Bush does NOT get enough recognition. This entire album AND Razorblade Suitcase are masterpieces. Literally the English version of Nirvana. Whenever I ask best bands of the 90s nobody ever mentions Bush but comedown and glycerine stayed on the radio.
English version of Nirvana - that's a good summary. I think that the whole era was just so packed with solid grunge (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, STP, Soundgarden etc.) that a lot of good bands got lost in the proverbial shuffle.
It seemed Sixteen Stone was a hit or even a blast. Swallowed debuted well, Greedy Fly did moderately so and I'm not sure the other three songs off of Razorblade Suitcase really made their marks. Then Bush's next 2 Cd's each had about 1 hit as best recalled, that got some recognition. Eah, huh what happened.... At least Razorback Suitcase seemed like another good replacement for Sixteen Stone.
Just saw him live for the third time Saturday night. Still kicking ass My wife and I bought the vip tickets to meet him and the band. All are awesome guys. Keep on rocking Gavin!!!
Saw them at Reunion Arena for Edge X-Mas 1999. Blink 182, Powerman 5000, Bowling For Soup, and they were the headliner. They closed with this song and before he starts in with “I touch your mouth..” he threw his guitar into the stands and jumped into the crowd. The band kept repeating the guitar riff until he got back on stage, ran to the back to grab a new guitar, ran back out and jumped into the air and as soon as he landed, “I TOUCH YOUR MOUTH….!!!!” Blew the fucking roof off. I’m getting goose bumps thinking about it. Still the best band I’ve ever seen live.
Gavin always gives 10000000% he ran thru the entire audience, singing, not missing a beat or being out of breath (like vince neil who gets winded after 3 words lol)

most underrated Bush song, this one never gets old and to this day makes we want to slam the volume up to 11 and thrash around like an angry teenager whenever I hear it, fuck yes ❤
My Momma is 66 and still in love with Gavin. She turned her grandson into a fan. He is now 12 and plays the drums. Guitar Hero got him started...playing Bush for his Grandma.
Then with music in general, it was one decent song and the rest filler. The ability to purchase just the song you wanted was a nice change if you wanted to make sure the artist was compensated for the download. Until then I would download illegal because I didn't think it was worth spending 15-20$ on one song.
Unbelievable this was their first album. Gavin is one of those guys who just found his calling and let loose. Thank you God for creating a creator like Gavin.
Whenever I hear this song it literally brings me directly back to summer 1994, and the campground in the White Mountains in NH where my family basically spent every summer of my childhood at, and I can literally smell the campfires burning and the old musty log cabin smell of the game room/main lodge, and i can hear this song on the old jukebox the place used to have. It's like im there everytime. Some of the best times of my life.
Bush was awesome in the 90's and they're still awesome here in 2023. I wish music like this would make a come back. I feel like the 90's was the last great decade for music.
They do man, you just aren’t looking hard enough to find it. You do know that music exists outside of radio, right??! Try exploring those artists and you’ll see there’s still lots of authentic, amazing music out there
I’ve heard this song a million times but today while driving around it came on the radio and I have a new found appreciation for this song and band. Weird how music works
Just got back from seeing Bush in a small venue in Reno and this was the best show I have seen. They sound great with great energy. When Gavin did this song, he jumped off of stage and went throughout the whole crowd and took pictures. Very nice, humble guy. Makes me like Bush even more.
I love his voice! I never knew what they sang until Gavin's Love Remains the Same. I don't remember their songs from the 90s, but happily, I have discovered Bush.
16 stones, one of the most amazing albums I ever heard.
3 года назад
16 Stone - not stones. Stone is an old unit of weight equaling about 102 kg / 225 lbs. According to Gavin: _"Once upon a time there was a lonely man...my friend, who called a phone number advertising a '21 year Scandinavian beauty, new in town.' When she arrived, she was forty years old and sixteen stone...but he managed to get through it."_

+Mike Hegarty I don't know about it being the last time. Every other decade, it seems, a new movement comes around that restores the backbone of Rock into the music and calls it something brand new.
I still have the trauma records versions of their 1st and 2nd albums. The others weren't as good, so they kinda faded out. Letting Gwen sing was a huge mistake.

Right and similarly, canned dog food is the dog version of a steak dinner from an upscale restaurant and similarly, one is far superior to the other.
I hear this song on the Radio still too :)
How did they not. Howard Stern was huge in the 90s and constantly raved about them being his favorite band.

He's really nice. I met him on the street one time. Dude just chilled with me and talked.
I went to a concert in the 90s in MI. one of the best I've been to. Still love the music in 2024.
First concert I ever went to was to see Bush, I was 13 years old. I’ll never forget it as long as I live. This music will never die with me.

No music beats the music that comes from the 90s. Lord thank you for letting me experience that era
I love these lyrics, all of the lyrics to all their songs are so ensightful and mean something. Enlightening and even dark and decadent.
Good music can alway be self interpreted by anyone who actually listens

This video takes me to my army days in Ft Stewart, Ga back in 95-96.
