song while watching MTV's "120 Minutes" back in '94 and I fell in love with it instantly. I searched for this song for 10 years until I stumbled on it back in 2009. You're string theory analogy couldn't be more accurate. I found a used copy of the CD and I've been listening to it ever since. it's great that so many other people were touched by this song, and went on similar quests. It's the ultimate testament to one of the 90's most under appreciated bands.
This song is 1990s alternative. Loved this album ever since I heard it in 94. Makes me remember that music can make you feel something in a world that's forgotten that.
Really good song's, really good musicians, really good singers. I bought this album when it first came out when I was in a withdrawal from when the band Jellyfish broke up. Similar sounds heard throughout Seeds album. The singing and there drummer was what hooked me into learning there songs, along with their song structures. Would love to hear another album by them.
i guess i'm not the only one looking for this song. this song keeps ringing in my head for years when i heard this from a radio station in manila. i typed 'stay with me' in google but didn't have any luck finding the title. thanks so much for posting this.
I actually got to see these guys live at CBGB's back in the 90's. I was very surprised how they harmonized live and it sounded exactly like the album. They were incredible.
This was such a great album! So many great songs, great musicians and songwriters. Unfortunately, I guess they never caught on. I pulled the CD out yesterday and played the whole thing through.
@@TimBurVlogs That's exactly how I heard this for the 1st time. The college I was attending at the time was getting rid of excess "stuff" and had a box of music video VHS tapes with FREE on it and I grabbed a few. I think I may still have them in the attic... Love it!
I can still remember that they made Kyle play the drums facing away from the audience during some of their live shows in Austin, because he was working on improving his timing. The end of the last track on the CD had one of those 90s-style extended endings. At some point, a woman's voice spoke a phone number in German, and it was Dean's home number in Austin at the time.
I never saw them live, but Kyle was an acquaintance who one day offered to let me take one of his drum kits to do a studio demo with the Matt Powell Band. Kyle had several kits and my drums were locked up in WC Clark's tour van. Very cool guy, and I liked their band and album.
This song has been stuck in my head for the past month. So glad I googled it, it's such an epic tune! (Now, if they would only allow embedding so I could share it's greatness on my facebook)
Dude! I've been trying to figure out the title and artist of the song that turned out to be Wish by Coward for more than 14 years! You just solved a long running mystery for me. Thanks mate!
i was on an indiana jones like search for this song for the last 15 or so years. i finally found it!!!! what the fuck do i do now. oh yeah listen to it again!!!!
So cool to see everyone posting their stories on this song - no one I know IRL remembers it! I managed to tape it off the radio in '94 (107.9 The End in Cleveland, baby!) and write down the title and artist. Had a hard time finding it online until a couple years ago. The bass line in this song is just so captivating and catchy, no wonder so many people had it stuck in their heads for 10+ years ;-)
Reliving my youth! I pulled my old cassette tapes out of the closet and started listening to them to make RUclips Music playlists out of them. These were mostly songs taped from the radio in the mid-'90s. My homemade, computer-printed cassette liner identified this song only as a series of question marks. "Shazam" was unable to find a match, likely due to the poor quality of the tape. I put my ear up to the speaker, Googled up some lyrics, and here I am!
The first time I heard this was like a 10 second sample on AOL lol. I liked it so much I went to the used CD place that I frequented and told the owner about it. I was like, all I know is I think the band's name is Seed. He pulled out this giant catalog and looked it up for me, ordered it and I didn't even know if it was the right band until two weeks later lmao. Love that album but man if kids today only knew what it was like back then. The struggle was real.
No problem mate... i think that single was their hit at that time 1997 when i was in college... just a thought, try also this song from Rhette Miller - Come Around, such a cool music.
I head this song once while listening to radio station in Jacksonville Florida in seventh grade. I spent the next 14 years on an Al Bundy like mission to hear it again. All I knew was "Stay with me". When I eventually stumbled upon this video I felt like I just solved string theory.
I'm so with you there man. I heard this track at work, once in '94 only to completey disappear. Like many others, I almost thought I just made it up over years. I knew that was nonsense, as I knew the most basic lyrics, but couldn't find it anywhere. Finally, and I can't recall how but I found it after years of searching I did, and your post was the top at the time. Your AL Bundy comment had me rolling, because that was me for years. Just wanted to give you shout. Great post.
I was in high school when this came out, and although not a hugely popular band, I really love this track. One of my fav;s. When I play it the wife is always like "Who the hell is this again?" LOL!!
@tomofmd Same thing happened to me. Luckily I found it in 2002, but that was still after 8 years searching for it and only remembering the "Stay with me…you'll see the trouble I've been through today" line (which I wasn't even sure of). I just discovered a few minutes ago that another of their songs was featured on the Melrose Place soundtrack.
@tomofmd wow, thats uncannily similar to my same quest... I heard it on the radio for the first time in DC around summer of 94 or 95... never heard the artist mentioned... then I heard it again on the radio 3 years later. I figured the name was "Stay With Me" and searched everywhere (back then lyrics sites were practically inexistent) and still couldn't figure it out. So fast forward about 11 years and somehow I tracked it down and went out and bought the album instantly.
@tomofmd - I have the same sort of story. I heard it in my senior year, and I've spent the past 16 years looking for it, because I could only remember a few words of the chorus. No one knew what the hell I was talking about when I tried to sing it to them. LoL I can't believe I finally found it.
memories....i remember hearing this on kwod 106.5 (no longer on air) in sacramento & x96 in salt lake city summer of 94 when i got out of 9th grade. period of time when i had new found freedom cuz i was getting older and friends were getting their 1st cars. this is one song that takes me back to that awesome as hell summer i'll never forget.
I wish our mall played Seed! We get Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and Top 40 crap :P And I looked up the song you're talking about(never heard of it) and it rules, thanks for the suggestion :)
I think the American public had reached its carrying capacity for big-sounding rock records after the first few Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and STP records, and was also still coming down from overrated garbage like GNR's Use Your Illusion parts 1 & 2. I'd also venture to guess that Seed's vibe was a little too flower-power, jazzy, colorful, and spiritual for a scene that was still largely built on a monochromatic and meatheaded grunge vibe that was working its way towards becoming even _more_ monochromatic and meatheaded (i.e. post-grunge acts like Days of the New and Fuel come to mind). Interestingly, Seed's music actually reminds me quite a bit more of Smashing Pumpkins, but didn't bring along nearly as much teen angst and urban alt-rock window-dressing as Billy Corgan and company and, as such, wasn't bound to succeed to anywhere near the same degree.
The singles like this one are okay, but listen to the album, there's a track called Fortune buried in there that's like a 90s grunge Kashmir and its awesome

by an unexpected chance, I just heard it again on the radio today, I was looking for it 20 years ago. I'm happy to see that it's over.. 2022!!!
I remember seeing seed play at the steamboat in Austin Tx...I always loved this song
The entire album, Ling, is good. I got this video on a alternative music sampler and immediately fell in love!

reminds me of when i was young and free
Anyone that knew the awesomeness of this hidden gem of a band I would love to buy a beer and talk about life, because you are obviously awesome.

2020 and it's still one of my favorite hits. Brings back so many memories.
Sad but the album are no longer in spotify 😔
Never gets old, 90s alternative music rules, I have 2 children now and i will never fail to introduce this kind of music to them 🙂
Most beautiful underrated song
i love the bass line, i think fretless bass is soo mysterious kinda sounds like some sort of brass instrument kinda.
I remember this as a young chap watching rock video monthly vhs tapes. Always loved it.

i love this song :) this album was a fave of mine in high school..
January 19 2022 - listening to this music is such a major throwback!
Wait. They play that sound with the fret less bass?! All these years I thought it was an electric sitar. It definitely sounds like one.
The bass reminds me of the bass from Plush by STP.
They opened for STP back in the day.
@@Bigzig2 i saw them open for STP!!!! i listened to this CD so much back in the day, it got so scratched i couldnt listen to it anymore.
