@@CareerTalk it takes very decent bosses and colleagues to get appreciation for ur hardwork. It's been 28 years in my VFX career and after my hardwork, and aging to 50, they are never ready to shift me into management. These companies only prefer irrelevant, ignorant managers to run their companies, who only survive with politics and promoting favoritism. So this time I shifted to teaching with a very less salary rather than fighting the silly office politics. I have made them crores of rupees completing many reputed projects leading 150 people, but they just dont consider shifting me to management from production. The bosses just need ass lickers

No worries at all.. Promotion in indian IT are obnoxious and abnormal process .. Very few who they thing are multi tasking and can do super human things are only promoted.. Don't focus on promotion.. It is slower than 🐌.. And eventually may get only max 10 percent rise.. Focus on getting expertise on advance levels in your technology.. Switch at right times and look for onsite opportunity..

With 3 yrs of experience.. I don't know if i have to be happy or sad about it but it happened to me and my friend already.. we joined a company through campus placement with 2yr bond.
They made us work on legacy technologies which no experienced person was willing to.. so we were shown this dream that we will be taken into other project after we support the legacy one for 1yr.. believe me 2yrs passed away and we were in the same legacy project. The project manager who made us the promise left silently.. me and my frmd were stuck anyway..
But never the less we kept up skilling and are in a better position now..

This happens quite a lot. At the end of the day, very few bosses really stand up for their direct reports and do what they promised. There is always an excuse for not doing it - you are almost there but not quite there yet, there was a budget situation but it will happen next year, I stood up for you but someone else said no etc etc. All CYA. You need to look out for yourself and not trust anybody too easily in the corporate world.

You need to work sometimes in stealth mode as per boss advice without much advertisement. If you don't, then there are others who will take up the work. You need to trust your boss first than anyone else. If you show rigidness that I will follow the process, document everything, then highly likely it would irk your boss who is looking for result first, and once you earn the trust you can push your thoughts very easily

Stakeholders or boss's boss will not give a damn about your deal. They will evaluate your workarounds though as you have kept them from beginning but chances of your promotion are very less. Hi Shoaib, It depends on a lot of factors. If your current situation is not good then go for it. If it is possible to wait then wait and watch. Also demand, supply with respect to your skills is a key factor.

I know you didn't ask me but Get him sent to foreign universities and then specialisation in cybersecurity over software engineering. Foreign unis in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, UK or Canada are excellent and would actually make your son worthy of his education. I would not recommend US though. btw edu in Germany is quite affordable and accepted worldwide.

Sir idhar simple email communication me managers ko problem hota he.. They don't like documented communication with employees.. As in if employees communication with them abt any issue they don't like..for there own concern they will document it..So the question of involvinv other stakeholders etc is taken as a breach of hierarchy.. They will say who told u to go to hr and involve them as I was just giving u a responsibility abut u made a big thing out of it.. Now go in pip and speak to hr itna hi tumhe hr se baat karne ki interest hei.. I have seen this happen sit that why saying. . This is a very wrong advice.. Maybe purane zamane me chalta tha now a days it will go as oversmartness by employees
