My good friend, Bill Hayes, was a longtime childhood best friend of Gary's. Sadly, Bill died of an undiagnosed heart condition a few years ago. But... not to bring you people down. Bill was very proud of his good friend Gary. And I was very happy to have know him. Bill was also a school teacher. And an all-over wonderful guy! Because of Bill, I would go see Extreme many times live at the "Living Room" in Providence. An awesome club, that unfortunately is no longer there. Some of my best 1980's memories. Thank you Bill, and thank you Gary, for all the 80's teenage memories. Keep on Killing it!

I said the first day I listened to this album, that these guys had the best harmonies of any of the bands of this era. And you are 100% correct...there are no bands today that even come close to being able to pull this kind of stuff off!!

I remember Vivian Campbell saying in an interview when he first joined Def Leppard that it was one of the few bands he knew of that actually SING their harmony parts and do it well...but from a production standpoint, I do recall a lot of their stuff being fairly effects intensive. As for Extreme, Nuno stated one time that he, Gary, and Pat just kind of naturally fell into where they normally sit singing 3 part harmony...that it was almost effortless. My choice vocally would still be Extreme.

Saw these guys in Germany, promoting Pornograffiti and they did NOT disappoint!! Funny thing was that I was the isolated audience members who seemed to know any of their songs besides More Than Words. I still remember that Nuno played the intro riff to this twice as fast as he needed to, which created a weird distortion that sounded like very loud silence. His acoustic solo was utter madness, which impressed even the girls waiting for them to play MTW. What a great band! Thanks for uploading!
For a song whose subject material is so lighthearted, this song never fails to mesmerize me. The harmonies sound like something you'd here in church, and the note Gary starts holding at @2:35.. wow!! One of the most complex (harmony-wise) songs they ever did!

When I got extreme album I always skipped more than words sadly they are the more than words group. If they had come out 1983 to 86 they would have been a huge band but they were 89 to 95 and that was to late. Nuno is a wizard on guitar and Gary was great lead man. Awesome band

I am a lucky gut that was able to open for this MONSTER band 5 time in the 80's Extreme 3 times at the Living Room in Providence RI one time at the Channel in Boston ,Ma and my faverit was at Tody's place in conn . Great guys and players and always made us feel at home in the dressing room with us . Nuno said to me anyone that plays a old kiss song was cool with me . Me and the other band member would go see them practice in Revare Mass and they would be killing it always open practices !

All the non-Gary guys in that band look like the guys who would work in the guitar or drums department of the local mom & pop music stores that made most of their money renting/selling trumpets and clarinets to middle school band students. Then suddenly in 1984 they needed to stock guitars, drums, and amps because EVH exploded the rock scene through MTV and needed to hire the local long-haired guys to have a "cool" presence in the store to attract the pimply 12-year-olds who wanted to play rock and metal music. Those are the non-Gary guys in this band and I won't be convinced otherwise.

I think if I remember correctly, Gary said in an old interview that some of the stuff on their debut was meant to reflect on his childhood... hence the lyrics to this song.

I love extreme I’ve decided they’re fitting on my battle vest as well, there’s always glammy bands missing thankfully on the last section of my patch’s it fits up there’s always a room on the very bottom like a train
when this came out i said to myself "who the fuck is this?" immediately following nuno was on the cover of the magazine "guitar for the practicing musician" as metal God in waiting (i apologize if i got the publication wrong but i am old guy). Pornographitti was a throw-in gift. Aside from More Than Words, I fell in love with it as soon as I played it! I even forgave them for that song after hearing the full album.

I am sure Gary Cherone doesn't remember me but he used to work at the record store at the Meadow Glen Mall in 1981 when I worked at The Levi's Store. I used to yell down the Mall to Gary, "Gary, Don't Want to Go to Work, Today." You Should Have Credited Me in the Song, Gary. ;)
