    I wholeheartedly admire you for your determination and courage to put yourself in the hands of mother nature. Things can change very quickly in the middle of the ocean and no one there but yourself and God to rely on.

Ik wens je het allerbeste voor de volgende etappe, met zo'n 1550 Nm, geen problemen die je in serieuze problemen kunnen brengen en dan natuurlijk altijd de beste wind, vriendelijke golven en een veilige aankomst in Tonga. • @sailingloveworkx
      @sailingloveworkx  Месяц назад

      Hi there! Thanks for your nice questions. The winter clothes are in vacuum bags. In summertime, which was for the past 14 months, it all dries nicely in the boat. I have an AIS alarm on my plotter. And I can see ships around me in a range of 300 NM through PredictWind. What you see is true, I hardly see any other ships when sailing. Going to the coast is the most dangerous, because ships without AIS sail or fish there.

    Great to see you out enjoying yourself singlehanding a modest boat on a long voyage! Looks like a nicely maintained boat. Since you already have outboard tracks along each rail, have you experimented with using twin sheets on your jib and genoa and sheeting to an outboard lead when reaching and running? You may find it gives more speed and an easier motion in many conditions. Also, curious if you've marked your main halyard for each reef point to make reefing a little easier. Fair Winds!

    • @sailingloveworkx
      @sailingloveworkx  2 месяца назад

      Hi. Thanks for sharing your ideas! I indeed have double sheets on my genoa's when I am reaching, that works great since I don't use a boom. Marking the main halyard I have not done yet.

    I just started watching so I have a question about how you sail while you sleep? Keep the boat on course and not worry about hitting something below water or on top of the water?

    Excellent- did you modify your boat, for example to make it watertight? Fair winds!

    • @sailingloveworkx
      @sailingloveworkx  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Frank. The boat was build in 1977 so there was no need to modify the boat to make it watertight. I did refit a whole lot on the boat though. On my website I have listed all the projects: sailing.loveworkx.com/grinde/boatprojects-solo-sailing-around-the-world/

    just a suggestion: when you are on deck fiddling with this and that and the camera is rolling, it would be beneficial if you would talk to us and telling us what you are doing - otherwise, on this end, all we're doing is watching you walk/climb around
