    1. Intro [00:00]
    2. Connect the Galaxy S21+ to the PC with a USB cable [02:41]
    3. Grant USB Debugging access if you haven't done so in the past
    4. Open a Command Prompt, PowerShell, or Terminal in the same folder as your ADB file [03:04]
    5. Enter an ADB Shell [03:25]
    6. Execute the pm uninstall commands for each secret Facebook application and service you want to uninstall [03:48]
    7. What if I install an OTA update? [06:39]
    Hidden Facebook Applications Package Names:
    com.facebook.system
    com.facebook.appmanager
    com.facebook.services
When combing through the applications that were installed on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, I noticed there were three different Facebook apps hidden away in the settings section. I found this to be odd because there wasn't a Facebook application icon to be found.
Granted, I could have uninstalled the Facebook app earlier and forgotten.
Anyway, I don't like how Facebook has pre-installed Facebook apps (three different ones on my International Exynos variant). Apps that cannot be uninstalled from the settings area.
You can disable them through the App Settings area, though. So if you don't want to uninstall them via ADB commands (as shown in this video) then you can simply disable them right here if you wish.
    #GalaxyS21 #Android #Samsung #GalaxyS21Ultra
But if you're like me and want them gone, let's enable Developer Mode on the Galaxy S21+ and then enable USB Debugging Mode. You also need to have ADB & Fastboot tools installed. If you're unfamiliar with how to do any of this check the links at the top of this tutorial.
Go ahead and connect the phone to the PC with a USB cable and open up a Command Prompt, Windows PowerShell, or a Terminal window in the same folder as our ADB & Fastboot tools are installed in.
From here, some will do the ADB Devices command to check and make sure the connection has been established properly. If your device doesn't show up when you run that command, there's something wrong (could be USB drivers related, or USB debugging mode not being enabled/allowed, etc).
But we simply need to drop into what is known as an ADB shell prompt. Once there, we can execute commands as if they were done directly on the Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphone. Which is exactly what we want to do here.
The command we're looking to use is. . .
pm uninstall -k --user 0 [package name]
Where [package name] is replaced with the package name of the application you want to uninstall using the pm uninstall ADB shell command. You can find this by downloading an APK package name application from the Play Store.
But if you're just looking to get rid of these three Facebook services then I've already done that work for you (I included this list right below the step by step guide above). So just execute that pm uninstall command on each of the three secret Facebook apps.
You should see a "SUCCESS" message after each of the pm uninstall commands you run. If you get an error here, then the app has not been uninstalled for the current user and you'll likely see it in the list of apps installed.

I noticed that right away, every phone I get... I chk out the settings front to back, open developer settings, etc. I see they added Facebook Manager, Facebook Service's and Facebook Installer! Great video.

I'm okay with pre-installed apps as long as they can be uninstalled (these three should have been removed when the main app was uninstalled, imo). So I'll do what I can to prevent them from being able to run. Thanks for the feedback! :)

It says my device is unauthorized when i type adb devices to see if its connected... what does this mean?

    • @ExplainingAndroid
      @ExplainingAndroid  3 года назад +1

it means you haven't allowed the USB Debugging mode access (like you refused the prompt when it appeared)
you can reset this by going into dev mode and selecting the 'reset authorizations' option. then you'll get that prompt again when using adb devices

    Hi, great tutorial, thank you!
I Have found some more useless Apps on my German S21 Ultra:
    de.axelspringer.yana.zeropage
    com.netflix.partner.activation
    com.netflix.mediaclient
    com.swiftkey.swiftkeyconfigurator
    com.touchtype.swiftkey
    com.microsoft.skydrive
    com. google. android. youtube
    com.google.android.apps.tachyon
And I could remove them successfully.
How can one insert all these commands at once in batch in case of a Software update? or maybe make a Terminal Script?

If you disable the 3 Facebook apps, then, you don't really need to bother with uninstalling. Uninstalling just throws it into cold storage anyways.
