Dang that saw is awesome!!! Great use of the word Cattywampus!
I enjoy your bus builds; but what I admire is how you demonstrate the importance and value in relationships you've built with family, friends, and the greater skoolie community. Thanks for sharing the knowledge and skills you've acquired, for being a positive example of hard work, and presenting your videos in an entertaining way. I look forward to seeing your continued success.
Dang, you impress me all the time. Is there nothing you can’t do! You are a very talented young man. Love what you did with the door ❤️
Thanks Sam. I have had the opportunity to learn from a lot of people around me. That's the best part about the bus community always a lot to learn!
He is called a Jack of all trades. My dad was that way.
@@laruedouglas7972 he has taught me sooo much and I haven’t even met Mike. I’m getting ready to convert a van for van life and I’ve learned a lot from Mike. He has the best RUclips channel
I’m with Dale on the door. RV door all the way.
Gotta love Dale. He’s funny 😆
Dale is the best.
I wish those roof deck mounts were around when I did my bus
I know. I am so happy Luke has been able to move over to making these in his shop for everyone!
@@navigationnowhere how can I order some?
@@christystarr5154 There is a link to the website in the description and the discount code listed for you. Thanks
@@navigationnowhere Thank you! Missed that somehow...just ordered.
Dale, You are a very Lucky Person to have the Good friends that you have... Cant wait to see it all finished up in New York.. Maybe one day we could all meet for lunch or something, with you driving up to New York you Dale you would be passing us if your taking I-95 north to I- 695.. Go Dale !! And you are all doing a very nice Job..
hope your flight will be a safe one
Go gray first don't like it then black. Easier to cover light to dark. Covering black at least 3 or more coats.
That saw was great new blade and belt. Right tool for the job
It is such a great tool to have around when your trying to cut those angles. A grinder just doesn't do it so clean.
Dale should be a character actor. His voice is especially golden 🤔🤗
Not only do I learn so much watching these videos, I very much enjoy the witty banter and plain warmth between Mike and his friends and family! 🚐🙌🏻🤔
Its definitely coming along! I'm still waiting to see the rest of Ivan. 😂 Also Dale's t shirts are absolute gold 😂
Dale's shirts are the best! I am back on Ivan this week. Counter tops are going in !
@@navigationnowhere every video I find myself trying to read his shirts 😂 adds a whole other layer of interest. Very excited for more Ivan. Especially the front area where they ungodly ugly plastic cup holder thing usually sits. I know you're planning something and I can't wait!
I love seeing Dale getting an upgrade but his other road castle was nice as well very sleeper esk.
His old rig was great! He told me he wanted a little bit more space so that he could bring his grandchildren on some trips with him. The Box Truck really can only fit one.
@@navigationnowhere that is beautiful, that is a great reason why to upgrade! We are blessed to have beautiful lands to explore and showing the younger generation the magic of them.
So true!
ITS REALLY ENJOYABLE TO WATCH YOU AND DALE WORK TOGETHER. YOU BOTH HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT AND BROTHERLY LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. YOU MAKE QUITE A TEAM! I MAY NEED YOUR EXPERTISE WHEN I BUILD A SMALL SKOOLIE AND A VINTAGE CAMPER TRAILER I ALREADY HAVE. THANKS FOR SHARING.
This was a great video. It had all the things I'm looking to do to my shuttle bus, and have no idea how to proceed. Can't wait to see the next one.
Dale will be back around in the next few weeks so this project will start back up.
Been fun watching Mike grow as a tiny bus home builder and with Dale's sense of humor while he helps, makes it's even better. The bus will look super when it's done.
Mike & Dale, Would you not need to seal around the roof holes you made put'n the brackets in? The 'Band-Saw was a great find. What about a Safe Guard Welded On It where the Blade is? You could get a wall socket with switch to plug into to make ya a On/Off for it. Safe Travels, Always, Tommy :-)
I am hoping to do some add ons to the band saw this summer. Adding a on off switch would be nice or a safety kill switch.
Dale is such a good supervisor😉
I don’t know about him being a full grown man though😂
Very cool how you put that door in awesome get on the road slacker lol 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦
I saw another bus painted with the under bus paint, it was textured and didn't scratch. They chose a bright orange which looked fantastic. Dale's choice of black would be very elegant.
I love you brother you are real good person
noticed no fan or AC hole cutout and didn't see a ladder..
Y'all did an awesome list buster and tons of help!
We will be adding a roof fan this summer and a mini split unit. Just have to wait till summer for install.
Oh boy I better not show my husband that band saw, he will be telling me he needs one. 😉💗
Good job. Glad it's workin'!
Take care. Peace.
That song around the 5 min mark..wicked guitar!
This has so quickly become one of my favorite channels. Being someone who grew up in carpentry and plumbing but knows little to nothing about automotive, it's a nice combination of enjoying something I'm familiar with and learning about something that I'm not.
Good ole Dale
Does Dale have concerns about the RV door that y’all put in place of the bus doors not having windows? I have a converted shuttle bus, and I’d feel unsafe not being able to see out those doors while I’m driving... I enjoy your videos and have really come to like you guys. I want Dale to be safe☺️
My concern also. I would want to be able to see while driving.
I love Dale❤ he's a hoot!
Dale I would go grey on the door first. Easyer to paint over grey then grey over black
thats a good point!
I like the color
Mike and Dale this is looking really solid! Thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks, it will be fun to get back into it when he comes north.
Gotta love how a plan comes together! Great job everyone! And a BAND SAW brought back to life was a bonus! 💪👍
Impressed!!
Dale is abandoning BoxTruck life just as I am starting to build mine out. 😄 Love my box truck tho, no regrets.
I agree the box trucks are pretty awesome. I hope to get my hands on one sometime
@@navigationnowhere Is the box truck going to a new owner?
Nice! I can’t wait until I can start on my bus! Maybe one day I will be able to come meet all of you! Love you guys
Door looks amazing. Nice job guys
Thanks! I am excited to see what it looks like once he paints it.
Looking Good!!
Cool
I love those bolts with those curve holes so putting solar panels, and a deck is so much easier! Kudos! :)
Great job guy's....
Thanks !
I'm adding one too..I have a Thomas Vista 💚
Great job ! Thanks for sharing! Love the music, too !
Thanks! The music selection was inspired by Dale
Love how you’ve grown Mike! But I don’t know who I like more....Dale or all his curls❤️ #dontcutit
GREAT Job ‼️ on this Vid EDITION Guys 🚙👍
Plug that saw into a power strip that has a switch on it. you can use that as the on off switch. just a thought!!
Very nice job with the door. Great video, Mike.
Cool video, man. I'd done a few roof racks now and have moved away from self tapping screws like what you use at 21:45 ... I've been using rivnuts and bolts/nuts instead as I've seen self-tappers 1) rip out and 2) break off ... just a thought. Cool bus man
Came over from Leave Her Wild she is building out a short bus and watching your channel.
I love the sense of community! Hope to meet all y’all when I hit the road! 🥰✌🏽❤️
I need Dale’s old doors!
Wow! You all got a lot of work done. 😳👍🏻
I came across another bus build and the dude said he needed windows on his door to drive through Maryland. Hopefully your big side window next to your door will be enough.
Sweet work 👊😎
The door and all the other stuff came out fantastic and the windows good to go
Never “cattywampas “ lol . Your amazing so skilled!!
Me and Dale show, YES! More please 😄 Those window deletes are so sweet! I just got 4 flasher deletes you can't DIY that level of quality. Bought them before seeing this video and the discount code of course haha. Great work guys!
the music is awesome btw
Thanks. Always playing around with different types.
You are such a sweet friend to help him with his bus build. Your an amazing young man
Thank you so much for sharing the skoolie.com website. I have a short bus and need to get rid of the roof escape hatch and they have a product to delete it os one to convert if for a roof fan! Solved a major issue for me and your code will save me money!
Very nice, enjoyed the video. 👍
Is there any concern about creating a blind spot by installing a windowless door?
That roof mount is slick things to remember yah !
Looks like you are making some great progress and I'm excited to see more of the slacker build! My finance and I just purchased our first bus and cant wait to get started on the build
Thats awesome! Congrats, I saw your email and will get back to you.
Hi Mike. Love your channel. I can see the experience in all that you do. When you resheet the floor ? Where your support strips go under the ply wood. Those need to be lined up with your counter /storage walls I would think. And which is your preference for in floor insulation . I'm in Canada so some supplies could have different names or manufacture. 3yrs experience , this works , that doesn't. Great videos.
Great job guys I’m excited for Dale you open my eyes so much to the bus life given me something to think about great video thank you so much for sharing you make it real but you make it fun be safe in your travels both of you see you in New York ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🌈🌈🌈🚌🚌🚌🚌
Thanks Laura! It has been a lot of fun to build and meet so many fun people over the years. Hopefully we get many more adventures down the road!
This needs a lot more subscriber..Stay Safe
Another cool video 👍
Door look 👍🏻
Thanks!
looking awesome!! can't wait to see it in person one day!!
You guys a gold...Thanks for sharing your builds!!
Looking forward to seeing when Sir Dale is upstate. Loved this video. Stay safe you guys!
Awesome job done.Enjoy watching your build videos.Keep them coming.Alan from the UK.
Great vid! How do you waterproof the rooftop deck mounts?
They will be sealed with Dicor and a silicone roof sealant in future videos. You can also installed them on top of butyl tape.
yup, good work n dales still hot lol
TIDY! 👌
Thanks!
Cool cool bus build but did yall even think about a wndw in the door so he could see how to drive and pull out from conor streets yall may want to put a wndw in the entry door many blessings and bless great healthy peaceful safe journeys travels and happy camping sending up prayers 4 yall
🚐⛺🌌🏞👍👍💪🙂👍👍
yay, more motivation to start on my shell..... lmao starting with those stupid window deletes... ive gotta get an rv door man i like that...!!!
My first thought was that beautiful door you fabricated,,,
Need a window or even a porthole!!!! Tc from Nevada
Mike is it I hav3 to say that u do very good work . I am a viewer from cambridge ontario
Alright, once again Mike love the energy.😃 Dale I'm with you on the door. Stay safe can't wait to see the build. Mike will you be opening your on business soon for conversions?
That door makes a large blind spot exactly to the right of the driver.
You guys mounted those deck mounts drilling the roof without water proofing the screws???
They will be in a future video. Dicor and a silicone roof paint.
Beautiful work.. Also "I see a red door and I want to paint it Black"...
Hi Mike, I am so impressed with you and your work ethic. I wish I had your skill and talent 😊 I want to know if you are familiar with propane tankless water heaters and which one you would recommend. I am converting a shuttle bus. Solar goes in this week, YAY!
Mike if i was 30 years younger i would Marry you, you are so talented and i love watching you work
You seem like a good dude Mike. Any plans for a meet up in NY this summer?
I am planning on having a meet up once the weather turns from mud season!!
Mike if you come thru Ithaca N.Y. Stop in at meadow court inn. I would like to meet you and see your bus
Have a shuttle bus, Replaced with a glass door (Tempered) So its hard for me to understand putting a solid door on ? As with the bus the sight at door is SO important to see blindside and etc...Trust me without glass doors whichever they maybe. Your setting yourself up for danger...
Yes, good luck being able to see when turning left at an angle.
How in the world you have connection like that? I'd love that!!
Nice! Just currious did you use a sealant under the roof brackets?
They will be sealed in a future video with Dicor and a roof silicone sealant.
i was curious if you could use an electric stove vs propane or gas or is that the most efficient way to go
Where in NY? I would love to see and watch what you do
Dale is really good at supervising and smoking cigarettes.....lol. Mike you are an incredibly good friend and so talented. I wish I had someone like that in my life. I'm a 71 year old female who would love to do a skoolie. Can't wait to see yours done.
I say black and gray maybe keep up the rub rails
Someone got excited when they learned how to play "In my time of Dying" on guitar.
Love all your videos. Who were the music artists in this video? They sound great.
hey! what type of sealant were you using for the windows/window deletes?
Hi Dale my name is Dennis I'm 55 I bought my first school bus today and I'm headed out on the road as soon as I get a converted keeping look out for me I'm I am a vermonter a lot of people said I was too old then I saw your videos and I said hell that old man can do it why can't I
Can you let us know where you got your swivel mount please
I just want to get started on mine already 😔
Dale needs to change the name of his channel to the slacker channel or Slacker Bus 🚌
I have just found my most favorite video series, not only because you make stellar build videos/tutorials, but also because we are building out this exact pug nose Thomas bus as well! Not sure what year this one is but we have a 1996. So helpful seeing the build process and how someone else is navigating it. We would love to pick your brain some day! Can't wait to see the rest of the build. Ours is on Instagram @leapintowild.
Thats awesome you have the same bus. Dale will be back around this summer so we will be getting back to building out his bus.
Why didn’t you put a gasket or calk under the roof rack brackets?
