Collective Soul is near the parts of Georgia where I live and I still never got around to see them in concert. To bad I never saw Dishwalla or Third Eye Blind either. A few good ones I did go to though were Candlebox, Push Monkey, Incubus, even Vanilla Ice at one time lol since my Gf at the time new of his promoter.
Dishwalla was my first concert (with Goo Goo Dolls) at Six Flags in 1996. Seriously one of the best sets i've ever heard in my life. I still jam Pet Your Friends on a regular basis.
My eternal praise and respect to all the bands of the 90's. Nobody makes music like you guys did. It's been an era of great music. I hope someday I could let my child grow up in this era.
My husband had bought me this album in 97. I was going through Postpartum depression and I would play this song often. I was only 22 and I couldn't really understand why I was feeling so bad. I know that the song had nothing to do with that, but it helped me to know that someone somewhere was feeling some of the same feelings. After all these years, it's still kind of hard for me to hear the song from beginning to end.
I remember hunting down the Pet Your Friends album at CD stores down here in Brazil because I was crazy for Counting Blue Cars and Charlie Brow's Parents, two songs that played on a local rock'n'roll radio from Rio... little did I know that the album was chock full of awesome tunes such as Haze, and Pet Your Friends remains one of my all-time favorite albums. Thank you guys for providing me with endless hours of musical joy.
Yesterday (August 10th, 23) was the first time I listened this song and I felt amazing, that intro is everything. I feel so happy when I discover "new" old music
Still play "pet your friends" CD in my car, introduce it to those that don't know so they can continue with it, and still have the T-shirt w. dayglo on back though it is weathered. Need to request it on the radio more, never knew why I didn't hear more on the radio. Back then was restoring my Chevelle, living in Chico, Ca.
I underestimated how fantastic this album is I bought it on CD a couple days ago because there was a deer on the album cover (crazy reason I know but it's true) and now I can't stop listening to it
3 songs, I agree. There a huge part of my life's sound track. Even into 2009 when I paid more attention to the sound/lyrics. San Diego life. 2015 and still You tubing them Into memory lane.
I like a lot of music of today, but it baffles me how much better this song is than almost anything that comes out today! I think this is the first time I've heard this song and I'm so glad to have found it. Yay!
Back for another watch to get me outta this Haze!! 😊 Such a great jam. In fact my favorite from this album. Still listening after all these years. ❤️💯👍👏
OMG JR Richards!! I saw Dishwalla live in Tempe AZ on 7-15-1996, you guys were awesome! Really one of the best shows I'd seen that year!! And I still love listening!
Untie, the hands that bind your mind And be nice, she puts a gun against her ear Inside, against a gin and tonic sky She's a star, she finds a place to lose her pain Caged as she waits inside Hates and she wants to die And she wants, and she wants to live Deny, the problem never catches light Rewind, she pours herself some self respect, eh Caged as she waits inside Hates and she wants to die And she wants, and she wants to live She wants, she wants to live She wants She wants, she wants to live Away from this haze Away back from this haze Still she's caged as she waits inside Hates and she wants to die Get me back from this haze Get me back from this haze Get me back from this haze Oooh, oooh oooh Oooh, oooh oooh Oooh, oooh oooh Oooh, oooh oooh
24 years ago today. I can still remember listening to this in my ford thunderbird as high as the volume would go and tuning out the stop and go traffic. I still do that with this whole CD sometimes. But I was 17 in 1995, with age comes nice cars with better speakers :)
Dishwalla His voice is a mix of Eddie Vedder+Scoot Weiland+Scoot Stapp (Creed) everyone who grew in the 90's Must know the Song Charlie Brown's Parents but when we got this album we found out the we have a Gem in our hands ! im for me this is my Favorite song of the album at 3:17 'til the end its awesome but in the album goes : Get me back from this Hazzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeessssssss uoohhhh uoohhhhhh!
Uma melodia extremamente viciante, que te conquista do início ao fim, e ainda reconforta sua alma, por todos os tipos de coisas que tenha vivido. É de arrepiar! ✌😎
I recall seeing Dishwalla with Maids of Gravity in Chicago at The Metro in Chicago in 1995. I picked up their demo that night and played "Haze" over and over. Maids of Gravity played a great show, too. I originally went there to see a co-worker's band (Mary's Daydream) and was blown away with the other two bands I had not heard of before. I wish that show was available on video!
These were some beautiful looking guys. You can tell the music was very much a gift for them because they're so comfortable in their bodies as they sing and play.
eres el mejor para siempre haze no hay ningun cantante rapiro como tu segui asi esta muy bueno cantante y quieremos mas cancion buenas te quiero flamenco
Dishwalla back on the road this Dec in California with more dates to be added in other states soon. If you are in the San Fran Area, San Diego area, LA area, Santa Barbara or SLO area check them out. Its great to see them back out and about. GO to Dishwalla website for dates and times
Do yourselves a favor & find Dishwalla 's Opaline. It's a masterpiece that truly stands the test of time & surprised no one mentioned there HUGE ass hit & one of the biggest radio hits the year it came out Counting Blue Cars
sick of people saying that good music doesnt exist any more.. the punk/rock/metal scene is bigger than it has ever been. its just hidden behind a blanket of pop
Anyone else remember being hung and twisted after a month long vodka binge and hearing this in your head while your brain turned into a raisin and you wished you were dead or alive, anything but what you are? Guess you had to be there. Good song.
I've always wondered if it was just me but I think that if you like Dishwalla, you'll also like Collective Soul, Sponge, Stone Roses and of course, Toadies!
Looks like I've been here before. Who would've thought that I'd be living this song almost a year later? Being bipolar SUCKS sometimes & alcohol is one of the only things that helps me deal w/it.
I will always love this band! They're amazing and I wish we heard more from them then some of this fake crap that gets played. Music lke this is passion, beauty and has heart. Without that .....pffffft
AWESOME song and he definitely has the most amazing voice. What would I give for JR Richards to hang out in my kitchen singing songs? Probably my children......lol just kidding. Well, I might have to really think about it :/ lmao!!
OK? I'm aware of that & I was just joking about being willing to give up my children for him to sit around singing....I did not imply anything of the sort otherwise. But thanks :)
Anyone else think of Kurdt Cobain @ the 13 second mark? This song could've been written about him. (Torn between living & dying.) I know the feeling all too well.
@SterlingBoyd And Better Than Ezra, Candlebox, Caroline's Spine, Gin Blossoms, Blessid Union of Souls, Black Lab, Oleander, Splender, Tonic, Live...Great minds(and tastes in music) think alike!

The wah of the guitar is hypnotic to me. I've always loved it.

Alpha saw them both the same year at the roxy in Atlanta. Great show
I saw them the same year in Texas! I was 12

She's a star, she finds a place to lose her pain
Caged as she waits inside
Hates and she wants to die
And she wants, and she wants to live
Deny, the problem never catches light
Rewind, she pours herself some self respect, eh
Caged as she waits inside
Hates and she wants to die
And she wants, and she wants to live
She wants, she wants to live
She wants
She wants, she wants to live
Away from this haze
Away back from this haze
Still she's caged as she waits inside
Hates and she wants to die
Get me back from this haze

They don't make 'em like that anymore. I've been a fan since '95.

i think they made it big, at least here in my country almost everyone knew the band or at least knew their songs...
Wow, I didn't know they made a video for Haze.
@SterlingBoyd
love them all!
A deeply dark and haunted song...twist of giving up and too strong to do so. Time to step away and reset.
i swear to god if i have to hear "its like love" one more time im gonna punch a hole in my wall.

Anyone else think of Kurdt Cobain @ the 13 second mark? This song could've been written about him. (Torn between living & dying.) I know the feeling all too well.
It does fit..... never thought about that as I wrote it about alcoholism. Thanks Adrienne :)
