Jason is just Tucker and Dale's friend who they have known since they found him trying to run away from a summer camp. Michael escaped his insane psychologist and just wants to sleep in a real bed for once.

I love the expression on that bee kids face as he looks confused why the hillbilly is running past him, then spends the last few moments he has realising he wasn't being chased by a psycho with a chainsaw. He was in the path of a guy being chased by bees.

Sasha Craig is married to Eli Craig, who is not only the film's director but also cameoed as the cameraman who accompanied the Journalist. Eli Craig is also Sally Feild's son.
I think it's perfectly believable that Allie stayed with Dale playing games in the cabin. She's injured and neither party knew where the others were, so reasonably Tucker and Dale would go find them to retrieve her and she could recover with the endearing hillbilly with the same interests as her. Who's also a lot nicer to her than the other kids were.
I live in the south and I have to say there are people who look like tucker and dale but 99% percent of the time they’re very nice and humble people who are very helpful.
I hate the stereotypes you guys get slammed with. I've had friends from the south and they're the nicest of people. Love the accent too!! Much love from this Brit 🇬🇧🤜🏻🤛🏻🇺🇸
Actually her staying is also a survival instinct. Especially with her being a psychology major. So it actually makes sense for her to stay around and comply to keep her "captors" happy so she doesn't get murdered.
Fun fact: there’s an edit of the film on the DVD where it’s just from the perspective of the college students, without most of Tucker and Dale’s scenes. However, the director didn’t like it because it felt too much like the horror films they were lampooning.
Man, seeing this makes me wish we had a Tucker and Dale chapter in DbD. Imagine if the two of them were survivors and Chad as the killer (maybe a reskinned Hillbilly)
Like the other comments, I figure the two were in a relationship, and his mom convinced herself she was pregnant from her boyfriend and not the attack, or at least would have told Chad that version so he wouldn't know he's a product of rape. OR to add to Chad being so unforgiving and judgemental- maybe he did know he was a product of rape, and that guilt boiled into his prejudice. I dunno, just an extra layer
Ironically, Chad was right about them being cut from different cloth; Allison is a farm girl in comparison to the other city-born students and he's half hilly-billy.
Honestly, I don't like the idea that Chad was destined to be a killer cause his dads a killer, same reason I don't like Freddy Krugger's backstory, your not defined by your bloodline, a rapist child won't be a rapist themselves ya know. Just always feels off to me, maybe I'm missing how its a subversion or intential to poke fun but idk, still kinda sketch.
@@nobodybroda3826 @Nobody Broda Is that what the movie is really saying, though? Chad believes that hillbillies are evil, probably after being fed that since childhood by his mother, and his hate-obsession is what lead to his actions. The script probably didn't think too hard about exactly what it was saying, but I don't think that's it.
@@SpoonyBard88 You're right, but it probably could've worked better if, say, they kept the backstory about Chad's father being killed, but then made it so he was still a hillbilly, and maybe the reason for the murders taking place was because the rest of his family thought he'd betrayed them by dating an outsider or something. It'd keep the whole "became what he hated" angle, without implying being a murderer's kid will make you a murderer, and it'd be a nice parallel to Chad's whole us-vs-them thing, as well as Dale's relationship with Alison. Also, could work in a subtle Stretch/Leatherface reference (although hopefully their relationship wouldn't have been, y'know, Like That) for bonus points!
@@nobodybroda3826 well actually it is half genetic, killers are both born and made, serial killers were found to basically have an issue in their brain that reacts weirdly to heavy trauma or sadness. When it gets triggered it then constantly activates in the same format. This kind of thing is also seen in suicides and spree killers. One famous spree killer came into a house to rob a few things and leave, he tied up two young women and while he was picking through their things, another girl came in, so he grabbed her and tied her up, then another so he knocked her out, next one... each type he reacted worse until he was just chopping at them.... Something about most people react to confusion by running away but his response was a fight response. not necessarily every child of someone will inherit the "trouble gene" but it just points out that as a society we need to treat people better in general. none of these "trouble genes" activate alone, pretty much every single serial killer has some sort of trauma as a child due to that being how it's activated. BTW in nature versus nurture both sides are idiots, it is clearly both. For example no matter how much you love colors and identifying them, if you weren't born hypersensitive to color it's not going to be one of your strengths. talent doesn't define you but focusing on your talents is probably a good idea.
As someone from Calgary it’s great to see a movie filmed in the woods that i myself have explored so many times before, and to see that it’s an actually good movie? That’s awesome.
But nah, he's probably just more focused on his work. Throughout the whole movie, he always seemed concerned about the vacation home and working. Like when he yelled at Dale for playing board games with Allison instead of helping him saw wood. Even after seeing the dead college kids, he kept working lmao
Well, on the bright side, maybe he’ll get some good insurance money from it! He can fix it up really nice so he and Dale and Alyson can have some actual fun vacations there (or maybe not at a place where lots of people died)
This Movie is so good. I really love the accidents and how Tucker & Dale are just innocent and confused 90% of the Movie. Togheter with Cabin in the Woods this Movie completes my favourite Horror Comedy/Parody combo.
Pretty much, examine the situations and environment around you, things may not be as they seem, except the things you don’t expect are actually good things this time around
this movie is a cult classic and made allot of money when it came out for an indie film. hardly underrated. ive seen it like ten time at different peoples houses
allison was so nice to tucker and dale, she even try to sort things out :( yet chad and her friends misunderstood them - but i’m so happy that they got a happy ending ,,, i think at that moment, allison and dale have some chemistry 🥹💞
Makes me sad we couldn’t have more “Tucker & Dale” movies, they seemed like the perfect kind of characters where you could just drop them into any situation. From what I’ve heard/ read, the writers just couldn’t really hit that lightning in a bottle again
kinda like how, if Season of The witch worked, Halloween could have become an anthology of horror movies a la twilight zone, with each horror movie taking place at halloween as the common demoninator.
I quote this movie daily. It was actually the first “horror” movie that I’ve ever seen. My brother turned it on for us to watch one day after school and I fell in love with it.

This along with Cabin in the Woods, is my favorite horror flick on the fact that it deconstructs/mocks the horror movie industry. It's a perfect blend of comedy and horror mixed into it.
I suck at sensing foreshadowing. Bro said “make sure that doesn’t hit cops in the head” I thought he was joking. 10 min later WHAM. The first jumps scare to catch me and it got foreshadowed. Edit: I also just realized that when tucker hides behind the log it symbolizes the girl that did the same thing, hinting the resemblance by father and son both punching the hiding person. Absolutely love this movie. While helping on a small film in Calgary we were using a lower body half and I could swear I recognized it. Asked our effects guy about it, turns out he had also done practicals for Tucker and Dale.
I remember randomly seeing this movie and being curious what exactly it was. Little did I know I stumbled upon a movie that I’d love so much and watch at least three times a year
Battle Droid well he wasn’t a antagonist either as apart from Allison, he was the only college kid who believed that tucker and dale weren’t killers and were only helping Allison, but that’s just my opinion
I credit that watching that show as a child to why I am both terrified and comfortable with death. Like I don't want to bleed out due to corn starch injections because that sounds painful, but if I get painlessly shot in the head I'm cool.
@@wizzem7890 That show is also why I still open the mailbox from the side because there was an episode where someone opened a mailbox and a spider was in there and it killed them.
Dude the fact that James changes his costume every episode or changes his moustache or something like that shows he cares and wants to give the best experience to the viewers. I believe that all of these types of things to help entice the viewer is the reason why he was able to acquire such a large following in such a short time (From what I saw he started in 2017) I also love how much this guy has change from just counting kills, to doing behind the scenes, to even including the interviews between him and the actors. I did watch this before this kill count came out. I saw it with my 2 aunts, niece, nephew, and cousin. We had fun and it instantly became one of my horror movies of all time.

This was one of the most funny and awesome movvies ever, and it's so unpredictable. I expected it to be funny but stupid like Scary Story, but boy was i happy I was wrong.
I watched this one years ago, I think 4 or 5 years. I've wanted to see James cover this one as it keeps popping up in my head from time to time. Tbh, a rather funny movie with plenty of gore which me back then almost felt sick from... now I love gore!
I swear the most funniest underrated movie lol Seriously this a good ass movie Dale: We have an unconscious women with us cause tuck knocked her in the side of a head with a shovel Tuck: that's not what happened Cop: Where is she ? Dale: She's in our bedroom currently on Netflix 😂
This is genuinely one of my favorite movies ever! You don’t expect these characters to make you question your internalized ideas about people from different backgrounds. I honestly identify with Allie so much because I understand how she felt threatened at first. Her kindness and understanding of perspective along with Dale’s gentle nature really make this movie sweet, alongside all of the fun humor!
James: *Thinks it’s unrealistic for her to stay in their cabin the whole day* Also James: *Watches the whole movie of these kids unrealistically killing themselves because of a misunderstanding*
You say unrealistically but their are some extremly dumb people who have died from these types of instances. The not watching where you are going scene, the accidentally shoot themselves people and those who died from falling into a machine such as a wood chipper. Seriously go look up stupid deaths.

I think it's perfectly believable that Allie stayed with Dale playing games in the cabin. My dad made me watch it its so funny
@@SpoonyBard88 Honestly I felt unsure about my take, if I'm blowing steam then I accept it and ya bring up a good point, he became what he hated.
