Meet Caleb, Hanah & 3 year old Phoenix! This traveling family lives fulltime in their 2007 Duramax Diesel 6.6 LMN Chevy Short Bus. These DIY'ers converted their bus to fit all their needs! The kitchen design is sleek with tons of storage, and the aesthetic design using dark colors really give off a cool vibe. The full bathroom with two nozzles is perfect for relaxing or rinsing off. As a web developer Caleb must have ample solar and he does with 600 watts of solar and a HUGE 900 amp battery pack. His desk chair design for his work space is a must see, such a great idea! This is a beautiful conversion! You obviously love the color black. For my personal taste, it’s much too dark inside. But my shuttle bus conversion is pearl/metallic white inside🤗. That’s the beauty of doing your own conversion-you make it to your taste! Love your tile work. Thanks for sharing!

The layout that you have is the closest thing I’ve seen to what i imagined in my head for what I want. I always thought that the main sitting area should be the most comfortable lounge as possible that turned into a bed. Best use of space in my opinion. You want it to feel almost like your sitting/bed area is like a lounge of pillows and comforters like something out of scene in Middle East with everyone smoking hookah together. That’s what your Lounge area feels like. Great job!!!
I couldn't stand Bremerton WA the weather is so depressing so we moved to Florida best decision I've ever made. Love the home man.
This bus looks very cute from the outside. Love all the windows, short length, and marigold yellow color! I want to paint my car that color too. Inside is functional and very NY chic. I don't personally like the black, its too dark and grim. Maybe a deep teal color for cabinets would be better? Your son is a sweetie! What a wonderful adventure you are all having. Its a great bonding time for kids, and being with parents all day is emotionally very good for them, also for the doggies. Not easy being in a small space like this, but the travel will give your son a high IQ. Make sure he learns multiple languages.
You picked a good vehicle with that Duramax engine. The short size will make it easy to resell if you have to. Thanks for the tour!
Chris - a wide angle lens would have been nice at times esp with the dark interior colors making it hard to see, however, you captured the ambiance very well with the right light bouncing off the black tiles and surfaces. I like how you are evolving as a photographer. Those slide at end of shots of the mirror, cactus, sunsets, little boy, dog sticking his head out of the window, were very evocative and beautiful. Really good work! Gives a feeling of locale and mood subtly. Well done.

They come in vinyl. You don't have to add a ton of weight.

I just bought black couches with quite a bit of black decor and people think it's not a good look. Seeing yours all put together makes me glad I went for black as a main color to our biggest space.
Super inspired by this build. I recently seperated with my baby mama and I am planning on getting back on the road full time, with my kids part time. And a full time job. so a much different senario then I was when I started traveling as a hippy dirty kid musician but now I have goals and a purpose not just a jester, hopefully I can find that freespirit again tho when I'm traveling :)

I like your design with less window feeling more protection, sitting in chair can release back discomfort better than bed especially during the day.

I know this was costly, but it's your home. Love the kitchen and bathroom pure luxury. Lol. Smart and creative seating for desk and bedroom. Only thing I change is pull out drawers, to make it easier. You should be designing for others or help create for seniors so many want to try this, but need help. Of course we don't have your budget. A very nice set up. Wish we have such schoolbuses here in Italy. Unfortunately (or fortunately, it depends...) we have either LWB dual wheelie vans or short buses - like commuters, to be intended...

Very cool bus and features, tho I think I'd pick more white/wood if I had one of these. Mainly cause black is too dark.
I didn't like the spray paint at all. I always use rollers and you can't see any marks. Spray paint us never even.

@@piplup10203854 I think doing a build with an ambulance is way better than a van as the walls to the ceiling are straight and do not have the curve to try to build around

Also shuttle buses if you’re more into natural light, but also horrible for hot and cold.
