This is the biggest “they had us in the first half, not gonna lie” film ever
Oh yeah
I have a sneaking suspicion that @altF4 and @toxic gamer are the same person -_-
Brought 55 yeah
oh yeah yeah oh yeah yeah
Brought 55 why would you say that
Watching a grown man yell fuck you to a group of school children for saving their own lives cracks me up every time. Hahaha.
😂😂😂😂
Not exactly saving their lives, even if they survived their death was inevitable because of the ancient ones.
Heck, young school girls beating a menacing ghost girl is funny, period.^^
I died at that part 🤣
15:15 time stamp if anyone wants it
I love the cheering of the little girls when they turn the spirit into a frog, it's so genuinely wholesome
it was beautiful wasn't it
That was just world peace at it’s peak
They're from Japan so they believe in ancient Japanese spirits to protect them.
Yall sum pedos 💀
I’m saw it the most adorable part of the film
I love how this movie has few kills for the most part, but goes pure genocide in the last bit.
They went the Another approach: Drip out the deaths and then go full slaughterhouse
"Someone's severed pelvic bone being held like a trophy by two goblins in a golf cart" is probably the most wild sentence I have EVER heard in my entire life.
i watched this movie 2 nights ago, then this video released just on time WOW
“Bring out your head, bring out your head.”

I’d just like to point out that James wasn’t the only who thought Dana and Marty were siblings. I was legitimately surprised when he corrected himself and said that they were just friends.
Honestly, I thought Dana and Curt were siblings, until the jump scene where she kisses him for luck.
I made the same mistake when I first saw this movie. Assuming Dana and Marty were siblings. Idk if it’s on us for assuming too much, or it’s on the movie for not clearly explaining their relationship. I haven’t seen it in awhile but I recall the scene when Marty is introduced kind of giving the impression that they are siblings. That’s the tone it sets……. Also got the 69th like on this comment, nice! Lol
See I never got that vibe. He just seemed like a goofy stoner friend. Granted movies have kinda broke me into never assuming relationships between characters unless completely, explicitly stating it. They have a similar appearance, hair color, etc. So that might be why people assumed that.
@@joshzickus8394 Personally I thought Marty and Dana were going to make love together so so weird others thought they were siblings, i thought Marty and Curt were brothers.
@@Adam-g01see I'm with you and thought that too, about Marty and Curt
I know it was a mistake, but I do love that Marty and Dana are called siblings here. Looking back on the movie, they do have that “brother and sister” bond going on.

this was my first horror movie. i was nine at the time. i made it through the whole movie until i watched the unicorn kill (27:42 in video). i flipped and i got rid of everything i had with a unicorn and was scared of them for a year or two. absolutely ruined me
Lmao that's awesome

Meanwhile my first horror movie was the first Saw 😂
@@C_D_Productionshow did that happen?
The unicorn kill was always a weird kill idea to me before this film. I was happy this movie brought it to life.
This is hands-down my favorite horror movie of all time. It’s not that it’s scary, it’s just that it’s witty, funny, sardonic, and a commentary. Plus, the effects are so funny. I absolutely love the scene where they show the administration department when all hell is breaking loose. It’s such a bureaucratic, regular corporate office mixed in with the craziest horror characters and clichés the world has ever seen. Including the merman LMAO
I like how the monsters are not attacking each other and seem to understand that they were all captured there and get their revenge
If the info is right are they a relict of the ancient ones (was mentioned in the wiki).
So it makes sense since they all have the same "parents"
Kinda makes me wonder tho. Films like Freddy V. Jason, have two monsters in conflict. Maybe they can be regenerated in the lab and when they fight it’s a sort of sibling quarrel. Tho it doesn’t apply in the lab because there, they all understand they are prisoners.
@@thegrandxbunny2073 They engenier the figths basiclly

That moment when the elevator dings and all those things fly out is horror movie gold.
James: “I don’t count it unless we see the person die.”
Also James: “This security guard crawling is as good as dead.”

Well Tbh it makes sense for him to count that guard. That guard looks like He's fresh Kill-count Steak on a grill. Hes done for😭😂😂
The elevator scene is genuinely my favorite moment from all of the movie media I've ever watched.
The true, unbridled chaos of dozens of different, entirely unrelated creatures bursting out from the doors to just massacre everything around them was a real sight to behold.
I remember thinking back when I saw it for the first time that this is the closest thing to an SCP movie that we've ever gotten, and as an early teen that was obsessed with SCP at the time, I was fuckin' ecstatic.
I still love SCP and always will, and that part was just PURE magic for me essentially. It was just so goddamn cool.
34:47 I love how happy James sounds when talking about Unicorn death.
The concept for this movie is so scary to me. The movie itself doesnt scare me, but the idea that if some secret organization fails its job then were all fucked.
There are secret organizations fucking things up all the time.
That’s why I love the SCP universe so much
@@LadyViscera A man of culture I see.

Honestly this movie is the closest that we’re gonna get to a monster cinematic universe.
What about crypt tv?
Its actually all Joss’ multiverse. This world is in the same multiverse as the MCU and Buffy. Buffy’s comics really go hard explaining Joss’ multiverse.
So an MCU??

@@inertian4723 crypt TV is a RUclips channel with multiple horror shorts, it's a strong suggestion that you watch it if you can handle gore and things like that
14:20 I love seeing the BTS in the kill count, just the random yet fitting scenes where their getting into character, some parts can be wholesome like the actor is asking if their Ok, or just goofy moments like this
I love the fact that it seems all the monsters are working together to kill all the scientists, soldiers, and victims, like how one monster throws a guy into the snake's mouth or how the Werewolf, Clown, and Unicorn teamed up to take down those people.
I love the idea that this is the crux of every horror movie. The image of Freddy, Jason and Ghostface eating snacks backstage is hilarious to me.
But all of them couldn't exist because of the way the sacrifices work
Oh shit never mind im stupid I never knew every team had to fail
The only time the USA failed before was the year the Faculty came out, when the sacrifices lived

Best line in all of the Dead Meat Universe
It's called a one-way mirror, because only one way is it a mirror, and the other way is not a mirror.
It's called a two-way mirror, because one way it is a mirror, but the second way it's a looking glass, so it's a mirror that has two ways you can look at it.
Even more confusingly, looking glass is a synonym for both mirror and window, depending on whether you mean a glass you can look *through* , or a glass you can look *at* (to see your reflection.)

“Don’t y’all remember that bird?”
I honestly wish I didn’t. Imagine the shock of that reveal if they didn’t show it.
I know right
That is probably the biggest misstep of this film.
Inertian I actually really like the decision to show the bird first, even if others don’t. During the entire speech and hopeful score you KNOW what’s gonna happen, so it’s this incredibly uncomfortable feeling that you know they’re gonna fail and all this heroic sentiment is gonna be wasted that really sells it for me. If we weren’t warned before it would’ve been a funny “gotcha” moment that makes sense, but knowing they’re gonna fail creates a really interesting atmosphere of awkwardness and “bruh” moment that I really like
It would have been pretty neat if it was in the distant-ish background of the shot, so that you'd have to be paying close attention to a random background element to notice that bit of foreshadowing.
I'm still not over the bird scene

It's not hard to see why he doesn't care about the billions of people he doesn't know, it's honestly more realistic that he doesn't sacrifice himself. Too much media portray their characters as selfless heroes who will do the right thing in the face of situations like this, but the most human thing to do in this situation is denial. No one wants to believe that they have to die, so when the choice to save the world is to die it only makes sense that the one who's life is on the line doesn't believe the director and refuses to play along, but Dana does consider the idea for a moment until basically being put on her deathbed from a werewolf. TL;DR Marty is a really realistic and fleshed out character, and it makes sense he doesn't sacrifice himself because when put on the spot in a situation like this, after the absolutely insane day he had, almost no person would.

@@Bopittwist In the movie they explain it that he's switched his drug stash around, so he was a lot less affected than the rest.
This is the rated R version of scooby-doo. Change my mind.

By me
I JUST watched this movie for the first time and for some reason “What a friend we have in Shinto” was such a hilarious line to me lmao
I like how the protagonists literally chose to let the apocalypse and the end of humanity happen to keep their friends alive to die anyway. Like seriously just kill one person to save billions of people should seem like a no brained, especially if said person wasn’t a great person
I think the point was that if this (the torture and suffering of relatively innocent young people) was what it took to keep the world alive, maybe the world needed to die. That’s what I got from what Marty said anyways.
Are the ‘Ancient Ones’ is just a metaphor for the audience who will literally rip a movie maker’s ass apart if the movie sucks or never made?
yup
I believe the film is based on a Lovecraftian story, and the 'Ancient Ones' are a breed(?) of cosmic creatures.
it’s referencing that, but ultimately is showing, that if a story or it’s characters are not satisfying to an audience, then they trash on and destroy a movie
I believe that Robot Chicken made a skit based on the idea of the 'ancient ones' being a metaphor for the audience. The skit had the ancient one be a viewer of Robot Chicken and that the selected monster was a Zombie Joss Whedon. Just like the movie, they fail in the end and (in the case of the skit) end up getting their show cancelled. I can't find the skit on RUclips but it's pretty good.
Yeah.
The fact that a grown man just went “Fuck you” to a bunch of kids is too funny to me! 😂😂 also, if James counted the entire earth, this would always be the top kill count
@Orange Crush no. its superhero action. if you're gonna class infinity war, the superhero action movie as a horror then you need to rethink some things. just because a movie has a concept in it that MIGHT be considered horror doesn't mean its a horror film, because by that logic every movie that has somebody dying in it can be argued as horror when it's clearly not.
@Orange Crush nah bro idc about all that history shit u just said, a movie with superheroes and action evidently made for kids to teens is not horror, ur practically putting avengers in the same circle as something like hostel and big franchises with Friday and nightmare. Avengers isn't horror ok it's just not and it's not subjective u cannot in any way shape or form call avengers a horror film that's stupid asf and you must've been smoking summin hard to think that
@Orange Crush a horror film is defined as a film that invokes the elements, feelings and rules of horror, the feelings being shock, terror, fear and disgust. If you think u can feel all of those from fucking AVENGERS then I suggest u get urself checked since ur obviously delirious.
@Orange Crush I am not numb, I'm just annoyed that ur trying to put avengers in the same category as horror films like anything covered on the kill count. Avengers is not a horror end of story. It just isn't idc about how you see it, ur seeing it wrong. You cannot put avengers in the same circle as things like scream, Halloween, texas chainsaw, Friday, nightmare, saw and countless more that I could list. Avengers is straight up not a horror film just because it contains aspects of things that possibly are "horrific" doesn't mean it's a horror movie. Case dismissed.

I guess technically that organisation could have been behind every single horror movie
Honestly it would make more sense if they were siblings. I have no idea how he fits into the group of friends who look like they walked out of an Abercrombie ad.
It's not about how he fits in with the group but his role as a horror archetype.
I still think the japanese students are the real protagonists here

This is a great film which had a lot of positives. Very clever writing and plot, good cast including a-list stars, surprising and pleasing plot twists, lots of humor, and good special effects. My favorite part is getting to see all of the monsters that were shown on the white board in action later turned against their sadistic captors.
This particular Kill Count is definitely one of my comfort watches and whenever James refers to Dana and Marty as "siblings", I absolutely lose it 😂😂😂
The fact the KKK are considered monsters in this movie is amazing and awful at the same time lmao
Zen Williams They kinda are when you think about it...
K i m c h ii P e a c h they definitely are
Considering how apparently all the monsters come from the "old world", those must be some very old klansmen
I think that their world-view is old enough to qualify
Zen Williams calling them monsters is a understatement
Fun fact: the actor for Marty the stoner was actually as ripped as Chris Hemsworth in this movie, so in order for them to hide his physique they actually had to have him double shirts and that long sleeve
MichaelJ darn, I would’ve loved to see that.
I always noticed that when he swings his bong at the Buckner guy on the dock haha
Would of loved to see his abs, I'm gay ok

This is one of my all time favorite movies as it reminds me heavily of the old school Evil Dead series. It also explains so much of the Horror Genre as a whole. Its a pretty fun movie to watch.
I love the Truman show reference with Daniel's last name because it's just like it but with blood and killing and monsters...lots of monsters
me- "Oh man, this kill count is about to set an unbeatable record."
