If you become an elector in the HRE you are able to stay in it after forming the Netherlands as electors can be of kingdom title, this is easily done by making another small elector a vassal
Not a birth place tho. Just burghers of Rotterdam were searching for some famous people they can celebrate. Couldn't found any famous born there. But Erasmus wasn't claimed by any other city. So they have just made a claim on him. Even renamed him (Erasmus Roterodamus) which is quite a accomplishment. Even tho he just lived there for four years and never came back ......
See Marco Polo and modern day claim of island of Korčula, Croatia for even more bold claim of his birth place. Even tho his family palace is in Venice and only reason it's not promoted (and free to claim?) is to NOT attract tourist to the building (Venice being occupied by tourists as it is, don't need to attract them outside of city center at least)
I think AQ got a core through an event, which fires if you occupy a province of your faith in a country of a different faith. That happens to me a lot when I siege down Lithuania as Russia
He makes new ones for each update, and they're all going to be similar because the last few updates haven't touched the Netherlands directly or changed colonial/trade gameplay. That said, I certainly get where you're coming from.
I had a fun game starting as Gelre where I played tall. I gave myself the target of owning the whole Low Countries region and nothing more, not even colonies. My small nation was more powerful than many of the huge nations, large tough army and navy, every basic building possible on every province, and by the end of the game I had a fort on every province and still wasn't getting full tradition for forts.
31:30 It's possible they got the event where you get a core on a province of the enemy, if: You are at war You have a different state religion The province is of your own religion And this can happen in an isolated province, letting you take neighboring ones that should be impossible.
After 1400 hours in the game, I finally started playing Ironman (until now I was playing on a modded version that I made to make the game slightly easier). And I am having a blast. Florence was my first tall campaign and it was much more funny than any "conquer, conquer, conquer" campaigns. Can't wait to try netherlands.
The Netherlands is one of my favorites for playing tall, but I cannot resist invading after a while because diplo is hard with powers around you after a while I get the sack. This video will come in handy.
The RUclipsr life circle when a new eu4 patch comes out: Byzantium Guide -> Florence Guide -> Brandenburg Guide -> Coloniser Guide -> France or England Guide -> Austria -> Netherlands Guide -> AGAIN
Hi. I started as Holland, won independence with 3 provinces, then Burgundy ended in union under Austria (which is my ally) before the truce even ended. Shall I just crush my pc with a hammer?
I recently try to play tall and small japan. I only took the Japanese islands and are developing while wondering if the Europeans dare attack me. I am 5 great power with all institutions and 1.9 k dev at 1680
Finally been waiting for this. Question though Ludi, I often see, when you get a free stability event, you spent mana points to boost stability and then select the free stab event. Why do you do this?
When you have positive stability, the cost to boost it even more increases by 50% (basically 50 adm), so he is saving adm, while getting buffs from higher stability
You should have given occupation to one of your vassals during the English-Burgundian war. That way England wouldn’t give you any provinces in the peace deal
I both laugh and cringe at the way you pronounce the dutch provinces. It's closer to 'bray-dah' instead of 'bredda'. Bredda sounds Jamaican, which is cool too :D Thanks for the video, Ludi!
I wish eu4 youtubers would play some more unique nations rather than releasing another video on a nation they play literally every patch. Like I swear I see holland, france, austria, brandenburg, and florence constantly. I get it they get more views but its a little redundant.
Idk maybe I'm just being picky, just a little tired seeing the "Holland/Florence is the OP nation at playing tall in eu4 *insert patch #*" even when essentially nothing has changed.
Japan next sir? ruclips.net/video/ODi2c5kK8Go/видео.html
Sure!)
The Land of the Rising Sun, and of the 'Hens' wearing 'Ties'
Love your videos!💚
It's funny because in real life the Dutch also played quite tall
Japan would be great, but please also finish the French HRE run 🙏🏻!
I guess the next video is about "Brandenburg is the strongest starting nation in EU4" or something similar
Dont be silly, no one plays brandenburg:)
Brandenburg, Netherlands, Florence, Byzantium every patch - it's unavoidable
Fr
dont forget Riga@@DylanSargesson
@@mezeidavid9086 imma try that in mu next game, seems like fun
Opening youtube and there's a Ludi video uploaded 56 seconds ago? Like winning the lottery
Bad RNG roll for you. Got video result rather than millionaire. Unlucky dude. I'm sorry you wasted your mana
Of course it's best to play tall, you already start below sea level
Great video Ludi, keep it up!!! ( you lost 33 points, were at 932 )
now i feel better, 33 pts doesnt seem too bad
Tall Bohemia when?
As a CK3 player would be nice to see how they are doing in EU4
Yes i would love if He Will aggain play Aa bohemia
You mean holy Hussite warrior Bohemia?
If you become an elector in the HRE you are able to stay in it after forming the Netherlands as electors can be of kingdom title, this is easily done by making another small elector a vassal
Usually Cologne. You also need to have 80 Trust and 200 relations with the Emperor (or a huge amount of ducats)
brother, you had 932 diplo point at the point of the peace deal
yeh - 33 down the drain - not THAT bad
Fun fact Erasmus has an university in the Netherlands in his place of birth Rotterdam. U can probably guess what it's called tho😅
yeah it's very famous too!
What it is called? 😮
@@chorosenkotriuglic4037 literally just Erasmus University Rotterdam

Great video as always!!
I swear you made 3-4 videos about the Netherlands, each one being fairly similar
He makes new ones for each update, and they're all going to be similar because the last few updates haven't touched the Netherlands directly or changed colonial/trade gameplay. That said, I certainly get where you're coming from.

You made my day! Thanks!
In Poland if you want to protest, you have to report it in advance, so police can prepare to make sure nobody is gonna get hurt.
Pls make the second part I wanna see gekolonisiert
Prof. Ludi's history lesson video when
Great video (i havent eve n watched it yet)
Love a good tall campaign
I tink it is a great addition for a already played session, to get this summary. Please keep doing this in future videos.👍🏻
After 1400 hours in the game, I finally started playing Ironman (until now I was playing on a modded version that I made to make the game slightly easier). And I am having a blast.

190.000 subs 🎊 🎉
The Netherlands is one of my favorites for playing tall, but I cannot resist invading after a while because diplo is hard with powers around you after a while I get the sack. This video will come in handy.
Also when you call all your strong allies, most likely weak enemy set will not even join and you’ll be fighting only nation you declare war on
The RUclipsr life circle when a new eu4 patch comes out: Byzantium Guide -> Florence Guide -> Brandenburg Guide -> Coloniser Guide -> France or England Guide -> Austria -> Netherlands Guide -> AGAIN
Ludi please finish the French HRE run!
Oh yeah, that was really cool and I wanted to see the rest of the mission tree.
@@XochiCh I was really hyped on that run, and the next part was the finale!
Ludi discovers in his inner monologue that we live under a dictatorship of the capital owners.
That's what I call self growth.
Hi. I started as Holland, won independence with 3 provinces, then Burgundy ended in union under Austria (which is my ally) before the truce even ended. Shall I just crush my pc with a hammer?
I was sleeping to a asmr video in my watch later playlist and then suddenly YT started playing this video, i woke up real quick lol
i cant imagine what that felt like xD
31:20 looks like AQ got a core on Sunni province via event and took provinces adjacent to that core.
As a libertarian, role playing as the UP is always my favorite scenario. I just did a play through of empire TW 2 mod and loved it
I wish that some colonisations were done to. Hope this Series continues 🎉
The tall becomes taller!
About the strike: "laugh in french"
Chilly Ludi Playing Tall in Holland 🎉
I guess the general is going to be really great
You had 932 Diplo Points at 15:08. So, you lost 33 Diplo Points due tot he 999 point cap.
31:20 The sheep must have gotten the defectors event sincce the provinces are sunni, so they could take their core and it's considered connected
I believe that champion gonna be a great guy
Ludi having Alzheimer's makes sense seeing as he has made a Dutch series at least once every patch (I don't blame him the Dutch are fun)
I recently try to play tall and small japan. I only took the Japanese islands and are developing while wondering if the Europeans dare attack me. I am 5 great power with all institutions and 1.9 k dev at 1680
lost 67 or so mana from that humiliate war. :D Thanks for all your videos man! always fun to watch and enjoy.
Learn to math. He lost like 33
Sunday without Ludi's video is sunday wasted.
When he takes 2/3 of the video to annex one province 😩. On the real though, love you Ludi😊.
I was playig holland and got the best luck i got a pu over austria but the didn't have hungary though
Fyi vocational colleges and other schools can also participate in Erasmus.
I think you had 921 dip mana prior to the show of strength and you maxed out at 999
Иронично, что в моем прохождении Австрия стала Нидерландами
The word you were looking for is "coastal province"
Finally been waiting for this. Question though Ludi, I often see, when you get a free stability event, you spent mana points to boost stability and then select the free stab event. Why do you do this?

ludi you should try to play the anbennar mod. Dwarves are very hard so if you like a challenge you should play as them
Why is there no stadthounder monarchy 1 gov reform for the voc trade ships?
Flagship called: "Belgium's not real" ? Thats another liked video my good sir😂😂😂
Can we get a Mehmet’s ambition video?
а на 15 минуте ты забыл нажать централизацию в профинциях которые качал =\
Very nice video ludi can you play as Syria and form Arabia
“I think he gonna be an Chad”
lets just say there was plenty of bruh moments in this video
I think it's gonna be a great guy
How to norway, get Norse, and burgundian inheritance
Historically the dutch went Calvinist which was protestant.
You should have given occupation to one of your vassals during the English-Burgundian war. That way England wouldn’t give you any provinces in the peace deal
I think he's gonna be good
your joust champion will be a max Chad lord

Thanks for the video, Ludi!
inca world conquest, when ludi?
Coastal Provinces!
how many more "netherlands playing tall MASTER" videos is it gonna take
You lost 33 diplo mana from that show of strength because of the cap, so it could've been worse
Something wants me to play tall, I dunno why
Does this game and its 9000 dlc ever go on actual sale?
What
It does very ofton, it usually gets at leats 1 humble bunble a year as well now a days, just gotta keep your eyes out
there goes 33 diplo points...
Now show what it's like to play tall in Imperator: Rome
67(15:21) instead of 100, loss of 33 Points
Good show
great guy
Fun fact: Friesland is better in every single way if you want to play tall.
"Expand infrastructure" is a broken mechanic cause it only available for human-players
was only like 30 points. you're fine.
I awaken and watch this video xd
You wasted 33 diplo at 15:05. For shame Ludi, fo' shame.
Czemu te same filmy w kółko 😢
ahh yes Ludi "Netherland guide" Part 129312312

They're not real
Ludi: I will promise Holland taller than before, taller than before
We're already the tallest people in the world Ludi, please stop, we won't fit through doors anymore.
Unfortunately, the dutch missions are kinda boring
There is a good Netherlands mod that changes the missions
Restore yhe British Empire
