Just started watching Luca and Sara’s video’s (LEAW)from the beginning and saw your interview with them on your school bus up in Alaska from 3 years ago. You commented that someone had just emailed you and asked you how long you would be doing this and you replied that you couldn’t see yourself stopping. Glad to see that 3 years later you are still living your dream and life on your terms. That’s amazing😊
For your consideration. Don't need another pump for the gravity fill, use your system pump. Add some fittings and valves to shut off the system and use the pump as a fill pump. When filling is finished change the valves back to system usage. You're very smart at this kind of stuff so I know you can figure it out. I already have it pictured in my mind so it can't be too difficult. Enjoy your videos.
It's all good as "there's no problems just solutions" w/NavigationNoWhere‼️🎯✅ Your demeanor, chilled awesomeness‼️☮️😎 Dolton is also fantastic‼️🎯✅ You have an incredible team #NavigationNoWhere, Dad, SisRachell, Luke, & Dolton‼️🎯✅🤩😎
I've always wanted to have a bus like this it's been my dream to live on a bus travel but with my health and my age now kind of like gone by but at least I get to watch your videos and enjoy it that way God bless y'all wonderful people
That roof top porch is cool and, reminds me of the James Taylor song, Upon the Roof. The whole build looks great. I'd marry this guy if I could. We can live in the bus together.
I'm not trying to knock you but I think it's good that you had some issues. For 2 reasons 1 it shows the rest of us, who may not be as adept as you are, that even thought you are a skilled and meticulous builder you can still make mistakes. and 2 that even mistakes can be adjusted it you just take the time to work out the problem and don't go off half cocked. Great job, so far and I've been with this build from when you first bought the bus. Can't wait to see the final edition. I'm sure it's gonna be fantastic.
Hi Michael and Dalton Great video I have to say I would have done the outer water fill 1st then the outside plug for the bus 2nd then work on the inside things etc
The boxes that you made holes in the side of the bus, ya might be able to use a small drill bit and make a hole from inside out basically that hole would be center of whatever you attaching so you would be able to center your template on the hole knowing what's on the other side. hope that made sense
So true about poking holes in the side of the vehicle! On my box truck build every time I think I am done I am like "oh yeah, haven't installed that other thing yet". I am also feeling the same way about eventually installing a back up camera. I litterally can't see out the back of the box truck, so the mirror is useless. And I have been avoiding big screens because I don't have a good placement for it. Never thought of swapping out the mirror for the backup monitor. Makes so much sense.
I am er sure this is real time. But for reference, power the camera monitor with a cigar lighter fitting, then it becomes a mobile monitor, you can carry into the computer or in bed. When parked up and monitor your surroundings.
Other design solution for counter. Extend counter after fridge box, but have one rear facing seat of dinette, and then stool under counter for another seat. Storage in read facing seat, but still have a constant desk/eating space available.
if you put a valve in the line from the gravity fill, it could be used with a funnel and maybe some tubing to used the gravity fill. Open valve, fill tank, close valve. Also, the valve will be needed to prevent water coming OUT the gravity fill while using the city fill etc.
The city fill is for pressure after the water tank so you don't need the pump, not to fill the water tank. But I guess you can use it to fill the tank and then use the water pump all the time.
It's looking so good! Been watching since the beginning and I'm so psyched to see it finished! Question: Is the black paint you used on the ladder a special kind? I'm just wondering if it's going to burn the living crap out of whoever grabs onto it in the summer.😬 Then again, I'm from the South, so I'm afraid of all metal in the summer.😅
Hey Mike, the chest frigid cabinet may need a in and out vent if it’s going to be in closed to make it run as it is promoted on the package. Idk I maybe jumping the gun with out seeing the final product on how it’s going to look or what you have planned already lol. Keep up the amazing work you guys!
Your totally right. The side facing the front of the bus will be where the vents on the 12v model will be and I’ll add vent holes later. They will be hidden under the “countertop dinette” so it will be somewhat hidden in the final product. Thanks !!
Coming along and looking really good. I don't know if you would need the additional space or not @22:00 but how about a kick drawer under the storage area below the fridge?
Looking really great so far, learning a lot while I’m building mine! Can I ask the exact paint brand you bought for Ivan? I had a bit of a bus paint disaster and I have to do everything over 😅 only solutions tho right lol?? I went for a green oil based gloss but the paint I bought was no Bueno.
I think I might have removed a small section of the wood rail and placed the water fill there. I can't be sure that would work, so just an idea. I love this build!
Thanks, i thought about cutting the wood but it would have been a big adjustment. So, I left it were it was because i decided on plumbing it with a one way value on the city fill..
Dang I kinda feel gut punched. When you explained the water tank and filling system. Electric and water would be my number onesies. I d be terrified it would never be full
SHOULD WIRE BACKUP CAMERA TO BACKUP LIGHTS SO IT WILL TURN ON WHEN YOU PUT BUS INTO REVERSE USE A SPDT SWITCH AND YOU CAN WIRE IT TO TURN ON WHEN YOU WANT IT TO.
I just thought that the bed would be to small for 2 and not everybody wants to cuddle. Does your plan for the inside include some hooks for a hammock? Another idea is to create a cutting board with a little something from everybody that helped you building this bus. A name or so written on top or carved in or branded in with a soldering iron. So whenever you will cut onions, you will have a nice excuse, why you are crying. 😋 🤣 😉
you could put the fill in the wood , another option that alows you to fill the tank with gravityfeed is to put a pump in between to lift it over the hump (could actually put a 2 way valve in there so youre able to put a hose in the jerrycan inside the bus and suck it empty intoo the main tank , saves you lifting the jerrycan up to the inlet and holding it there untill its empty
Interested to learn how you are going to clean up the cockpit, the dashboard, the driver seat, a passenger seat? And fix up the door (still have yellow paint).
You guys have progressed so much! This is really looking awesome! Can't wait to see the flooring and bathroom get done. Is the plywood going to be a problem for the shower/bathroom?
Great work. Question, why have fridge on slide if you can just have part of the counter top lift up above it? It can. Attached to the lid so u can just unlatch it and lift open the fridge.
A word of caution with the deck on top. If you go on country scenic roads the bridges are lower than most bridges. Also their measurements could be less than what is stated. I’ve seen first hand someone skim the top of their coach camper, not a pretty sight. Be safe. I like your build. 👍👍
If you want your gravity feed water back here's an idea. If you can find a removable watertight connection (did not see your connection point) put those parts together as if the connection is the bottom of a pee-trap like under a sink. the fill pipe goes outside above the top of your tank. And I'm sure that you can find a brace to hold the temporary fill tube. A little water on the side of the bus when removing your brand new custom gravity water filling device that you wanted to make because you most certainly did not make a mistake in measuring. If it's important to you. 🤥😂🤣
Its Ok Mike. When do you really use gravity fill anyway? Seems like you will always use a pressurized hose to fill. just need a back-flow preventer in the city fill line right?
If you look at my build of Iris.the.bus, it has two water fill doors for a reason lmao.... it happens to the best of us! We just picked up a Collins body bus for a new build out as well
I might have missed what you said bout the bar style table, it’s going to be the same height as the top of fridge countertop? Would that be heigh enough to sit at? It’s looking so good. Guessing only few more weeks till you hit the road.
Do you feel like these have enough space I wanna build out a mobile shop and all my equipment can literally fit on one table and I wanna add a chair for working it’s between a 3/4 window bus and a shuttle bus
That’s something I have been thinking about. We will have a fun mix between travels and builds. We still have dale and Rachel’s projects as well as some trips I have already planned for the summer.
@@navigationnowhere that is exactly what I was hoping for. You could easily build a series based on offering your immense talent for a couple of weeks to different people building their own bud/homes
You water tank is not meant to be pressurized. While you could pressure fill it with a hose connected to that fixture, ( making sure the tank is vented ) it is not meant to be part of the pressure system. ALSO I noticed your tank's gravity inlet is on the bottom of the tank. Usually that would be placed on the top...JMO
When I said pressure fill I meant from a hose or rv fill station. The tank will have a bleed value which will allow the air to escape from the tank. We will plumb the tank system in a future video.
Just have a portable electric water pump to put pressure to any water filled from a receptacle that would have been gravity fill so everything can be pressure filled
Please don’t take this personally ....but......THANK YOU FOR THE FAIL 👍🏻👍🏻. There are so many things I’ve never done before, that I’m learning in my bus process, and fear of mistakes can slow me down. But if you can carry on .... so can I ! 👍🏻👍🏻🙏

Wow! Spring has sprung in the ADK!!! Yeah!!!
so glad your ladder works in both directions. those one-way ladders are a pain in the butt 😉
I just love the way you take your time and not rushing to get it done

Great work on that ladder. Looks sturdy. Love the colour of your bus too - looks amazing.
Your bus is coming together nicely Michael!!! I can't wait to see the fridge, freezer, also the shower and toilet. :)
Get yourself a small transfer pump so you can fill the tank and a checkvalve to keep water in
That is so cool! You guys have some skills.
I really like the way you did the ladder. I will definitely be stealing some of your ideas. Thanks
Be sure to put a check valve on your water fill lines, so the the water doesn’t run out as you fill. You can get a simple flap style check valve.
Again things are coming along and looking great you all make things look so smooth to install great job looking forward to what’s next ❤️❤️🌈🌈🙏🏾🙏🏾
Greetings from Ireland well done guys it looks great

I would have hinged the wood to raise the water inlets 👍long as it still works it'll be fine
Don’t forget to put grips on each step of the ladder so your foot doesn’t slip off
Awesome video 👌 the water fill will work awesome 👍🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦🛠️

The bus looking so sharp great job! 👍👍

on the gravity fill line you could stick a small 12v water pump inline to assist filling the tank to the top

you can use the hole as the bottom line of the template so you need to cut in the wood trim

Measure on both sides b4 cutting use string or a cardboard cut out to see where it falls on the other side.
RV Shops wire the Backup Camera's to the Clearance Lights, when you turn on the lights, it's on!

You might want to super glue the gravity feed shut to prevent a helpful friend from using it to try and fill the tank

Should be able to use a one way valve to maintain the gravity fill
That’s the plan. I just ordered a one way value for the line

You should have taped your bus to prevent paint damage when cutting for the fill hole.
on your water fill put like an inverted water trap you will be raising whear that tank seeks its own level

Since hindsight is always 20/20, would it have been better to install all the exterior stuff before starting on the inside???
Yes, but I was unable to because of the temperature fell below a reasonable point to caulk and seal it correctly for winter.
