Hello dear Jacqueline, Dutch fling woman, Thanks for sharing everything and even your emotional part with that bloody engine… What a lovely place. Fair winds
90% of engine failures at sea are caused by dirty fuel (primarily caused by the growth of algae in the tank). The engine 'hunting' (struggling) like that is a big clue. Similarly, another big clue is that it occurs once the fuel in the tank gets stirred up (such as by bigger waves), as the algea otherwise sits on the bottom. The problem is much worse in the heat and humidity of the tropics, as the algea grows faster. An additive (added when the fuel is fresh) helps a lot, as does keeping the tank topped up. Smaller boats, with smaller fuel filters, suffer from this more than larger boats, as their fuel filters are less prone to clog. The best remedy is prevention, by cleaning the tank before a passage (or when you change your fuel filter).
Its lovely island 🏝 🌴 enjoy, so beautiful island .My dream to sail ⛵️ to Fatu Hiva from Patagonia, Chile 🇨🇱. I m happy for you sailing , well done all the episodes filming .
I lived in Thailand for 6 years and they have a saying. If you have a problem let the sun rise and let the sunset. The next morning and day. The problem will not be a big deal.
How old are you, and what made you take on this challenge at this age, and why do it alone, or is it because your husband needs to support you financially for the trip? I admire your mindset.
Hi Garry. Thanks for asking. I am 55 years old. My husband and son don't like sailing as much as I do. I worked very hard myself to make this dream come true.
Just amazing Jacqueline. Beta engines are good ones, just keep checking the basics (pet it) and everything will be fine. Remember, is about enjoy the journey offside of your comfort zone. you get this!!😚
Over the Atlantic, Pacific, the Med; the Black Sea …… all in a military sling seat …. I applaud your courage and to be the best you can be …. Given today’s Seas ….. we will be called up soon ….. did you ever sail into Sinop?
My dear Mrs. SKIPPER. Why cry? Why do you allow emotion to win over you? In the lives of men we have been mistakenly taught that problems come and are established and that is FALSE, there are no problems, rather we create them, BUT WHAT DOES EXIST ARE THE DIFFICULTIES, which is not the same. We humans never see things as they ARE, but as we are, therefore there is a simple solution for LIFE and difficulties, IT IS THE ATTITUDE how we face EVERYTHING. THEREFORE, DON'T LET THE CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE YOU, BE THE ONE TO CHANGE THE CIRCUMSTANCES IF YOU HAVE TO LEARN MECHANICS, LEARN, IF YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO FLY, LEARN. SEE IT AS GOD SEES IT, NOT AS OTHERS CAN OR WANT TO SEE IT. EXCELLENT WORK. CUBAN PROVERB: FACING DIFFICULTY, TIGHTEN YOUR ASS AND PULL FORWARD. EVERYTHING GREAT. 💪
Thanks! Well I guess that sailing for a long time makes me more vulnerable. And I don’t want to fight that. It just is. And when I accept what is and keep on breathing it is gone in no-time. When fighting, the energy will be suppressed.

All the problems I have had on my engine sofar had nothing to do with dirty fuel. Shortly new video's come up about two more engine failures.

Patagonia must be beautiful to see. Thanks!
Glad your engine is running again.
Yes me too! It was a bit scary the next time. But it all worked out fine.

Dank je! Ja dat was niet fijn. Daarna kwam dit probleem gelukkig niet meer terug.
Schitterende beelden...dat dat bestaat...👍

Thanks you probably know now but it is best to do maintenance at a dock for the reasons discovered. Again thanks for sharing a well made video.
Yes that was actually the plan. Thanks!
Lo del motor tiene toda la pinta de ser un problema de suministro de combustible. Yo revisaría todos los conductos y filtros de gas oil.
¡Gracias!
Honest video, sailing with main and genoa is how they did it in the old days. You can do it too.
Thanks for your support!
So happy you get your boat engine fixed! Sometimes things went wrong is normal!Wish you all good ! Have a safe and happy sailing ⛵️ !😊🙏🏻
What is the white box behind you at 11:13?
Hi Mike. That is a solar light
@@sailingloveworkx oh ok, thanks.
What happen to the engine .. bless you
I still haven’t found out what it was. But it definitely was related to servicing the engine.
By the way, I saw that you have 2 solars panels, how many watts ? Is that enough for charging your battery when your are at anchorage ?
I have two 115 watt solar panels. And that is enough. Since I don’t have a fridge.
What next Captain 😅
I hope it will all be ok. Like John Lennon says: it will all be ok in the end. If it’s not ok, it’s not the end.
You do have the outboard-engine? And gasoline?
Yes I do.
👍
Thanks!
