You won’t believe how much cool stuff I packed into this 25’ shuttle bus! It was built for a lady who uses a walker so I had to keep everything at waste height and allow enough space inside for her walker. I still managed to fit in a full size bed, a power recliner, and a large shower and toilet. Also the lift converts into a sitting desk! Lots of new ideas in this build....and the beautiful live edge slab counters make the space warm and cozy 😊✌🏻

I'm actually paralyzed and in a wheelchair. I've been watching van life videos for a couple years now and I get so sad because I thought it wasnt a possibility for me. Thank you so much for making a bus for someone with disabilities. I've got some hope now that I can live this lifestyle!
Awesome! I hope you get out on the road!
@Dani Jones me too! This has given me new hope and I am holding on to NEW possibilities.
I'm Tetraplegic so mine is diaphragm up. I still have use but meh strength in my arms. I've watched soooo many Vanlife videos until I finally decided that I'm going to do it.
I am starting off small. My Dodge Grand Caravan has just the right enough space and my wheelchair carrier is already mounted. Since it's a stow and go, the storage is built in, and the back storage is perfect for a lithium batteries and more storage.
If your legs are paralyzed, I wonder if you could take out the passenger seat to hold your wheelchair and come up with an outside the box way of getting from the chair to the driver's seat?
@@najlazalif1680 that is awesome! I'm so glad you've started your journey in van life! 👏🏻 and that is a great idea! Thank you!
@@danijones7984 3 weeks to go!
My son and grandsons are my little worker ants
As a person who worked with the disabled my entire life, I can assure you that there are tremendous needs in this area. Many families cannot even afford a van with a lift for their child which makes it so difficult for them to go anywhere as a family. They are extremely expensive. Thank you for what you do. Many disabled live on small incomes so tiny homes are greatly needed too!
Agreed I'm looking at this as a safety net and wondering how much it would cost
@@vanilla5245 A TON. Not to buy one, but like this are generally 100k+ the bus/shuttle itself isn't too bad, really.
Mom is just beaming with excitement. You Brad have many talents! Were driving to you now, but pulled over to view the final product. Were back on the way to you and she is just Giddy! If this Honda could fly....
So awesome!!! How exciting!
Nice job, Brad!
Thank you for the feedback😊
I’m glad she likes it ❤️✌🏻
Hi, i am nobody in particular but am so glad your mom had this done as i am disabled and have been wondering if this could even be done for someone who needed more room to move around and this proves it can be done! might i ask for a ball park figure on how much it all cost? no need to be exact or if you got a good deal i'd just like a figure to aim for that is all or to see if i need to just keep dreaming! :) i hope your mom enjoys the heck out of it she's living the dream!
This is your van, is your mom going to document her journey because I would love to do this but I'm disabled and afraid ?
I am Sooooo impressed! I'm 60 yrs old, sometimes use a cane, and some day if I find myself alone , I want something like this. You just showed me how very possible it is. Love the shower. The way you described everything was with such dignity for your client. Well done on many levels... ❤ it
Thank you! I’m glad you found some inspiration here. The freedom of the open road is possible for everyone ❤️✌🏻
Haven't seen a lot of conversions for the disabled, this is awesome. Putting the desk in the lift is genius. And I love the recliner!!
Thank you! I really love that recliner
Glad you made someone with hindered capabilities so comfortable.
I was happy to hear that she’s already camping at the beach
Very cool.
Really love shower area I have copd need a shower wear I can sit and have room. The rest is pretty cool to
This is amazing! As a disabled person I have been looking for options and other than the huge Class A's with wheelchair lifts, I haven't seen anything. I have 2 small dogs so the crate area is wonderful and I live me my recliner. This is perfect! Wonderful job!!!
This is exactly what you need!
Wow you did an amazing job with taking her needs into consideration for each decision. That makes you my new hero! I've had mobility challenges since a motorcycle accident back in 2009. And the entire time you were giving this tour I felt as if you did things exactly the way they're needed to help this woman gain her confidence back in her mobility. Great job. Im super excited for her and wish her many miles of happiness!
Thank you! This whole build was done with her mobility in mind ❤️✌🏻😎
Laura your comment just warmed my heart and put tears in my eyes. I'm in similar physical condition from what I hear you saying and I know you truly have empathy, compassion and your comment genuine. TY. You never know when something you comment on YT will help others. After a crappy day and evening, your comment gave me hope in others.
I too have mobility issues. I have looked at hundreds of VanLife videos. This is so perfect. You really gave this family such a blessing.
Thank you so much 😊
The countertops are exemplary, and the desk is a splendid use of that space-eating wheelchair lift! So many wins!
I love the counter tops too 🤗
Wow you really nailed it!! Great build for all the Special Needs! Better than being in some room alone and isolated. This has everything a $2K a month Retirement facility could offer. It's better since she can go wherever she wants to go!!
Absolutely! The quality of life out in nature is so much higher
This is the first conversion I’ve seen that caters for disabled, hats off to you and I hope to see a few more!
I was really surprised that one one else is building them. There seems to be a lot of interest
@@nomadbrad503 I would think there would be a lot of interest. I too am disabled and this would work perfectly for me. Do you have your own business building out vans? You did a beautiful job with this bus . Trying to think about a removable storage unit that can live in the shower and move out easily when needing to use it .
@@valerieann2751 there is indeed a lot of interest. Unfortunately, these builds are quite time consuming and I can only complete one per year
@@nomadbrad503 I am sure we could keep a fleet of builders going building for people with mobility challenges. Where can I get an estimate on costs?
I want one of these so badly. I'm in a wheelchair and hardly any rv or trailer companies make accessible options.
I noticed that too. You don’t see rv’s with a lift. That’s why she choose this bus
We bought ours at auction for a song. It took some time and study; we had a good tutor. I think this is a good time, it looks like many cities are replacing their fleets with federal relief $.
Absolutely beautiful conversion. Love the aqua accent colour. You've done an extremely thoughtful conversion, the layout is perfect, with the dog in a position to view its person at all times.
Thank you! I loved the aqua color, it was a request of the owner 😊✌🏻
Good point about dog seeing owner at all times. Great safety feature in that if u think about it. Dogs secure in seeing his owner and owner secure in knowing dog can see what's happening with her.
Thats a great setup for a disabled person. Easy reach, uncluttered and spacious. Great result.
That was my goal, thank you 😊
Great job! Love all the accommodations for the lady. Love the recliner and the full size shower. For the next build, it would be nice to have the lights on dimmers and also have an on/off switch by the bed/recliner, in case she has to get up to use the facilities at night. 👍😁
Thanks for watching!
This is great I’m disabled and would love to live the van / tiny lifestyle but I thought it would be really difficult to do. This has helped me change my mind though. Great build would love to see more vans/tiny houses for disabled people
Thank you so much!
I don’t normally comment on vlogs but I felt that I had to on this one because you have done such a wonderful job in making a practical home for people like us with additional needs and mobility issues. I’ve saved this for future reference because I love how you have fitted in everything so cleverly that this lady will need for daily living. I’m sure that lot of people have been inspired by this and it’s given them hope that they too can live this lifestyle when before they thought that it wouldn’t be an adoption because of mobility needs. Well done you. X
thank you so much for your kind words
Great attention to detail! Your excellent at putting your self in other People's shoes! I'd be comfortable with your customization services!
Thank you so much! I really did try to build it from her needs
@@nomadbrad503 well u did a darn hood job and it looks great. The colors...the cabinets...THAT DESK. Where are u located? Generally? ne? sw? Central? Etc. TY
@@chasethecat3839 thank you! I’m currently in Oregon but getting ready to hit the road soon. Arizona, then the east coast
When I get my bus, I am coming to you! omg, this is beautiful! Absolutely perfect and well thought out. I love the table / desk idea on the ramp! That was brilliant! Well done! Hope that more people will realize where there is a will, there is a way! Thanks Brad! You've inspired me to keep my dream alive!
I’m happy to provide inspiration ❤️✌🏻
Same here!
BRAVO! One of the best I've seen to date. Absolutely brilliant use of space. Peace.
I’m glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Looks so beautiful and practical. You did a great job 👍
Thank you for the feedback ❤️✌🏻
So wonderful. I was hoping more young men could help us seniors get out on the road. Housing is getting so expensive and we only get a check once a month. Thank you, You man for your Creativity and Time. God Bless You Both.and Keep Safe. 2/20/21 Trish
Good to hear ✌🏻❤️
Yez Patricia. The reason I have to ho RV rather than a bus is due to plumbing electric etc being done because I won't have help doing a build. I'd be worried about the cost of materials AND hiring help. I can do minor remodels on an RV myself
As a disabled person myself, you did a great job and really appreciated how much care you took to make it as accessible as possible!
I worked closely with her on design
Best build for a guy like me in a wheelchair
Thank you 🙏🏻
I have CP and ideas like that bus proves over and over that individuals that are handicapped are truly able to be independent in life. Thanks to people like this gentleman that rehabbed the bus.
Thank you
you can do it!
I rarely comment on these videos. I have watched a ton of bus and Van builds. This is by far my favorite. Very ingenious design love love love it.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Super bus! . Great American workmanship. This is the moving heartbeat of the American life.
Wow, what a beautiful comment. Thank you ❤️🙏🏻
This is amazing. Well done! I don't plan on ever needing a lift, but man I love the fold down desk idea! And that shower! Taking notes for my "someday" van life when I can travel between my far-flung kids when I'm retired. :)
Yay🤗 I’m happy to provide some inspiration ❤️
I just turned 60. I suffered a fall that rendered my left thigh unusable & me bed/wheelchair bond. I never expected this & being bed bound is causing a lot of stress in the family. This is perfect for me. Thank you for sharing.
This is extremely impressive! I have never seen a van or skoolie conversion that was specifically for someone with special needs. Looks like you really listened to your client and tried to address all of her needs. The fact that you were able to fit a full sized shower in there and still maintain an open feel is truly amazing. Especially with all the other large items. The van does not seem cramped or closed in at all. I really hope your client falls in love with her van because l think it's awesome!😀
Great job!👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you so much! I do believe that she really loves it
That is a very cool bus!
Thank you so much, I agree!
Nomad Brad Great job👍🏻❣️
GOOD JOB!!! More outdoor activity possibilities for Folks! This makes me HAPPY!!! THANK YOU!!! ENJOY LIFE and BE SAFE!!!
Thanks so Much ✌🏻
Very nice! Great job and it sounds like the owner is very happy!!
She is happy! That makes me happy ❤️😊
As someone who also uses walker, this conversion is awesome! You should honestly sell these plans. You've done an amazing job!! 🚙🇨🇦. (the only potential issue I can see is that the power recliner weighs a ton so I'm not sure how easily she can pull it forward to make the space for the bed. Maybe she be can lay it all the way down and that would work?). Regardless, it's amazing!! 💖
Thanks for watching!
Awesome setup! Would love to have one just like it. I hope the lady gets a lot of enjoyment from it. Great job Brad.
Thank you! She has been out enjoying it since the first day she got it back ❤️
You have done an incredible job... you are resourceful with space and your craftsmanship is excellent. Thanks for sharing the video!
Thank you for watching ❤️
Great job. I am thinking about the possibility of being able to do something like this, and being able to travel again.
You should go for it!
You sir are an actual genius of ingenuity and invention! Xx
I appreciate you
Most walkers have the option to flip around and become the seat so she probably won’t need an extra seat for her desk
Your absolutely correct about that 😊✌🏻
the shower with the windows is the best i saw in van life. An the Idea of the desk in the space of the ramp is so good. Love it.
Thanks for watching!
Looks nice! You did a good job on the build hope she enjoys it!
Thank you! I heard that she’s already camping on the Oregon coast with it 😎
Finally! A truly handicapped accessible conversion! I like it!!!
Yes it is! This really is the best option for someone with a chair or walker
Beautiful Countertops, ❤️❤️❤️ the sink , WOW you had me at FULL SHOWER Brad, so nice to have, I like they can still use the windows, and your Desk design is GENIUS & utilizes the ramp , so many great custom features , can you let us know what something like this would cost & if you ever decide to share your talents, A shuttle bus is my # 1 on my list because they are affordable , easy to repair / drive vs a 40 ft school bus ✌️ Marta Phoenix AZ 😎
I love the ford econoline platform. Unfortunately custom builds are not fast or cheap. This build took about 4 months and ran about $10k in parts/materials, and about the same in labor(which is on the cheap side) plus you have to account for the cost of the vehicle.
@@nomadbrad503 4 months beats diy taking a year or two
A couple of days ago my daughter said, mommy how realistic is it for a handicap person (me) to consider getting on the road in a van etc.??? I didn’t respond. Now I see this... WOW, great job!!! It gives me hope for a long overdue dream
You CAN make your dream your reality. Dreams are merely the beginning of our reality ✌🏻😊
@@nomadbrad503 thank you immensely for the reminder and the encouragement!!!
Beautiful. Love the look of the interior. She will love it.
Absolutely! She’s already visiting the coast
How cool is this!!!! I am thrilled she will be able to continue on her adventures in style, even with limitations! You've given her some freedom again! Love this!!! It would be fun to know an update, how she's doing in the bus now?
She has had the bus for almost a year…camping in Arizona right now 😊
This is an incredible build! This might be the route I need to go to accommodate my scooter :) I love how well thought out this is 🙂
I hope this helps you out ❤️✌🏻
@@nomadbrad503 Thank you! :D
It was your labor of love for all the care you put into it. Very nice.
Thank you so much
I think you did a great job! I know I don't want to give up on a recliner so I have taken a bucket seat with arms and put it on a wooden box with a foot plate that flips up, maually, but the seat is also on a swivel and reclines beautifully. Determined to be lazy LOL
That sounds amazing!
Wow. Determined to be COMFORTABLE seems to me. Hey. every BODY needs down time, right? Would love to see a picture of that 😀
Love it!!!, specifically the full bathroom. You are giving hope and freedom to many people. Definitely the best I have seen.
Thank you, the bathroom is amazing
Good job. First handicap accessible skoolie that I have seen online. I want a full size handicap accessible bus. I am in a wheelchair. Great idea on the fold down desk..ps if you know of some more handicap accessible buses, could you share the links.
I’m so happy that handicapped folks are getting out into the nomad like ❤️✌🏻
@@nomadbrad503 maybe u could do builds only for the handicapped? Just an idea.

Really great job! As an aging & sick person myself, you really did an outstanding job of giving her comfort plus it looks really nice!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great build. It's a shame you do builds for others. You have so much talent to share. Love the desk on the lift but if folks ate going to walk on it..I would poly it like the counter tops to protect the wood for getting trashed. But an awesome idea I will steal if I get that kind of vehicle. My sister wants this or shuttle bus.
The desk is treated with teak oil. It’s not a hard resin but helps protect from moisture. I’ll definitely think about using poly in the future ✌🏻
Thank you so much. Blown away by the creativity and thoughtful design.
Thank you so much!
I would have loved to hear about the insulation too
a revolving captains chair would have been perfect too
No insulation was added
Really really really cool!!!! I'm disabled too and I never would've thought about a recliner wow I am super impressed she's a lucky gal!! Ty for sharing!! ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
She loves the recliner. Still out there traveling today
It would be really nice for her to have screens for the windows and doors. Especially boondocking.
I agree! Maybe she can find someone to make custom screens
Theres a company who makes them. If I can find the link. I'll send them to her. It's a specifically made item so the person doing the build wouldn't put them in unless a specific request. It would be cheaper to order and install. I seen other van lifers use them and not hard to utilize
@@chasethecat3839 would love to know the source when you find it. At this point Mom is thinking curtains for privacy.
This is an awesome build. I'm on a walker/wheelchair so I really love that this is something I could actually use
It would be a great fit
You did an amazing job.
Thanks Kathy!
It looks like you do very high quality work and that you really care about giving the client what they ask for. Well done!
Thank you so much! I try my best
This is the first video that I have seen on your channel. I'm subscribing because this build is awesome. I look forward to watching more of your content.
Thank you so much for subscribing
@@nomadbrad503 you're welcome ☺️
This is really awesome! I’m glad even handicap people can live debt-free too now.
Absolutely! And have the freedom to explore nature
I think you sorta have to have SOME money to even start, much less build one. They certainly seem to be at least a 2 person job. I've seen things like this for a LOT of money.
Congratulations!
It's really beautiful.
Thank you so much 😊
Nice job for lady wo uses a walker. I wish I could afford something like this, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching
Fabulous van...love this one ❤️❤️

Simple build. Not fancy. Not expense. But just ever day stuff with good building techniques.
Thank you! It was definitely a budget build
This is an amazing build! Well done, Brad.
Thank you Mario! I hope your doing well ✌🏻
Magnificent build! I especially admire the recliner/folding bed area. The shower was well thought out too!
Thank you so much! She is still loving it 😊
What a great job you did!!! How do I get one???
Thank you!
Have a ton of money. Lol. They're at least 100k.
Really handi-comfort. Like the recliner. Great ideas and workmanship. Mahalo.
Thank you so much 😊✌🏻
This build is also perfect for retiree, I have been searching for a build that suits my needs I don't need the lift or cpap machine area but everything else I would like. When you're getting on in age you need ease in doing things. Perfection Brad. I will contact you shortly 😊 😀
Thanks for watching
Wow! This was a great build with mobility issues in mind. I'll bet if you built one out you could rent it out to families wanting a two week camping trip with their disabled child or grandparent. There sre locking mechanisms you can install in the floor to lock an electric wheel chair in the aisle. Go to a handicapped van conversion place to get ideas and see what is required. This opens up many possibilities for many people. Very nice.😊
That’s a great idea
Please do more videos for individuals who are handicap. I would love to know more.
Thank u for making a handicap person feel good with this bus that suit her well thanks for thinking of how to make a handicap person fell good
She loves it !
I am so glad to see this as I have considered one with accessibility. Love the shower and the platform still being in use.
The shower is my favorite part of the conversion
That wheelchair lift with the desk on the back is an idea I may have to incorporate into my build.
Please do!😊✌🏻
This is an AWESOME build!!! It has almost everything my wife and I need for our mobile ministry that we are being called to do. A few minor adjustments (which I e-mailed you about) and I would LOVE to own one. This has given me such hope for the calling God has put on my heart. You have no idea! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Thanks for watching!
It is awesome that you can customize your building for special purposes/customers. You have some really cool gadgets like the round aqua blue nobs and latches. I hope she enjoys it for many years to come! I love the live edge countertops. Great job on your bus conversion 👍
Thank you so much Mae! I loved the knobs so much that I used the same style in my personal van
Very cool! I have been thinking about how I would design a bus like that if I could find one. There are not many out there to look at. Thank you

It looks great too me, I hope she gets years of enjoyment out of it. Take care and YHVH bless.
My thoughts exactly 😊✌🏻
Honestly COOLEST build ever🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much 😊
I like all the different products you used. I have same bus! Thanks 😊
Awesome! I’m glad you Liked it
awesome !!!! as a handicap woman I would have bought one of these in a minute,... too bad I'm in a nursing home now, but it's a beautiful bus .... good job !!

well thought out and executed. And the explanation is clear too. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
How beautiful!! Saving your info for when I'm ready!!
GREAT JOB!
Thank you ✌🏻❤️
I wish I had a bus like this, having really bad R.A, it sucks, something like this would make it easier to travel.
It’s definitely a life changer
WOW...I so need this! My wife and I have been camping most all our lives and recently had purchased our 'dream' motor home but due to my becoming wheelchair bound earlier this year had to sell it. Now we want/need something like this so we can remain campers. This would be perfect!
Awesome! Solutions are out there

Life is a puppet show 😂
Fantastic high-quality job!! Thanks for Sharing!!
Thank you so much for watching!
What a great job sir. Finishes are amazing.
Thank you so much
I am a handicapped person myself and the two major hassles are the shower/bathroom and then accessibility to get INTO the van/bus whatever. Handicap accessible is different for everyone as we all have different issues. The shower is very well done!! Keeping controls up high is a MAJOR WIN!!! I to have to sleep in a recliner it’s very nice to be handicap and not be forced to stay home because amenities don’t fit your needs! Job well done!! Does this person/couple have a RUclips channel? I’d love to follow her adventures!!
I’m so happy to hear that this is helpful to you! You should definitely hit the road if it’s in your plans...unfortunately they do not have a RUclips
I love it. I could take out the bed and go with the chair for sleeping that would give you room for storage. Im handicap use a walker also nice and not over done she can have things added as she uses it.
You could absolutely go without a bed to have more space!
I love this! I am fully mobile but just the practicality in this conversion is amazing! Only thing I wondered about was if she can't step very high can she get into the bed or is the recliner her main sleeping source? Hope she is loving her van as much as possible. Safe travels to her and her daughter.
Recliner is main sleeping location
Truly beautiful conversion for a disable person!
Thank you so much!
You ROCKED IT 😎I have been looking at this particular bus 🚌 retiring in about three years. Actually would like to get started sooner. Thanks for great video ‼️
I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊✌🏻
This is looking good for my bus build! Mine is almost the exact same, but my lift is in the back. Trying to get started. Thanks for the ideas!

Habitat For Humanity "Restore" is a great place to find interesting stuff; windows, doors, electric items, lights, stoves. Anything found in a house. They get used and a lot of new stuff from contractors who over purchased.
Thanks for the great tip!
