- Brad Nott and his wife Donna built an absolutely stunning School Bus Conversion in their Vintage 1985 Crown. Their goal was to make it look like a yacht and with an extremely experienced builder (Brad), a roof raise to increase the interior ceiling height, leftover luxury materials like Sapele, and a "no budget" approach they absolutely pulled it off! Crown buses are just a gorgeous shape. Even the roof raise didnt spoil that.

Brad and Donna have been friends of mine since the 90's...He visited me recently in this bus. I knew he had been upgrading it but I hadn't seen any videos or pictures since the roof raise. When I stepped into the bus to check it out I couldn't believe my eyes! I know brad well and he has always been a technically gifted guy but the level he took this bus interior was so off the charts and unexpected that it left me kind of jaw dropped! We had limited time together and he showed me what he could but I'm thankful to Mobile Dwellings for this long format video that details features that even a walkthrough that we did didn't cover...Thanks!!

Brad & Donna, this is without a doubt the best build I have ever seen. I have lamented for years that RV manufacturers should model the interior of coaches after boats instead of an extension of houses! Also the solar system is really impressive and so glad to not see a wood burning stove as the centerpiece of a coach.

I am building my bus now and many of the decisions you made on this are things i planned on doing. I love the seat that folds out to form a table. I have been working on a similar concept! absolutely love the bus. Incredible craftsmanship.

This is, by far, the most beautiful bus conversions I can ever recall seeing. The design is stunning. Everything has been carefully thought out. I'd purchase anything Brad designed sight unseen simply based on this video.
The big converters vs the custom jobs with experienced RVers, the bedroom is always smaller and the kitchen is always bigger. That shower is my inspiration.
Yeah, why do you need a huge bedroom when all you really do is sleep in it, and then these builders give you a puny kitchen when that’s where you spend most of your time. You definitely can’t get what you really need and want out of a premade RV plus they’re cracker boxes come out of the back of a factory every 20 seconds.

There is no shortage of click-bait bus conversion vids with the word "Luxury" in the title that turn out to be dirty DIY hovels. However, once every few years, something truly special, genuinely stylish and wonderfully executed comes along where form meets function. This is the latest of those.

Outstanding ! I too am a master Carpenter as I have many homes I worked on or built / rebuilt / remodeled in The Southern Homes and Gardens, Southern Living Magazines and others. I've always wanted to build a travel home just like yours. .
Seriously one of the most beautiful interiors I've seen in a bus. Love the look, fit, and trim of it, and clearly took his time to do it right. Also, love the concept of building it to be able to maintain it with removable panels. Things break. It's just a fact of life. Building so you can fix is just smart. I love the Crown buses but I've only seen a couple with raised roofs. The raise looks good as well. I have to say that I would paint it though. The interior deserves the finished look of a well-painted exterior. Thank you for replacing the old bus windows. So many well-built, beautiful buses out there that took the time to raise the roof but left the old bus windows in. I really don't understand that. Nicely done. I'm quite jealous.

It's a work of art. The outside is vintage, the inside is state of the art. I like it. My favorites are the bathroom sink, the bathroom counter, the shower tiles, the versatile bed, the window that opens for fresh air and sound. And all the things I don't understand, solar power, electric, all the pertinent extras. It's not cluttered up.

This is, by far, the best I've seen in my years of watching RUclips bus conversions. I don't even know where to start, but that African wood would be a good start.

How someone is that good at just one of these things is crazy to me..i can't imagine knowing how to do only the carpentry....this guy did that AND the bodywork, powder coating, adding lights to an existing body, roof raise, some of the electrical.... amazing....and awesome build

@@PaiviProject A good time to start writing requirements, laying out the design. Go camping in it, using basic cots, cooler, stove. Find out what your needs are. This is key. Also visit Humble Road for pro tips on building. Greg Virgoe explains how the electricity works. Victron brand inverter, charger, solar MPPT are the best.

Sometimes when you hear the word "schoolie," you think of a basic, homespun, serviceable, but obviously DYI contraption.
This one (inside) has the hallmarks of a half-million dollar rolling palace.

I JUST LOVE THE OLD CROWN SCHOOL BUSES. I'M 65, AND MOST OF US AT THIS AGE HAD THIS BUS TO GO TO SCHOOL EACH DAY. LOVE TO BUY ONE AND MAKE MY MOTORHOME, VERY FULL CIRCLE EVENT!
