VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Danny, a book lover who has been living in his bus for over 6 months designed his space beautifully. He was very thoughtful with what he knew he needed and wanted while living in a small space. The amount of storage is incredibly impressive. He also has a kitchen with so much counter space, an oven to bake bread, a deep sink, plenty of shelving and a dining room table. Danny lived in NY for 33 years and desired a slower pace of life and more time outdoors, so he made the leap and truly created a HOME on wheels.

What do you think of this awesome school bus conversion? One of the best I have seen...it honestly made me question my build layout!
Tiny Home Tours
Omg, it’s just perfect. Nothing else is needed. Just amazing.
Very Beautiful home. I love the kitchen. I bake so the oven is perfect. If I had a bus I'd have to have an oven and pantry.
I’d add a portable hot tub.😀. Also he didn’t say anything about his fresh and gray water. What are their capacities?
Perfect use of space on the bus!
Love the kitchen and all your books. I grew up in NYC and had the same desire for a slower pace of life. Raised our children in the Hudson Valley which was perfect. Enjoy your home and life helping your son build his dream!
I like it. For me I’d want a bigger bedroom area. So I’d cut down the sitting area down and reduce the pantry down as there plenty of storage in the kitchen, take the return off it and put the bathroom away from the bedroom in the style and narrow layout. I’d like the whole back area to be my bedroom.
I really don't try to come off as mean to other tours of Bus or rv conversions by saying this, but I love how straight to the point he is with explaining his decisions and not talking half an hour about an immensely important doorknob he found on etsy 😅👍
good yoga teachers learn to explain things quick and to the point. there's not much time before the next pose.
Hallelujah
well said !
I love how he created distinct living areas. A large kitchen! I’m retiring in 3 yrs after 30 years of teaching and want my retirement home to be a school bus.
That's awesome! :) Good-luck. I have similar plans, but I don't plan to wait for retirement. I still thought it would be good for that purpose though because then you don't have to worry about leaving everything behind if you want to travel. Remember to find out about insurance before you invest your money though. It seems like they are getting better about offering insurance, but it's an issue many tiny home owners don't speak about enough. Who wants to spend all that money on something they love without any kind of protection, right?
Perfect 😁👍
Yes. About to get a bus n day or two ! Can't wait !!!! So now I'm rethinking everything!
Have bed room separate from living rm. n big kitchen..!
@@hotcrazycatladyme168 yep. Buying my bus n day or 2.. but should be travellers insure just like r.v.
Good Sam is good!
Im 24. Just getting into my career and also just became single after a 4 year relationship. Ive never felt like keeping stuff just because. And i think after saving a few years i might do this myself. Ive always liked the idea of a tiny house. Besides after the break up and moving back to my parents temporarily almost all my belongings besides mattress and a dresser fit in my jeep. So i think im ready lol.
This is the best conversion I have watched. I am so impressed with the separation of the kitchen and living space. If I were to ever do one of these. I would not want a sofa facing the kitchen. Five stars too this guy.
yes so so sick of hearing about an open concept". what a breath of fresh air!!!!! EXCELLENT
One of my hobbies is watching bus conversion videos. Danny’s bus home is the best I’ve seen period! Love the L shapes, bathroom, kitchen, lighting, plan & practicality. What’s more he speaks so well - totally enjoyable guided tour. Well done on everything, great job Danny 10/10! 👍🏽👏🏽😃 Blessings

I agree.
After living in New York the bus must be spacious.
hunnerdayEDT -Hard to describe.. everything is different.. everything 😊
Literally 175 sq ft in New york is over $1500 a month!
He did say that the kitchen in the bus offers the most counter space that he has ever had. I just can't imagine.
@@brennenhrebeniuk9661 We call 175 sq ft a closet where I'm from.

Him doing his own narration was fabulous!!! He's got a nice voice and it was a pleasure listening to him. 🤓😁😊
Lady Alex 😊 thank you!
True! His voice is adequately watered and the timbre is soothing.
I don’t like hearing my narrator SWALLOW, it is a pet peeve that makes me crazy, and this man has his microphone placed correctly so I don’t hear that.
Creep
@@kevinmcmahon3827 WHO???
Yes! So many have annoying voices and they all end every sentence with a question...why?!?!
This man is so incredibly charming, I love how much storage is dedicated to books. It would be one of my biggest hurdles moving to smaller living. Beautiful home!
This one is just literally a house on wheels. This is the one I would choose to live in.
Just kept getting better, when he unfolded the sofa I was disappointed and thought in all that space he didn't include a proper bed and then.... Wow. A bedroom. And bathroom. Living room and a kitchen space bigger than the one in my flat. Just wow.
This is one of the best designs i have seen in a tiny home. Stay healthy!
People say that with almost every vid.
He honestly has the best layout ive seen ... He made good use of his space. I love this layout better than any ive seen.
@@ruudbakstra1805 I know I am sick of the "stay safe" crap! All for a lie!🙃
@@ruudbakstra1805 key word you missed is DIFFERENT people say that. not everyone watches the same videos
@@jeremysanchez9188 No I just said people say that with almost every vid.... And that's the truth. And nobody is debating you that it are mostly different people. It is not clear what point you are trying to make?
Thats so cool that he would like to help his son with the farm. he could just roll on and have a heardquaters. really cool, chill guy, good luck
heardquaters . . . ?
Paul Suprono you know what he meant
There's people wanting to do green communities. Look up Rebecca Gretz on fb. Small operation in southern Colorado.
I think the sign of good interior planning is that the inside of a structure not only looks like it has more room, but DOES have more room than it could possibly have if you look at the structure from the outside. I've seen a few homes like this.
Oh wow! If I hadn't seen the outside, I would have never thought that this was a bus. Great job! I love it!! 💕💕💕
Seriously Danny...i have seen nearly every bus conversion on yt. in fact...i sometimes hesitate to watch a 'new vid' simply because they're not really 'new' very often. Yours on their other hand has changed my mind. What a conversion!! Seriously. Hope ur plans work out with ur son. I would like to see that journey. ✌
Love your screen name🤗

This is, hands down, the best bus/van/tiny home build-out I've ever seen.
The floor plan and aesthetics are perfect. I am amazed at how much it resembles an actual sticks & bricks home, and by how spacious it all seems. The garage area is an excellent addition, and I'm surprised that he had enough room left over for it. The roof deck is the crowning touch.
Bravo!
I have found my tiny home. The details are amazing. You thought out every detail. That bus goes on forever!
He gives off such a nice vibe! Love how his bus just flows... did a good job turning a bus into a home.
What a nice man, an air of decency not found everywhere. The bus is brilliant and I would love to have one for myself. Life is changing. Life is beautiful.
I think all of us who watch these videos dream of doing it. Learn from his story, make a plan& when most things point in the same direction make your getaway 🚌💨
@@brownielove4389 and @Pnanasnoic yes - start taking action... I bought my bus in October and am loving the experience of working on it so much that I'm selling my home and going all in!
Congrats Shannon, I'd love to see the finished conversion. Safe & fun travels on the road.
Shannon Elhart : counselor Congrats on starting to live your dream. So many of us get hung up on the things that interfere with our dreams. Hope you’ll post a video when you’ve finished the conversion.
I love it! Cheers to a fellow long time yogi! You did it! I'm ready to go "Tiny" myself. I've been preparing for years in various ways. I'm just starting my research and journey towards building a tiny home, possibly a Schoolie on the Big Island of Hawaii. Any tips are appreciated! ❤️
Nicely designed.
One of the side buckets he didn’t open, said it was holding wood. This guy has a few ounces and “Backwood” wraps. My guy
I was touched by how much he prioritized working to help his son.
I think that's the nicest garage I've seen on a bus. Well done Sir. 👌
Really and still has alot of room in each area
I concur. I like the vertical storage.
FOR REAL !!
Fantastic design. Actually I think it’s kinda perfect. Just right amount of everything.
I agree💯❣
I love that kitchen for my small townhouse galley kitchen. Those drawers are fabulous and very well planned.
I have watched a ton of tiny homes and homes on wheels and by far you have the best functional and best design i have seen. Love the pantry and kitchen built. Very cozy.
Bravo!!!
WOW, what an absolute gem....... simply stunning , the Gentleman has a really nice gentle aura and seems very kind and intelligent, well he certainly would have to, to build this beautiful home. Congratulations and safe and happy travels.. Cheers from Australia.
We have seen hundreds of buses and I think Lily and I both agree that this one is our all time favorite outside of raised roof buses. It is incredible in every little detail. Not to mention he is a super cool guy. Thanks for getting it in such detail!
Absolutely gorgeous. I love the kitchen space and the separation of areas. Building the bathroom at the side of the bed gave a much bigger shower area. Made the bedroom a little "cave-like" but it has a window so should be cozy without being claustrophobic. Overall just a brilliant design. Thanks for this one, Chris. (and you don't need to rethink your layout. I love your bus)
This man is a bookworm. If I am to venture this kind of lifestyle, I'd be like him bringing all my books so I don't feel bored and lonely. ❤️
I am a bookworm too! Get yourself a digital reader! I had to mentally work through that because I like to write in my books.
I would definitely live in this, very creative and organized with multipurpose furniture and spaces. Plus the natural color mixed with modern colors and textures, yet tiny but spacious for addition. Wow this is nice.
Beautiful design.
Seriously. I have watched every bus/van conversion video. This is the most beautiful, well planned design that I have seen yet! Hope you are able to stay distanced from the virus at this time of craziness. Namaste!

I've seen many conversions but this one is pretty much at the top. I'd love to do the same one day, and I wouldn't change much design wise. Congratulations!
Beautifully designed and built. Lovely to look at - must be lovely to live in!
I really like the layout of this bus. I would love to see this layout on a bus with a raised roof. I think it would be awesome.

What a charming man and a genius use of space in an inviting home. Kudos sir. I think you have many adventures years ahead
Beautiful work and beautiful that he's planning on a venture with his son. Hope it all comes to fruition for him and his kid.
Absolutely brilliant design, if I was going to have a bus home this would be a definite one to copy
It's just so homely and welcoming, wouldn't be home with out the log burner
*pauses video to shout out the Bob Marley poster* 🥰😍😍

The bathroom is stunning. I've never seen such a beautifully designed skoolie bathroom! Love how separated the bedroom is without feeling like it compromises space. Amazing job!
Now this is a unique build!!!
Love the L shaped kitchen & how the bed/ bath area really feels like an apt...
NYC cozy. Glad you got out Danny , simple, masculine and beautiful build. Greetings from a former NYCer.
This is definitely one of the most well thought out designs for a school bus conversions I've ever seen...echoing what everyone else has said but I've watched 100s and 100s of homes on wheels. This gives me lots of inspiration for my design!!
I never see anyone prioritize bookshelves in their build, this is so refreshing!
literacy is a rapidly dying skill.
Many people could be like me and have 100s of books on a Kindle. :) Saves a few trees and doesn't take up space. I don't think reading is a dying skill, the format has changed.
🇬🇧 I've got at least 500 books on two kindles and at least two thousand on walls. They are insulation on outside walls.
The bus is absolutely gorgeous but what I loved the most is the dream you have with your son. How you seem connected to his past and his future. My son and I have a similar dream and I believe families should dream together. Isolated independence is over-rated.
This is the first person from NYC that I have seen that has a skoolie. I love the layout and style.
This has to be the best bus build. My favorite by far. Awesome design.
Really love the emphasis on creating separate rooms. I think that is something that is really important to maintain sanity when living in small spaces.
This is the first design I've seen where every part of the house really is separated in a clever way to maximize the comfort. Just whoa!
Well this is one of the most impressive bus homes I’ve ever seen. Brilliant job.
Wow awesome..
One of the best designs I’ve ever seen on a schoolie, if not the best! The amount of shelving along the top is top notch. I love that feature, as well as the nice sized bathroom with the round door. I cannot forget to mention the full kitchen and interior roof access to the top deck! His love for his son is also very touching...
What a fantastic bus. I could live in this. Even do my hobbies....junk journals and watercolor painting. Great ideas for others, especially the pantry and kitchen area. And what a very lovely man...so articulate and full of inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for inviting us into your wonderful home.
Beautifully done.
I hope that the sustainable farm comes to fruition with your son.
Happy Travels. Be well.
Yeah, I kinda want to follow his journey!
This absolutely great. That bathroom is sheer genius. I love it all.
When he first opened the door, I kind of felt the claustrophobia kick in, but then he walked in and I saw how big it was.
..but where is the sink?..
They weren't lying when they said most cleverly designed. Best layout I've ever seen. Hands down. Period. I also love how he involves his son in his life plans.
I LOVE the 'garage' idea. I'm a Forester and have tons of dirty gear that I would hate to have stinking up my living area. Been one of my largest hestiations to go 'tiny' but now this has opened up a whole new line of thinking for me!
Stay safe from the virus and God bless.
Cool, laid back dude with an awesome vision. As a person that always has a chainsaw in their vehicle I’m digging his self sufficiency.
Best of luck with the farm!
This is absolutely my favorite bus. Gorgeous. I love the separated rooms and spaces.
One of the best designs I have seen. Considering I have watched almost 50 tiny house videos.
The best use of space I have seen in a conversion beautifully done
Wonderful to see how he manifested his dreams into this great wee home on wheels.
I never though I would ever say this. But that looks like a lotta space in a school bus. The garage is amazing. Not sure if others noticed but there was no TV. that is peaceful life.
I've been watching these conversions for about 5 years and you are the first person to make any kind of comment about the fear of cold weather. I lived in Oregon for about 12 years I was a van dweller for three of them/ I think it is very important for someone that lives in a vehicle to have a healthy fear of getting extremely sick or freezing to death in a vehicle in winter. It should be communicated to the "life on wheels" community more loudly and more clearly. I wouldn't want laws to change, forbidding this lifestyle because people were found in their vehicles. It could happen. Great video. Happy travels!
What a Beautiful conversion.....the layout is very well thought out!! Good luck and Blessings to you on your Journey!!
This is the best bus build I've seen! So well thought out. Wonderful job!
Absolutely Brilliant! One of the best thought out and "homey" feeling builds I have ever seen. Peace.
This is the best bus conversion I have ever seen. I could live in there forever. Everything looks so good, and functional.
wonderful build great job!
Really love his home and how it compliments him so well. Very peaceful and aligns with his needs. Also, as an avid reader, I appreciate the shelves that house his books. Enjoy and may your journey be more than the destination.
Beautiful design, love the skateboard, and I couldn't help to notice the Back to Basics book. It's the best.
Nice job, I live in Az take my fifth wheel camping all over with wife and dog. There's nothing like being in quiet places. We restored a 40ft sailboat in 2001 and sailed Mexico for years. I love to work on my fifth wheel just tinkering, been doing it all of my life. Beautiful thoughtful design you have done.
Your bus is so well designed! I thought about how my late father who was an artist/architect would have loved what you did. I loved the layout and how you separated the different areas, as well as your bathroom which looks like a spa with the wooden interior and duck! Thanks for sharing. Jenny
This is my favorite bus renovation, it looks very spacious even thought there is a lot in it.
Simply gorgeous! So well planned & executed.
This is one of the best school bus conversion I've seen. He's done a wonderful job and the kitchen is awesome
Cleverest design of a bus conversion I've seen.. really well done!!
wow, what a beautiful build. I also am a bread maker, so totally understand the oven, and the books, makes me think maybe I can do one of these, but need more bookshelves!
That's what makes you think you can do it???
A delightful gentleman with a noble set of values and life style to inspire others well.
This GENTLEman was a pleasure to listen to, so relaxed and confident and well versed in his life goals, awesome that he's connecting with his son for future adventures, love his skoolie, books and skateboard...this man knows freedom...
This is a nicely designed bus. What a cool endeavor with his son. Hope it all works out! ✌️🌴🌈
Awesome bus, I bet it's a lot different than NYC?? I also live in Maine so I know about cold winters! Thanks for sharing your home I love it!!
This is a great design. I love the bathroom. Making the kitchen an L shape really creates the illusion of space in the home. Every square inch has a purpose. Awesome! 👍
I love this, the whole design is amazing, but what I really love is your dedication to your books. I am a massive book fan, my hubby is the opposite and doesn't realise why I need so many shelves! I just say to him, well one day you might pick one up to read and it will inspire you!. It hasn't happened in 10 years but I live in hope! I don't think I could live without my books. Brilliant job, i'm so envious.
I'm curious about your water system. I didn't hear reference to holding tank(s). A truly awe inspiring build. You have everything you need, and nothing you don't. Brilliant! Happy travels!
Usually they don't have holding tanks, maybe fresh water occasionally, but the toilet is composting, no black holding tank needed...the shower may just drain straight through to the ground, or into a portable holding tank. Looks like he uses jugs of water, and the Berkey filter system which means he don't need a fresh water tank. All that stuff adds weight that you don't want while you are traveling anyways. Plus in cold climates those tanks have a tenancy to freeze.
There are some buses that have huge cargo storage areas under the floor (think Greyhound Buses), and those would work if you want to have holding tanks, you can build the bus with the holding tanks in one or more of those cargo bays and run heating ducts to them to prevent freezing, which is what I'd do. I'd just leave the fresh water tank close to empty till I got to where I was going then stop and fill it and use it for showers and such and keep reusable water jugs for drinking water.
@@wildbill23c -sure he takes a shower off of jugs- . *NOT*.
Lisa I am sure he has tanks a the jugs are for extra drinking water
Lisa Gray -Hey Lisa.. there’s a 100 gal tank under the bed. Lasts quite a long time! Keeps pretty warm in the colder climates too. -Peace!
If you’re worried about weight get rid of half the books.
This is a genius design for a small space
Absolutely awesome ! Super great design .I agree with the separate living spaces .This is an important feature to me as well .Love it .Thanks for sharing this
What a beautiful bus, love the natural pallet wood!
This is gorgeous...beautiful home and very intelligent design. Bravo...just amazing to tour each space as each space makes a statement of privacy and peace. Just love it!!!
Most well thought out bus. I like the storage cube in the middle that creates the pantry for the kitchen. I also like how he. has the bathroom running down beside the bedroom. All in all, great use of space. And the bookshelf over the long couch... great use of space that often gets left open.
That bathroom is GORGEOUS as well as well designed! The whole bus is that way!
This is the best Bus Home ever!!! Love it!!
This is a first. And probably last, of a build this tight and original. How many man-hours do you think went into this build? Happy busing with you and your son! :-)
No its not. There are lots of "tight" original designs. Honestly if you've watched enough schoolie or tiny home videos they all start to look similar. Just with the owners touch.
Julie Rood -5 people. (4 were professional carpenters with considerable conversion experience) took about two and a half months.. 10 hour days! -Ugh
Your bus is absolutely dreamy- you managed to build a cozy and inviting place that feels open and not like the walls are closing in on you! Love that you love books and made a way for them to go with you on your journey! Kitchen is also amazing!
I missed my dad at the end, we live on different continents. Lucky son to have such a supportive father.
