I'm so glad you've done tucker and Dale. A modern classic horror/comedy that was fresh upon arrival . I kinda knew what I was getting into when I first saw it, but it was still loaded with surprises and laughs. Love the wood chipper scene 😂. It came out at the right time with the resurgence of Cabin in the woods horrors, evil dead remake and cabin in the woods. Out of the 3 tucker and Dale is the one that stood out to me. Cabin in the Woods is a superb film but I just love the way this flips all the clichés and gives us a different point of view. I can't disagree with your scores I'd put a 7 on it, as the last 20 mins isn't quite as good as it could've been. Saying that I watch it if it comes up great little movie that never fails to make me smile. Nice to see Tom I hope him and is family are doing well. Top job lads 🍻
The thing I love most about this movie is how self aware and blasphemous it is. The movie has the college kids acting like characters in the Scream franchise, they're aware of the horror genre stereotypes and try to use that to their advantage. However this movie does a complete role reversal by having them be completely wrong and suffering from premature karma. The stereotypical final girl becomes more of a damsel in distress until her aforementioned psychology skills play a role in delivering some misguided exposition that explains why the lead college kid is so prejudiced. Only to later reveal another twist in which the college kid is actually the deranged spawn of a psychopath. This is a rare case of taking an overused plot, setting and characters yet create something unique and brilliant out of it.
Alan Tudyk is an incredible actor and highly underrated. He's awesome at comedy and specifically physical comedy. I'd highly recommend his new show Resident Alien (it's in the 2nd season right now on a mid-season break in fact) he is just hysterical in it. As for T&DvE it is such a good satire of horror tropes and related things like that. Would have loved a sequel or some sort of continuation - but that's really unlikely at this point sadly.
I think you guys missed some great details about the villain, chad. When you look back at all the details, you realize that Chad is the “evil” Tucker and Dale face. It’s not just a fun movie title, it’s literal. 1. Chad is the one to suggest the trip. 2. Chad is the one that first confronts Dale and threatens him with fighting gestures at the gas station. 3. Chad is the one that tells all the colleges students about the massacre committed by hillbillies in the very woods their all staying in. (This is what ultimately causes the first misunderstanding on the lake, the kids become terrified thinking it’s happening again like in the scary story) 4. Chad coax’s and manipulates the other college kids into attacking Tucker and Dale. 5. Chad fires several rounds at them. 6. Chad threatens Dales dog 7. Chad hunts down and captures Tucker. 8. Chad says an interesting line, “I’ve never been so close to pure evil before”. It’s implied he’s referring to Tucker but the line could also be interpreted as Chad saying he has never been so close to BEING pure evil himself. 9. It’s Chad who cuts off Tuckers fingers. 10. Chad threatens arson 11. Chad puts an axe to Allison’s throat. 12. Chad, unprovoked attempts to murder them and set the house a blaze. And so on until the end of the film. Point is, I think they actually did an excellent job in thoughtfully making Chad the villain. His actions are subtle at first and you don’t even realize the chaos is ultimately his doing, whether intentional or not. As the film progresses, he can be seen progressively getting more and more violent and unstable. What’s great is when he’s at the point where he’s “never been so close to pure evil before”, that’s when he draws his first blood and takes Tuckers fingers.
Always good to see both Tom and Shaun together in a video! You guys are awesome on camera together. Your genuine friendship really shines. Good film as well, and I’m not normally a goofy horror comedy fan.

Not only is he kind, thoughtful, and respectful of women, he also shows strength, bravery, and cleverness by the end. He also comes through and literally saves her from certain death and fights a crazed lunatic to do so. That’s husband material for sure. Actually, Chad's not dead, he killed the film crew when they went back at night to film the crime scene. So, they could do a direct sequel at some point, with either Chad returning to take his revenge on Tucker, Dale and Allison, or have them stumble upon Chads encampment, or another group of college kids are getting attacked by Chad and they find Tucker and Dale's cabin and take refuge with them.
There was originally a plan to do a Tucker and Dale Vs series of films kinda akin to the idea of the Abbott and Castello Meets movies series but it got dropped sadly.

Regarding "How does the phone not work?" That's a daily struggle here in the mountains of north Georgia. Great place to live, but so many "dead" zones.
There were two reedited versions in a DVD rental that portrayed Tucker and Dale as the actual killers. The other portraying the college kids as the killers. Good stuff.

This film absolutely caught me by surprise as i don’t enjoy most comedy horrors (they tend to not get one of the elements right to balance the film) but I absolutely love this film
Well this kinda came at the end of the comedy/horror boom of the 00's. Some others to check out would be: Behind the Mask: the Rise of Leslie Vernon Jack Brooks: Monster Hunter Dance of the Dead Bubba Ho-Tep Fido Slither Feast Dead Snow Undead Dead & Breakfast Otis Supposedly both actors have said that they would like to do another Tucker and Dale movie if asked, but unfortunately nothing has happened yet. For a really entertaining, intense and somewhat lesser known horror film I really recommend the Australian film 'The Loved Ones' (2009) - it's... not a comedy. But i think you guys would really enjoy it, especially since you're already familiar with some of the big horror classics you've already done.
Love this movie, it’s ridiculous fun. You guys should review the Autopsy of Jane Doe. It’s a solid, good new horror movie with somewhat simple yet still a different type of horror movie
Man, if you thought Tucker and Dale vs Evil, you gotta check out the Scary movie franchise. Originally the 1st Scary movie was supposed to be Titled ‘Scary Movie’ but for some reason, they changed it to ‘Scream’. Definitely worth checking out ‘Scary Movie(s)’ and their mash up of different horrors. You won’t regret it.
I think you guys should check out ‘The Fly 2’ with Eric Stoltz, the decent and underrated sequel to the the 1986 film featuring Jeff Goldblum, also the terrifying vampire movie ’30 Days of Night’ featuring Josh Hartnett and the scary ghost movie ‘We Are Still Here’ all well crafted and all great in their own ways.
My initial reaction to the 6.8 rating is "It's better than that!" ...but you make good points. The second act is absolute brilliance, but the third act is nowhere near as strong. I think you guys missed that Tucker dominates Dale and, while a good friend, is not the best mentor -- he's keeping Dale stagnant. The love interest (forget her name) helps him assert himself, and that's why Tucker has to vanish for the third act, so Dale can complete his character arc and stop being Tucker's shadow. That said, it's just not as fun and is a little rom-comy. I've seen this movie three or four times, and I definitely tune out in the third act. So sure, 6.8, with a caveat that Act II is a 8.5, Act III is a 5.
I feel like you are always trying to find some weird nitpicks in great movies. This movie is like loads better than a 6,8. And the romantic angle is not only cute, but also integral to Dale's character development. He is meant to learn that he is better than he thinks he is, and that a cute girl like Alison can like a guy like him. Love it.
Brilliant little movie, playing with all those "crazy redneck killer" cliches that everybody knows from their hearts by now from stuff like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wrong Turn, Hills Have Eyes... It's, I assume, relatively easy to take a trope and use it to play with the audience's expectations, but this one does it quite clever altogether. And Tucker and Dale seem to be two really likeable blokes and it's really easy to root for them from the get go.
My top horror films I want you watch, seriously I wouldn't rec them to any other reactors I watch as they couldn't handle them. They are 1) Martyrs (2008), 2) Frontier(s) (2007), 3) The Divide (2011), 4) Haute Tension (aka Switchblade Romance) (2003), 5) Ils (aka Them) (2006) and 6) Inside (2007).
I don´t know how to describe it, but some of those actor´s just have something funny about their faces. They´re just funny to watch. Will Forte would be another one of those that comes to my mind....
I hope you guys have plans to watch “Little Evil” after this. It’s by the same director, and it’s another great parody. This time of ”The Omen” and similar Antichrist films.
I freakin love this movie...Alan Tudyk (Wash) is one of my favorites Tyler Labine is always an adorable doofus. Plus you guys now have your Halloween costumes 😁

And the romantic angle is not only cute, but also integral to Dale's character development. He is meant to learn that he is better than he thinks he is, and that a cute girl like Alison can like a guy like him. Love it.
Dale is adorable.
I’ve checked out a lot of ladies reacting to this film. All of them end up really charmed by Dale. He’s a great character.
Great movie. It has the perfect blend of comedy and horror that you just can't find anywhere else.
Even tho the twist was kitschy, it totally worked. Hehe. Love seeing Tom again! I hope baby and wife are well. 💙
Do phones work in UK forests? Reception doesn’t exist in those parts of the states.
This is one of my favorite hidden gems of a movie.
Love this film still hoping for the sequel hear rumblings about it every now n then
My top horror films I want you watch, seriously I wouldn't rec them to any other reactors I watch as they couldn't handle them. They are 1) Martyrs (2008), 2) Frontier(s) (2007), 3) The Divide (2011), 4) Haute Tension (aka Switchblade Romance) (2003), 5) Ils (aka Them) (2006) and 6) Inside (2007).
"The Medusa Touch" ( starring Richard Burton )
The best thing Tyler Labine’s ever done.
I don´t know how to describe it, but some of those actor´s just have something funny about their faces. They´re just funny to watch.
Will Forte would be another one of those that comes to my mind....
A really good show with Alan Tudyk is Resident Alien. Has great 3rd Rock From The Sun vibes
I hope you guys have plans to watch “Little Evil” after this. It’s by the same director, and it’s another great parody. This time of ”The Omen” and similar Antichrist films.
Tom seems to be recovering well from his pregnancy, good to see.
I freakin love this movie...Alan Tudyk (Wash) is one of my favorites Tyler Labine is always an adorable doofus. Plus you guys now have your Halloween costumes 😁
Y'all should do Wrong Turn. Three of them are gold. One, two, and seven. It's like the modern Texas Chainsaw or Hills Have Eyes.
Nice to see you two together in a video again!
