Sterling Holloway MORON THAN OFF

Sterling Holloway's series of two-reelers at Columbia offered him the rare chance to be the "star". It's no secret that Columbia rehashed earlier scripts for dozens of the 526 comedy shorts the studio churned out, and Holloway's series wasn't spared. MORON THAN OFF (1946) is a remake of Harry Langdon's I DON'T REMEMBER from 11 years earlier (BTW , the Langdon version can also be found here on youtube for those wanting to compare).

For those who don't know, Preston Black was a pseudonym used by Jules White's older brother Jack, who wrote numerous scripts for the Three Stooges' two-reel shorts and others on the Columbia lot under his own name and directed some as "Preston Black" during the 1930s.

Columbia "writers" recycling AGAIN. This plot was used in an earlier version, made at Columbia, back in the 30's with Harry Langdon titled "I Can't Remember."
