I have exactly this car and I have to say it's even better in the flesh. My 110 still does all the daily jobs, but that is more to do with the rarity of the heritage rather than its capability. And yes, he's correct when he mentioned the appreciation in value, I've been offered nearly double than I paid. To me, mine is priceless.
I have a Ram 2500 4x4 Pickup BUT MAN! that Defender is one of my most desired off-roaders. To me it is Land Rover in its purest simplest form.
I grew up in northern Patagonia in and around landies... this particular beast is glorious!!! too bad I do not have the needed pocket-money to save one of these for my future... with this car you have a car for the next 67 years, for sure! I totally love its essential "backwardness" and I would always prefer this classic piece of automotive history over ANY other 4x4 (range rovers and all that junk included)

I don't have even a bicycle but it is my favorite machine and will own one in the near future
4:20; production actually ended on 29th January 2016 but they made those "1948-2015" heritage badges before they had to extend production to meet demand. One other reason production of the Defender had to stop is that the line had to be dismantled to be replaced by the one for the new Jaguar F-Pace.
If that's true its the most depressing thing I've heard all year, the F-Pace is complete non-event.

Pretty pore test drive like watching a bloke in the front seat talking. Cmon I thought you guys would have brought more to the table than that,seeing the land rover drive over the same bit of dirt road 5 times was pretty average. Got more out of reading your old mag.
