What a relief to learn that I can do this on my own! Can't wait to try it. Thank you, Explaining Android, for your generosity of time and expertise. While there are many smart people out there with your attributes, few are patient enough to speak slowly and roll out the instructions at a realistic pace for those following. You've saved me SO much time. Usually I have to rewind constantly and hit pause repeatedly just to capture the simplest portion of instruction. Perfect pacing!! Cheers
You MUST disable USB Debugging mode when you are done with it, as a security measure! There is a relatively low probability that, say, a public charging spot or a computer you plug into will be trying to find its way into your cellphone, and you will click on connection acknowledgement popup by mistake. Then such a surreptitious "charging station" has a complete access to an unlocked phone, on a low level. Yes, low probability, but it's full access though.
By 'connection acknowledgement' I gather you're referring to the words 'allow the computer to access this device'? If so and you're removing the Visit In app using your computer, then you'd have to allow this access. Do you then use USB Debugging after uninstalling the app? Finally, when you say 'public charging spot' what are you referring to? And really appreciate your insight. Am shocked to continually discover just how many holes there are in these devices!!
Doesn't Samsung just reinstall it during an update? Also, if the app is running in the background, does that mean Samsung are effectively tracking the device 24/7? If so, why would they need to do that? Is there a log of that tracking stored anywhere?
Of course that data is stored somewhere, else they would not bother to provide this "useful and convenient" app for free. Maybe it's like google history, that you can delete? Even then, it is probably still in their mega storage.

only if the OTA update contains changes to the app/service. sometimes OTA updates are like 3MB in size and don't change much. and sometimes they're much bigger and bring lots of new updates so it will depend in my experience

I have a Galaxy S9 and it doesn't have developer options. Is there any other way to remove Samsung Visit In? Also, with ADB and Fastboot what do I use for a username? Sorry but I'm a real newby.
@@bharathveer that would be why :) So, the core uninstall command that we're using with ADB here is definitely present on your device. What I have noticed though, is that sometimes the "arguments" and/or the syntax used, will vary from device to device (possibly either from OEM to OEM. . .or from one version of Android to another) I would bet you could find the full uninstall command for this phone in its device forum over on XDA. A search in the dedicated forum for the phone may pull up a result. But you could also ask in their help sub-forum for the specific device. I don't own the phone so I can't test. But that would be the way I would find out if I were in your shoes
So I seem to keep finding different ways to spy on my phone that I'm sure my future ex-wife either has used or is using to track my phone so she can be a more proficient piece of human garbage. Could you do a video on how to detect apps or services that could be hidden in an android "like my S21 Ultra" and also says to remove these services from your device? I would be really grateful. My kids would also be grateful.

Thank you! It's been so annoying not to be able to get rid of that app.
Thank you. Its pretty ridiculous that Samsung installs a tracking app after an update.

same commands for powershell users?
as long as it's launched from the same folder as your ADB & Fastboot tools, it should be the same command
Is it not going to be reinstalled with next OTA update ?

Easier to just rescind location permission in settings app list (not visible in app drawer)
Dev mode active, USB debugging on, adb command window open, enter command adb shell, "error: no devices/ emulators found".
