Florence is one of those factions that I don’t play often, but when I do, it’s a lot of fun, and a gem in itself despite I always try and keep the Medici in power
Florence is a full blown addiction for me, I start up EU4 like “oh yeh, I’m gunna play outside of Europe today and have some fun!” 10 minutes later I’m staring at my screen wondering how I ended up on Florence run number 2,671,937
One good reason to have a vassal is that during war you can transfer all the sieged fort provinces to them to not have to pay for them yourself, and then take them back before signing a piece deal. You can also mothball the forts first to save them some money but then the enemy can re-siege them as if there were no forts on them, so do be careful with that.
Some time ago I watched Zlewikks MP campaing as Florence. He survived neighbourhoud with France, Austria and Spain and it was even before. So this country definitely has great potential.
You inspired me to start a florence campaign and I challenged myself to only expand when every good trade good province has at least 30 dev and the others at least 20. But always really every single time I play in the italian region the Ottomans expands directly into south italy after napoli is independent. But at least with France I beat them in a tough war (we were heavily outnumbered) and I could pop out a few provinces from byzantium.
So a nice run to start. It's insanely good RNG to get Sienna with no allies on December 11, as that never happens. But then you had so much bad RNG, especially with Ferrera allying Austria. I hope you can get Austria to dump them, or Austria loses the emperorship before the Reign In Italy event because dealing with them in the HRE would be pain. I also loved how you capitalized on getting Sienna to go after Naples. That is a great move, and the other big reason (faceting being the first) why you want Sienna ASAP. I am not surprised Aragon is trying to get the union back with Naples. It seems to happen every game (or Castile goes after them). I'm glad to see you jumping on Aragon quick because once they are in the union with Castile, it is a total pain to get anything from them. That France alliance will be key once that happens.
My favorite nation is Byzantium (Rome fan) but the mission tree is entirely composed of the same type of mission (with two exception, converting Anatolia to Orthodoxy and restoring the Pentarchy), conquering specific lands. And once you re-form the Roman Empire, there's nothing much else to do (besides going on a world conquest), not even new additions to the mission tree.
Assassin’s Creed II moment I recently did a Florence run , I managed to form Italy and was going for the Roman Empire after France and the Ottomans began to decline, but unfortunately, I did not make it because of AI Britain’s late game navy and amazing defense of the British Isles, as well as the various diplomatic blocks of Europe.
You need +125 relationship with the emperor, so that he will not ask for land. Old tactic, stay in war, got fixed. That's why, i would vassal lucca and siena, less AE, and with nobility +2 dip slots privilege, they are still free. You also get +3 forcelimit this way, and +6k troops from the vassals, and after 15 years, you can annex them.
every day you wait after 11 of december nations around will get MORE allies and it will be considerably harder to defeat them. If I waited a few days longer Siena likely allies someone else
My favorite opening is always to decc lucca at the start with the Genoa alliance. Get the fre company and a high shock leader merc company and you can win. Then you can humiliate and take money and War reps from geneo.
Lmao just started a campaign and here's the RNG I got : Sienna + Lucca allied by Austria / Bologna no allies, declared instantly / managed to ally Milano, Saluzzo, Savoy, 1 month after declaring Bologna I want to go ahead and declare on Ferrara that was only allied with Albania only to see that they got guaranteed by... Milano lmao
Never give up territories when the emperor asks. -Ludi ............... The emperor asks, im a noob, i listen to Ludi and refuse. ......... 200k HRE troops walk into my territory and im done.
One time i allied savoy in my gameplay and i swear on my life, somehow in like 20 years, some way but not through wars, Savoy gained a all neighboring countries into coalition against them, from France to Austria to whoever u think of... I think even poland got into it... And they sent me a call to war... i just was stunned and denied of course :D, still to this day i wonder if it actually was some bug or they did have a war and got too much aggressive expansion
I know this sounds like a joke, but i genuinely believe espionage ideas are quite good in here Ae is a big deal in Italy and it helps a lot Also its a diplo idea so you dont waste admin early game, when u need it the most
you are correct, i play a lot in italy and espionage first is big brain, diplo is also not bad, also innovative + espionage second + offensive third is also really great in Italy + HRE
Am I the only one, who tired of Ludi speaking about so called meta, or cool stuff in the game, while he actually plays only from 1444 to 1455? And that happens again, and again, and again.
Florence is definitely one of the most fun nations in EU4. Today I'm going to start new game for them. Goals: switch to monarcy with Medici on the throne => form Italy => take over HRE. Not so holy, but definitely Roman empire is on the way, lads.
Florence best EU4 nation, its just as good as shooting m61 out of an SR-25 into an extract camper... but Ludi wouldnt be a dirty snoopledorp extract camper would he
Once they get into the Age of Absolutism they start having issues, if your ally network is strong enough to at least bloody their nose at that point you can badly deathspiral them.
Next part of this campaign here - ruclips.net/video/Y62l17T1AyA/видео.html
so glad this got the second part, a lot of these smaller states dont deliver on likes which is shame bcs they the most interesting
One of these days there will be a Ludie video that features no actual words, only nonsense, yet we will all understand what he means.
I was thinking of making one as a meme ngl xD
I consider myself fluent in ludinese
@@aaee2815 I know that place, it’s over by Austria, Bohemia, Bavaria Hungary, and Romania. Even Japan.

it happens to me often but with Bohemia lol
Ludi: I need 1 diplo per month to get this mission, that means I have to get a +2 diplo advisor.
Ludi failed basic maths.
can confirm
You had me at Florence! It’s in a 3 way tie for my favorite nations in the game (with England and Austria).
ALL 3 solid choices
Lvl 1 advisor is enough for the mission Ludi, you will get 12 Mana points :)
This, I was just about to comment the same 😅
Great video!

You still working on the full British Empire video Ludi? I believe you have done Texas and Angevin. British Empire I am most looking forward to!
Nice Florence was my first world conquest run Florence to Italy to Roman empire = gg

Florence has such a nice map color
28:44 mark...yeah, fuck it! Let's do it. Best strategy ever!
Great video. Can I ask for a Genoa one? I feel like they are usually very underrated
Heya bud. Videos are still good and entertaining. Hope you are well and having fun

Wait for new dlc, you get a brand new mission tree for byzantium
@@xxrazzxx3779 For Byzantium, not the re-formed empire. But it's still a start and it might be good.

Just build 2 navies and a transport navy: while your 2 navies get wrecked you can land your troops and then you just need one province
I moved to florence. Gotta Say It Is way more fun on eu4 than in real life
I love gameplays with small amount of provinces for start so you can watch your nation grow
pls, don’t steal my wallet lubi
too late
@@LudietHistoriain my aragon campaign, castile have growing wild with it’s colonies in afrcia and i can’t instantly form spain. how to get around it?
Hi Ludi, hope you are doing well
Ciao ludi grazie per questo video italiano
I think you can release Sicily some provinces you took from Naples to get that sweet reconquest off Aragon.
You need +125 relationship with the emperor, so that he will not ask for land.
Old tactic, stay in war, got fixed.

yeah i realized after vassalizing would have been the play
I generally utelise the increased papal influence you have as florence, and i go for the papacy so i can conquer italy fast and for cheap AE
Could some one please explain to my, why is it good to attack on 11 December? What is important about 11 December?
every day you wait after 11 of december nations around will get MORE allies and it will be considerably harder to defeat them. If I waited a few days longer Siena likely allies someone else

ludi probably shouldv'e stolen one of the pope's vassals, and definitely should done the little used "enforce military access"
This guide is officially Machiavelli approved 👍
Still yet to get a game where the timing is perfect and I can attack Naples without Aragon involved
Just tried to start a Florence run and got rivalled by Austria three times in a row lol
Ludi have you ever noticed that florence looks like romania flipped?
Just a tip for alliances. Florence can pretty much always ally France if you immediately improve relations with them and ally their allies.
Clicking Like before even starting the video. I am doing my part!
Thank you bro
sienna allied venice and lucca allied austria, is that just a reset?
should not waste money on useles lvl 2 advisor because you needed 12 dip per months, not 13
ngl I realized that much later than you'd imagine xD

Hey do you think that doing wars on rivals in the early game to show strength is worth it?
Emperor can ask for unlawful territory even when you are ar war? Since when?
Aparently most recent patch xD

Also, wild the Donatello is only 50% cheaper. I'm pretty certain was fairly gay with Cosimo.
How long would a florence to rome game take

Is it possible to make other nations revoke their cores and claims from your lands diplomatically, without having to fight them?
