Watching this, you two actually laughed harder then I've seen you laugh at most of your funny movie reactions but it was easy to tell that there were times you wanted to but were afraid to. But I understand why people today feel that they can't laugh at things in these movies because everyone is now so afraid of how they will be looked at if they do. The world just took itself a lot less serious back then regardless of whether you think it's right or wrong. By the way you completely missed a great deal of the movie because CANDYMAN wasn't part of the parody. There were quite a few scenes that referenced I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, that you guys obviously haven't watched, which surprises me as it was one of the big ones back during the big iconic slasher film.

Love the channel guys, keep it up! I've written this before, but could you possibly turn the film audio up and your own microphones down so they're more even? Your reactions (screams, laughs) are great, but the sound is really High-Low throughout and I'm constantly adjusting the volume. There's a "normalize" effect on all audio software that would do this in a few clicks. I realize you may have to keep the film audios low-volume to avoid copyright strikes or something, but I'd like the channel even more if you guys managed to do this. Anyway, cheers! Your reactions are great fun. :)
This thing with the audio started recently. I don't know if they're doing it on purpose but it's like the audio on a smart tv when watching an action movie.🤔
Agreed. Literally just a few decibels. Bring the mics down like 2-3db and the movie audio up 2-3db. If I want to catch the jokes they are blowing my ears out.
Not all the jokes worked back in 2000 when I first saw this, but, that being said, the damn thing STILL cracks me up which is probably why I STILL watch it from time to time! LOL
This is my favorite of the scary movie franchise cause it’s mainly portraying scream and it’s just absolutely hilarious and ridiculous. My favorite sequence is definitely Cindy meeting bootleg ghostface but my second one is every time Brenda is on screen but mainly the theatre scream 2 reference😂
Great reaction, these two actually took the time to see the source material in order to get the references instead of watching it at random and let them pass over their heads. Great work!

That's someone else's problem if they are offended with your reaction, I defo wouldn't appease to them. Your laughs are contagious😆👍🏼
Greg was a favorite character in this because there’s always that overreacting hyper masculine dude in teen horrors. Hahaha. I loved how dramatically he reacted to his Polaroid too 💀
Oh man, this movie still cracks me up every time I watch it. It came out at the perfect time. I love how Scary Movie KNOWS the movies it’s making fun of, therefore the jokes work. The sequels (and every other spoof movie after) really fell flat.
You guys would also love the 2nd and 3rd Scary Movies. After that they went downhill honestly. The Wayans brothers are hilarious. Major Payne is another great movie with a Wayans Brother as is White Chicks.
Been hoping you would react to this. It's the best of the 4 in my opinion and a good laugh all-round. Also, love the actress playing Cindy. Shes the highlight of the movies for me :)
I still laugh at this movie. Doofus is so dam hilarious and girl who plays Cindy, Anna Harris, has some of the best comedic timing ever. It's honestly still one of the funniest movies ever. And stop worrying about what people think. Just laugh. And yes the jokes worked when it came out. MY ASS! Also, you guys were laughing alot more than you realized I think. Or don't want to admit it. This movie is an easy 9. And don't compare it to vampire sucks etc. They're terrible. I don't believe your rating bro. Seriously don't be afraid to laugh. Nothing is going to happen to you.
Anna Faris. I agree with what you said though. Why are they afraid to admit to loving non-pc humour? It's amongst the funniest kind, that and sick jokes in general.
Shaun & Tom: "I dunno, the comedy might be a bit too childish for us" Also Shaun & Tom: HAHAHAhahahaHAHaAHahaHaHa PS was surprised by the low score... you guys seemed like you were enjoying it. I love it... but I saw it when it came out so perhaps I'm watching through the eyes of someone back in 2000. You should sill watch 2 & 3 if you can... as they're pretty good
I feel that the ultimate twist was not that Dewey was the killer. But that he seemed so ugly, dumb, and gross at first only to be revealed in the end he was actually a hot smart stud the entire time. Lol
Like I'm sure many will point out Anna Faris is a criminally underrated actress with a natural comic sensibility. She totally sells this movie and her small part in Lost in Translation was absolutely pitch perfect.
I saw and enjoyed this movie as a kid and I still do to this day. While Scream satirizes horror tropes, it does it while playing it straight, where Scary Movie is full on spoof.
I don't even care if the jokes were "offensive". I found them hilarious even now. It just saddens me that nowadays we have such sensitive cowardly producers that we won't get to see another great comedy like this again.
The reason you 2 are the best reactionists is because you appear ordinary chaps you might see down tut pub. Don't ruin it by being Woke, but that doesn't mean you have to get a Strike from RUclips if you get me. I'm about halfway through your videos, dead excited to see what else you've watched
16:50 Ohhh areeee we sensitiveeeee nowwww? Come onnnn... I'm gay, I loved the jokes. This is one of my all time favorite spoof movies (Favorite is probably Naked Gun or Hot Shots). The hit and run scene, the hook reference/ note and the prom scene are all from I Know What You Did Last Summer. Stupid rating.
This movie is a combination of two horror movies. Obviously Scream and I know What you did Last Summer. A lot of it parodied those two movies. They also threw in some other horror and non horror movies as well. Scream 2 and Scream 3 were parodied as well. In the after credits, a scene of Shorty pops up where he gives instructions on how to survive a horror movie. The scene of Ghostface outside by the tree was from Halloween when laurie is at school and looks out the window and sees Michael standing across the street. She looks away and looks back and he's gone. The hook is from I know what you did last Summer, it's the killer's weapon. There were actually only 4 writers on this movie. The Wayan's brothers mostly wrote what the story was about and mostly their scenes. Almost all the rest of the other scenes were written by two other writers. The two additional writers had nothing to with with Scary movie. But because they had already written a spoof of Scream prior to Scary Movie, the Writers Guild of America forced the studio to include them. The Wayans also did part 2. After that the movies were taken away from them.
I love hearing you guys go back and forth on a film, waxing poetic. I so wish I was able to just hang out and talk about a film you guys just watched and "chew the fat", if you will, with you. You guys bring up fun and salient points and can grasp the possible further philosophical implications of a film and/or just a appreciate a films goofiness and hamfisted execution of said film.

I’m confused on the rating. Y’all laughed throughout the movie and they aren’t referencing Candyman they are referencing the fisherman from I Know What You Did Last Summer
Feel like you're missing the actors here too - the opening is Carmen Electra who was a pretty big deal at the time after building a big sex appeal celebrity status from Baywatch. Easily the best parody movie since the Naked Gun series. Kicked off a series of '..... Movie' parodies which got progressively worse.
The hook and throwing the body they hit with the car is from I Know What You Did Last Summer. Which you guys should watch. As definitely need to watch The Monster Squad
The stereotype jokes were funny. You just need to be like willing to take it in the good nature it’s intended. Everyone found Scary Movie hilarious at the time (regardless of their background). Audiences now are trained to perceive everything in its worst possible light. Scary Movie is funny because it’s outrageous and ridiculous. The references in the film are mostly taken from Scream (obviously) and I Know What You Did Last Summer. I would say though, to my mind, this is pretty much the single good parody film in this of this style.
They don't NEED to be or do anything. People are so weird about movies now. The reason this movie works is because people are free to think what they want. Entertainment is becoming so mainstream and hive mind like it's like nazis
@@Gnossiene369 bro, no need for the internet outrage. Pretty sure we all know they don’t ‘need’ to take the humour in a good natured way. I think we all understand that it’s just a turn of phrase. 5/10 you are the reason comedies come out so infrequently, you laughed multiple times... many comedy movies with a higher rating don't get a single laugh out of me,
The “WASSSUUUPPP” thing is not from this. This is referencing the Budweiser/Bud Light commercials from the 90s that featured people calling eachother and repeating that over the phone to eachother. They were really funny.
The reason why there were so many writers was because the studio bought two screenplays by two separate teams both were parodying Scream, I know what you did last summer etc. and combined them to make the script the filmed.
You cut two of the best jokes out man. "She is as fake as press-on nails.....HEEEEY BABY GIRL!" and "Kitty, you scared me!.....Horsey, you scared me too"
The low score doesn't make much sense. The movie makes you laugh which is more than you can say for 99% of comedies. It's filmed well, good actors, good pacing. It's comparable to Airplane, maybe less jokes land but it's up there. The ratings for the first four movies for me would probably go 9, 8, 7, 6
I laughed when Ghostface did the Friday the 13th noise and I said, "I wonder if the guy on the left knows where that's from." Then I noticed he's wearing a Friday the 13th t-shirt. Lol
Saw it in theaters in 2000. Like someone already said you must almost had to watch it back then and been there to really appreciate it to the fullest. It was a part of the pop culture back then
While I do like most of this movie, I think Scary Movie 2 is the best out of the entire series. Especially since it takes from more film references while I always felt like this first one was based too much off the Scream and IKWYDLS films.
Great reaction guys! I can’t wait for y’all to do scary movie two. It’s got a different genre of horror films. After number to the series really drops off.

I don't think this movie has a mean-spirited bone in its body, I just take everything with good humor at how over-the-top it is (also gay here, and those jokes don't bother me). I think you guys should at least watch the second one, which riffs on films like The Haunting and The Haunting of Hill House. I think it's just as funny as the first one. I know you were expecting more horror-central humor, and all of the Scary Movie films do riff on other films in the genre, like Saw, The Grudge, Signs, etc., but only as starting off points to pile on rapid-fire jokes and sight gags.
@@austinnickell2561 what's the matter "feminine odor itching got you down?". Lol. The joke is a man is impersonating a woman to get close to the girls. It's parodying films like Just one of the Girls and Private School. Nothing to do with trans people just like Mrs Doubtfire bus scene

Yeah, I agree. I think they were afraid to admit that they liked it more because they probably thought they'd get some type of negative backlash or cancelled.
Yeah i think they wanted to make sure they werent seen as finding those jokes funny, but these jokes are funny, and when watching a movie like this its definitely okay to laugh at it
Yeah i think they wanted to make sure they werent seen as finding those jokes funny, but these jokes are funny, and when watching a movie like this its definitely okay to laugh at it
Love the channel guys, keep it up!
@@sixtiesfreak4858 Nah, it comes and goes, but it's been a problem for a long time.
Number 2 is still pretty damn funny
@@stuntcock8921 yeah it’s still funny but I don’t find it as funny as the original.
The phrase "Bootleg Ghostface" has such an energy to it and I can't...
Not Another Teen Movie is another parody that's absolutely hilarious.
I went and saw this at the movies, also Scary Movie 2. Two of the best theatre experiences I’ve ever had. These movies are classics now!
Great reaction, these two actually took the time to see the source material in order to get the references instead of watching it at random and let them pass over their heads. Great work!
The killer being outside the school window is more a parody of the original "Halloween"
chillin killin. Love this movie! you guys made my day I was cracking up.
Ahhh, this movie takes me back when you could just laugh at jokes.
The “what you waiting for” is from I know what you did last summer… another one you guys should watch
Let’s face it. Shorty’s scenes are the best. My friends and I still do the, “Waz up?!” thing to each other. 🤣
That scene was a parody of the popular budweiser commercial of the time.
Please don't be afraid to laugh at what you find funny... We are in a day an age when every little thing EVERYONE says or does is so harshly and unreasonably judged in this world. Just live and laugh and don't let the bullies tell you what's "allowed"/"offensive", go with your gut. That's someone else's problem if they are offended with your reaction, I defo wouldn't appease to them. Your laughs are contagious😆👍🏼
Greg was a favorite character in this because there’s always that overreacting hyper masculine dude in teen horrors. Hahaha. I loved how dramatically he reacted to his Polaroid too 💀
Love when he asks 'where's the foot?' 😂😂
I was 8 years old when this came out and I still find it hilarious till this day 🤣
Same here 🤣
Haha me too 😂 30 club 😂, it still makes me cry laughing ! Back when people weren’t offended by blinking incorrectly!
Well, I guess I gotta go dust off that bag of Cheetos I was saving for a special occasion. I know what I'm doing tonight, lol
I quite liked 4 but 5 wasn't that good it's a good laugh if you've had a couple drinks though
I agree. 1 2 is the best. 3 was pretty good and I enjoyed 4 a lot but 5 was terrible.
while 3 and 4 are similar in style, 4 is a total fail, while 3 is hilarious
jup
The 2nd is frigging hilarious
Been hoping you would react to this. It's the best of the 4 in my opinion and a good laugh all-round. Also, love the actress playing Cindy. Shes the highlight of the movies for me :)
Theres 5 😭
@@Snackz007 lucky him.
Lol I’ve been waiting for this one man🤣🤣❤️ thanks for watching all the screams and the parody🤧 I literally got so excited🤣🤣💯
This is why there are no more comedies now. People are too sensitive. Everyone laughed when it came out, I was there.
Anna Faris. I agree with what you said though. Why are they afraid to admit to loving non-pc humour? It's amongst the funniest kind, that and sick jokes in general.
@@jonbolton3376 Exactly!
The only parody movie that could rival this one at all would be Not Another Teen Movie. That shit is hilarious, even now.
@@jonbolton3376 They literally said in the video that they laughed if it was funny, but if you're both offensive and unfunny, that's a fail.
Shaun & Tom: "I dunno, the comedy might be a bit too childish for us"
Also Shaun & Tom: HAHAHAhahahaHAHaAHahaHaHa
PS was surprised by the low score... you guys seemed like you were enjoying it. I love it... but I saw it when it came out so perhaps I'm watching through the eyes of someone back in 2000. You should sill watch 2 & 3 if you can... as they're pretty good
Yep
They laughed pretty hard when Doofy farted when Gale tickled him for being so worried about immature jokes. What weirdos.
I feel that the ultimate twist was not that Dewey was the killer. But that he seemed so ugly, dumb, and gross at first only to be revealed in the end he was actually a hot smart stud the entire time. Lol
The ending with Doofy a la The Usual Suspects still cracks me up
Like I'm sure many will point out Anna Faris is a criminally underrated actress with a natural comic sensibility.
“Kenny get the camera ready! Here hold my gum” gold. 😂
Did you notice the name of the High School? It was on the wall when ghost face was mopping the floor. " B. A. Corpse High School"
6:10 this whole time I thought the hook was just a reference to I Know What You Did Last Summer. Candyman makes more sense now!
I wonder if you guys saw I Know What You Did Last Summer? This movie parodied it very well. My review score is 8.5/10 easily.
Your guys' laugh at the weird run was great. Hope you keep watching these. Outrageous and funny.
@ 6:11 that's actually from " I know what you did last summer"
This was so much fun guys!!! Thank you. It was great to hear you two laugh like that!
The "what's up" is actually originally from a Budweiser commercial.
12:15 that laugh man 😂👍
Tom is so cute, even when he mistakenly calls himself Shaun! LOL
Scary Movie 1 (2000) is a Classic Comedy Masterpiece. Scary Movie 2 is my FAVORITE of the bunch. Scary 3 is fine, Scary Movie 4's UNDERRATED, Forget the fifth one.
in your opinion 4 is better than 3 ?
@@rahbeat9785 I never said that
@@rahbeat9785 for me 4 is better than 3 i found 3 kinda boring it’s still funny but I always laugh more in 4 especially the “Hey look Cindy I’m on tv yall check it out Ima give a shout out to all my peeps *bitch slap*. Have you lost your mind NO ONE BITCH SLAPS BRENDA”💀 scary movie 5 is irrelevant.
@@BrandonJames2016 i really didn't like 4, sure i'll laugh here and there. but in 3 i find myself laughing every 30 seconds. it's simply a better comedy, but y'know..different strokes
@@rahbeat9785 like I was rewatching it and the rapper segment part of the movie is so boring not funny. Everything else yes like the ring stuff, the aliens, the psychic beating up the lady in the video, Brenda Vs Samara, the Micheal Jackson scene💀. I’m sure we can agree that scary movie 5 is the worst and isn’t as good as any of the previous movies cause of the new cast. Like there’s occasional funny stuff in 5 but none of it compares to the actresses that play Cindy and Brenda hands down the funniest parts in their movies.
Guys… you’ve literally laughed more during this than I’ve seen in MOST comedy movies you’ve seen.
But the at the end.. y’all like kinda shit on it.
It’s obviously not witty and smart. It’s meant to be dumb asf. And for horror lovers. SO many horror references.
Best reaction 😂😂 you guys made this film funnier 😆
This was heavy on parody of I know What You Did Last Summer, it didn't seem like you guys had seen that one??
Never though that both of you would be dying laughing, I mean Tom"s laugh is really contagious, good reaction
I actually met two of the cast from scary movie, I met the actor who played doofy and the actor who played Greg at a horror convention which was good, and I love all the scary movies trilogy’s there sooo funny
Since the first time I saw this movie back on VHS I've always called the afro comb that shorty wears through out the film a shorty comb 😂
Wow, I thought you already uploaded this film! Is this a re-upload? or was it just my imagination hahaha. Anyway, this is one of the best Parody films ever!
I’m confused on the rating. Y’all laughed throughout the movie and they aren’t referencing Candyman they are referencing the fisherman from I Know What You Did Last Summer
2 and 3 are great as well. I think most are representation for the time and humor.
13:21💀💀💀💀💀💀😂😂😂😂 “Jesus Christ”
Would love to see some more comedy reactions! Really enjoyed watching the spaceballs reaction and I’m sure this one is gonna be good
The stereotype jokes were funny.
I would say though, to my mind, this is pretty much the single good parody film in this of this style.
scary movie 1 and 2 are pretty much the only good ones as horror parodies, 3 has a few good jokes but nothing like the first 2
They don't NEED to be or do anything.
People are entirely free to perceive everything in the worst possible way. No one is suggesting that right be taken away.
@@carronline1 Agreed
This movie always puts me in a good mood.
The funny thing about this movie is that it didn’t just come out the year I was born, but also on my mother’s birthday! 😅😅😅😅😅
5/10 you are the reason comedies come out so infrequently, you laughed multiple times... many comedy movies with a higher rating don't get a single laugh out of me,
"you are the reason comedies come out so infrequently" That's such a wild statement to make, my dude. It's not that serious
If you watch Scary Movie 2 there is an end credit scene with Tori Spelling that is so absolutely bonkers!! I was shocked and laughing so hard I cried.
Great reaction…if you guys are still doing 80’s classic horror, I recommend 2 Jamie Lee Curtis classics…PROM NIGHT & TERROR TRAIN….both equally great.
*The guy who played Dewey actually had a RUclips channel where he acted like the dumb-Dewey.*
4:34 hahaha this joke is so dumb but gets me everytime 🤣
Nice reaction, fun time watching this video.
The ratings for the first four movies for me would probably go 9, 8, 7, 6
So much of I Know What You Did Last Summer is in this movie - not sure if you guys got the references. The hook is from that movie, not just Candyman.
As someone that watched the movie in the cinema when it came out. Yeah all those borderline jokes worked back then haha
They were hilarious
I swear guys, I hear you say Outdated one more time. It’s irreverent, just enjoy the humor of the 90’s and 2000’s and get over it. Love you two.
I laughed when Ghostface did the Friday the 13th noise and I said, "I wonder if the guy on the left knows where that's from." Then I noticed he's wearing a Friday the 13th t-shirt. Lol
The gay jokes with Shawn Wayans have always been my favourite part of this movie.
The original horror trope parody is "Student Bodies" (1981). Seek it out.
Saw it in theaters in 2000. Like someone already said you must almost had to watch it back then and been there to really appreciate it to the fullest. It was a part of the pop culture back then
You said that you didn't like it very well but you laughed every second of it
While I do like most of this movie, I think Scary Movie 2 is the best out of the entire series. Especially since it takes from more film references while I always felt like this first one was based too much off the Scream and IKWYDLS films.
I was 13 when this came out and rented it a few times from my local video shop haha. I still find it funny but it is definately a film of it's time.
Great reaction guys! I can’t wait for y’all to do scary movie two. It’s got a different genre of horror films. After number to the series really drops off.
Loved this mates
Love your horror movie reaction
Have you taken at look at final destination?
You should react to scary movie 2. It’s the best one in the series. 3 and 4 are okay. But I haven’t seen 5, but apparently it sucks so bad. Loving watching your reactions.
If someone gets offended about jokes in a movie that says more about that person personally. People need to lighten up and enjoy shit.
Buffy-OMG , we hit a boot
Greg - WHERE'S THE FOOT?!?
Fun for the first time, maybe the second, then driven into the ground. Great reaction. As always: finish Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy: 2) Prince of Darkness and 3) In the Mouth of Madness.
Same, I’m gay and I love this movie, and I think a lot of lgbt people who loves dark comedy, over-the-top things and specially camp loves this saga 😂
Hey fellow gays. Yeah this movie is absolutely hilarious.
The trans joke hits wrong for me. The joke is just that she's trans.
Yeah I don't understand why people are afraid to even laugh nowadays. Ffs what is happening to people
@@austinnickell2561 what's the matter "feminine odor itching got you down?". Lol. The joke is a man is impersonating a woman to get close to the girls. It's parodying films like Just one of the Girls and Private School. Nothing to do with trans people just like Mrs Doubtfire bus scene
I used to love this movie growing up.
