Actually all free men (including foederati) in late Roman Empire got citizenship by Edict of Caracalla. So, the most of barbarian kingdom was founded by citizens of Rome. Also if Byzantium and Latin empire counting as roman, living in them also give roman citizenship, because law that giving roman citizenship was never abolished (that mean true roman successor is Georgia with the most ancient and noble dynasty on throne).
'Roman RESTORATION as VENICE' “War is peace." Freedom is slavery." "Ignorance is strength.” Hey kids, just make up other madlibs combinations on your own!
Venice is always a fun nation to play, especially with this juicy Mission tree. Winds of Change so far seems like a definitive edition of EUIV, before "Project Caesar" is released. Great vid as always Ludi 😁 I hope, that there will be a Trebizond-Playthrough from you with the release of Winds of Change. This little Eastern Roman State and the Komnenoi dynasty deserve the attention ❤
Oh crap...bought EU4 on release day, have 3500 hours in it...never played Venice...but...if there is a Roman path now...dang, temped by the Dark Side...
Just a little historical titbit: in our history, Francesco Foscari, 65th Doge of the Republic of Venice, died in 1457, being 84 years old, and five days after being deposed.
With so many nations having insane permanent modifiers now, it's becoming possible to do silly things around tag switching. I have already seen examples of people doing campaigns where they switch between a good half dozen powerful tags rapidly by unstating everything and culture shifting. The stacks of permanent modifiers that are possible at this point are out of this world. Thankfully, that strat requires a lot of planning and effort, so that's a balance, but if you do it, you can become completely broken.
Hey Ludi, would recommend the bigger UI mod, it helps with things like the flagship creation at 11:40 or peace deals (considering you like war that much hehe)
Got 4k hours and I've never played Venice. Milan has always been my Italian nation of choice. Guess I know what my first play through will be when the expansion drops.
Imho you should be able to form Roman empire after conquering either all western or eastern parts of the empire + Rome/Constantinople (depending on which part you conquer), and then have that CB to conquer the rest.
New Ludi video dropped What do you think about the Balkans (except Byzantium obviously) being completely ignored? Like, every one of their neighbours has been given new flavour in the last couple of updates, but not them! I played Serbia in 1.36, and was grossly disappointed to see a basic mission tree.\ And as far as I know, the rest of the Balkan is the same 😭😭
The only time i played Venice, i colonised the America from top to bottom (had to fight the spanish, french and English one by one to get it done), in the meantime Brandenburg ate half of Germany, the Ottomans had pretty much obliterated Austria and the only thing keeping them in check was that i had allied Russia. Worth it tho
I made my Venice with above 100% marines capacity. My whole army is just marines with 5% Discipline and 100% drill gain bonus (if you unlock all naval ideas, this bonus is permanent) and artillery.
I wonder, when doing that 'Cernida System' military mission that lists all the various military ideas and the extra bonuses on them, what if you had all 4 of those military ideas? Would you get all those bonuses? Can you complete those ideas later (after completing the mission) and still get the effects?
Hi Ludi, huge fan of you! Learned so much from you over the years. I have a feeling your sieges go so high is because you're over-stacking and its giving you attrition on default. What do you think?
At this point I just feel like our wallets might be gone forever. But there is still hope, maybe if Ludi reaches 200k subs until the end of this month. Just saying, gotta try out every last possibility...

Rome appreciates your dedication to her citizen
Just bought it through your link. Love your content Ludi!
Just realized I have 1400 hours in this game and never played Venice
Same lol
Same
Same
I have more hours than that... I've tried playing Venice but never could get a campaign going without immediately losing interest
True eu4 player
Always play France or something idk
Fun fact, venice in the the only other state (apart from eastern rome) that was fouded directly by roman citizens
San Marino?
Eastern rome wasn't a nation though, it was the roman empire and held the official capitol. If anything the western empire was the created state.
@@lorenzofalorni3961 yeah that one too, I was talking about eu4 playables

26:25 I love the educational parts of these videos, today I learned that Venetian people sounds like Scottish Germans. Thanks, Ludi! :D
22:25 I just love it when Ludi starts speaking German. Really goes to the heart
its amazing how in depth you are in explaining what you're doing
That extra tradition from trade combined with the right monument really tops it
Holy Schnaps and Dogenschnitzel. Mr. Ludi Sir made Venice Roman again.
Damn bro this is fire
24:23 the last thing i expected to see in a ludi video is a tearless raptor reference
Just a little historical titbit: in our history, Francesco Foscari, 65th Doge of the Republic of Venice, died in 1457, being 84 years old, and five days after being deposed.
16:16 - second option gives the rewards of the first AND tells you more about the history
The wording is so ambiguous
@@nacho1595 how is it ambiguous? it literally says you get the other reward AND a history lesson.

Ludii, in the Renaissance's Venetian mission, the 2nd option also gives you the counselor, it is the same as the first only adds some history
bought the dlc with your link. great vid ludi.

Ludi: never had a leader to 80yrs
0 0 0 king: you called me?
I didnt even have to finish your video in order to know that I already want the second part haha
hope you're doing well Ludi. I just bought it using your link.
Quality content as always, thanks Ludi

Good job hitting the 10k likes
It was fun playing the Netherlands in early access, the new patch does it much better justice. Although I can see Venice was treated a lot better
I just realize that the last DLC of Eu4 comes in 1.37, and the start date of Eu5 is 1337
Coincidence? I THINK NOT
You are the only reason I watch RUclips nowadays
10:00 Pronoia rulers as ERE would like to remind about themselves.
I am very excite. Very nice!!

meanwhile my 1-1-0 infertile 104 year old ruler with no heir refusing to die:
34:20 why is France taking less AE after waiting for the next year?
He does the peace deal on 31/12 so the exact next day, the AE is reduced as the year changes.
As a person with a broad and wide knowledge of the Balkans I can assure you that Kosovo and more specifically its gold mine are rightful Venetian clay
I want to have new dlc ,this look so fun :) love from Serbia Ludiii

I'm a simple man. I see a Ludi video, I click like
Ludi we want colonial Venice ‼️‼️‼️
Great video as always, but the audio was a bit weird at times. You might wanna check your mic settings.
Ave legionarii e viva San Marco!
I'll play Venice tall this time 😂😂
I would love to see a peasant republic own the entirety of the new world
After Florence, now you can re-form Rome as Venice too? Interesting...
Nice work! Though... what were the devs thinking, by rewarding an "always at war" playstyle!
Ludi please finish the French HRE run!
Lol venice has a core on selanik at the start and you gave to byz... love them small changes in the game 😊
Get that 10k! I want part 2
Finally a Venice video 🎉🎉 I fucking love you ludi
Gets -90% and a -75% advisors, doesn't use them
Ok, 10k here and i still don't see 2nd part!
ive started to feel like taking byz as a vassal is more hassle than its worth now with how many rebels constantly spawn there...
New Ludi video dropped

Venice is now the true hegemon in Italy with this new mission tree, it's actually insane...Who is Florence? Milan? they are nothing now

Ludi is the Best!

Now with a new DLC Ludi is now obligated by the Japanese Immigration office to make a new Japan run in order for his resident status to be renewed.
Great video! Love it!!!
Ludi bro you got weird distortion in your mic sound
Damn can't wait for part 2
33:47 you actual muppets is crazy lmfao
Whats the deal with the Venetian Galleass? They seem to have the same stats as the Galley or am I missing something?
At this point I just feel like our wallets might be gone forever. But there is still hope, maybe if Ludi reaches 200k subs until the end of this month.

Awesome video
I always forget dismantling the HRE is always just an option. 😂

For a strange reason the fort in Kairo always falls fast. Really fast.
Ludi, how is your leader in 2024 still around?
It would've been better & more accurate for them to give the forming the roman empire quest to Rome even it wouldve been harder to achieve
can't wait to play venice
What about Serenza?
