  • Talking a little bit about some of the basics of rope flow, a style of training I have been incorporating in my practice the last year.
    I was originally exposed to this from David Weck and Chris Chamberlain when I took a seminar with the Weck Method
    Overall, I love the rope. It's a simple, low-tech tool that allows for some complex movements. The movements are low impact and gentle on the body, but can mimic patterns found in many athletic disciplines. Plus, it's super fun to swing around.

    Appreciate your presentation. I love to hang a set or two of gymnastic rings on tree limbs or local playground equipment and max out with pull-ups, push-ups and dips all incorporating my legs in a "cheat" pattern to get the heart rate up and then grab my ropes and flow through the trails/fields to "shake out" the body and then rinse and repeat for an hour. At 72 years of age it is a very challenging and enjoyable workout for someone who can no longer "jump" rope or run for fitness due to orthopedic concerns and the equipment is portable, inexpensive and with some practice easily learnable. --mike

    Yuri, thank you very much for doing this particular video! I've introduced me to the best tool I have ever being in contact with. It's a whole new universe of educating the movements of my body. i'm using it to recover from a knee injury and it feels great! My upper and lower body feel connected in a way I didn't remeber was possible. I really apreciate finding this content.

    Silly doesn't matter if it's doing the job of getting you out of a chair, moving, and healthier. One person's silly is another person's fun. More fun than lifting dumbbells.

    Such a wonderful video! I appreciate all the thoughts and insight you have shared. The pandemic provided a silver lining for rope flow and jump rope in that a lot of people came on board and have begun to benefit from the things that you mention. Thanks for this great video!

    Absolutely love your content.
    Great no clutter approach without any filler or spam. Distilled information.
    Any chance you will ever do a handstand seminar in Germany or Europe in general?

      oh man I hope so.
      Before 2020 I was traveling to Europe to teach at least a couple times a year.
      I made one trip at the start of 2020, then had to completely cancel two others that I had planned.
      I would love to go back again, but travel is a bit unpredictable right now.
      What's the current situation over there? Lockdowns? are travelers with USA passports allowed in? Quarantine regulations?
      I'm happy to start thinking about booking workshops again, but there are many logistical questions that need to be addressed

      Haha yeah, in my enthusiasm i totally forgot about covid.
      Unpredictable is the right word. Regulations change to often to keep track if you are not directly affected by travel restrictions.
      I work at home and have a decent home gym, so i tend to not occupy myself to much with what currently is allowed and what is not.
      Summer 2021 is probably the earliest something like that would be possible again, not sure how likely that is though. Depends heavily on the country as well.
      Where is the best way to stay up to date regarding workshops? Do you post them on your Website or send notifications on your mailing list?

      @@oliverruane yeah either social media or email list is the best way to stay updated

    How many inches does the rope have to be long for a good workout? Thank you

    Which rope do you recommend? They range from 30 to 80 euros so complicated, in this video you use the standard RTM rope?

    • @yurimar
      @yurimar  3 года назад +1

      the rope I use for most of this video is from winding ropes
      they're all good quality, material is slightly different with different feels.
      I would say go for the one where the company is closest to you

    Are those ropes heavier than your standard climbing rope? I have a good amount of retired rope like that which I could repurpose...

    • @yurimar
      @yurimar  3 года назад +1

      a bit heavier and more flexible than climbing ropes I think, but still worth playing around with
