- One of six short films made for Columbia Pictures (from 1946-1949) starring comedic actor Sterling Holloway; best known for his voice work with Disney. He is, perhaps, most well recognised for being the original voice actor of Winnie the Pooh.
Sterling portrays a newly inducted cop who's father was also on the force - and was widely respected and admired for his actions - thus leaving him under expectation of the chief to succeed similarly; a criteria which he doesn't meet.
After being approached for directions to the bank by a known criminal, which he gives him, unknowing of who he is at first, or his previous crimes, he therefore becomes the cause of a heist going to plan - resulting in a one-man crime wave sweeping the city.
Failing in his first opportunity to capture him, due to some sneaky tricks which result in the loss of not only the loot, but his gun, his keys, and his engagement ring - after some deliberation - he impersonates another crook in order to gain access to where he is known to hang out in an elaborate attempt to get a hold of him; resulting in some hilarious consequences, and an unlikely success.
I already know am not the only one picturing winnie the pooh as a police officer. 🤣👍❤️
Creepy lady at 0:01.
She was pissed that Columbia promised her a "big career in motion pictures", only to end up as a "leader lady" test image. ;)
Scared the freaking daylights out of me 😂
Oh my lord! I didn't even notice that. 🤣👍
