Yeah, that part where she says, "See this?" about one fist and hits her with the other.

Here is Buster with an old Vaudeville guy Matt McHugh . Frank and Kitty's brother.

This is only the 2nd time that I've seen Matt Mchugh (the other was in a 3 Stooges short when he played a friend/neighbourhood doctor who sold them his car). His brother Frank was busy in the 1930's and 40's, especially in movies with his great friend James Cagney. They and Spencer Tracy and Pat O'Brien and others hung out together and were called the Irish mafia I think.

Buster could Not have written any thing this LAME. In the 1940's Buster had to do as Hollywood said. All creative control was by some one else and they sure couldn't do a very good job. Besides when Buster was in control he never used scripts. I'll be a monkey's uncle if he had creative control and directed. I love everything Buster , But this is Not the Buster i've come to Love and know. I know Hollywood had their dirty little fingers in this. in the 40's they told Buster what he couldn't do. They used him . This is awful

I constantly had an impression he was drunk when acting this.

He probably came up with a lot of the gags, though.

Not very good acting in this at all. Keaton was better off in 'SILENT' films where he needn't worry about dialogue, only putting on a performance.
That goes for both HE and the chick.
