Getting the copper mine developed and upgraded soon will be great because you can eventually create a monopoly event (through the mission tree I believe) that will allow you to just rake in ducats for the next 50 years by causing copper to be near 8 ducats.
I came here just to say that. So powerful. My monopoly got the price of cooper to 9 ducats! And the falun mine gives dalaskogen a prod revenue of like 30 per month, which is crazy. So fun lol

07:30 August 10 1628, sunk on the maiden voyage, one of the first european ships with two dedicated cannon decks that could carry up to 72 cannons (though she only had 64 (mostly 24 pounders) aboard due to logistical constraints). The hull was also covered with highly detailed sculptures that were sculpted by swedish and german artisans, the sculptures mainly depicted soldiers, angels, lions and romans. The romans and lions are the most facinating ones since they were there to spread a message of how the swedish empire was the next roman empire (like every damn country used to say) while the lions (who were placed on the front of the ship and on every single gun port) represented the king, Gustav II Adolf who was called the lion of the north She had a sister ship called Äpplet (The Apple) which did not sink due to it being *slightly* wider (though it was very difficult to steer it)
There was an encounter in the Middle Ages (I dont remember the year) between a Spanish bishop and a Swedish one in like Avignon or something because the Swedes wanted to claim that they are the descendants of the Goths with the Gotland and Ostergotland toponyms as evidence, and the Spanish bishop responded that the Swedes are the descendants of the slothful Goths that stayed there, while the Spanish are the descendants of the entreprising Goths that migrated and created powerful kingdoms, pretty funny to be honest.
It was certainly true during the Visigothic kingdom of Spain before the Arab conquest, where basically a Germanic elite ruled over the Spanish natives, not unlike France at the time to tell the truth, however at the time this conversation took place, probably in the high Middle Ages, the Spanish elite that was not under Muslim rule had gone native a long time ago, with nothing to remember the Visogothic period, and a lot of influence from the Crusades, in many ways, the Spanish conquerors were the true descendants of the Crusaders, both in attitude and spirit, as well as deeds.
I feel like we should probably change the joke to "Spain is overpowered" now that EUIV is developed in Barcelona. If I recall correctly, the Vasa sank because it was too heavy and hit the sandbar at the mouth of the Stockholm harbor.
No, it sank because the construction plan was altered many times after the original shipwright died so they ended up building two gundecks on a hull designed for one. I didn't hit anything at all, it was knocked over by a strong gust of wind. It sank in a fairly deep part of the harbour which is why it's so well preserved. If it had hit anything then they had access to the wreck and salvaged it directly after the accident.
I always go for a protestant, HRE vassal swarm sweden (and scandinavia)if possible, if not possible i go for expansion in russia, full Baltic and North Sea hegemon, sometimes both combined but then it had to be an easy league war
On the subject of the Goths, the Celts were all over the bloody place- Gauls, Gaels, Britons, Celtiberians, Galatians and Gallatians were all celtic subgroups, and were all over the place from the British Isles in the north, Iberia in the south and Anatolia in the east.
@@hologaming6163 hence, "kind of". It was in Napoleon's interest to let him, a french marshal first and foremost, to become the swedish king, in hope that even when it comes to it, Sweden will remain neutral. its true he did not promise anything, but what he did (joining the coalition) was definitely not in Napoleon's favor. He could've easily sat it out. Sometimes doing something against, and not doing something for has a big difference.
I find it interesting that in the early game, so many missions and flavour events take place. That really shows that mid 15th century really was the beginning of a new era and the middleages basically stopped.
Sweden was never known for their navy, and they more or less lost all naval encounters against Denmark. But somehow boots on the ground means more than boots on wooden planks.
I think it is worth to take that mission for dev in riga. the reason is in the riga mission tree there is mission which give them another development if they have a lot of buildings (and for that the development is necesarry so this is one of the ways how to develop it cheaper). so it makes that province even stronger. and I think all that free development is worth to make their integration little more expensive
norse me baby one more time 🎶 For real, Nordic Empire sounds like an awesome run! Pity you aren't doing this as Norway or Denmark, then you can get a mission to core England and form the North Sea Empire.
Hey just wanted to point out out theres a swedish mission that reduces the sami land's local autonomy to zero. You need to own all the sami provinces , have them all be following the same faith and develop them by 2 or 3 points and accept the culture. It unlocks more of the mission tree anyway so i usually go for that.
Hey LudieHistoria, a "stupid" challenge I just thought of, combining one with playing with all the managment banners on top, no indicator the whole campain, no pause allowed (except for piece deal with no outrougeous use of this wording to dev and stuff) wait, playing large of course :)
The true amazing play is turning gotland into a March. And keeping them around. They won't raid you, like ludi says about vassals, but raid others. You can still take all their trade power like a normal vassal. They will make tons of their own money off raiding, and put out way more troops and ships than another March would. Also the discount to forts means you can just chain their provinces to give them raiding range. Giving them island forts is deadly, low dev provinces with guaranteed -2 dice roll. Pirate March is op, your best friend for the whole game.
Haa ludi this time you couldnt suprise me, because as soon as I heard there might be a norse path added, I tried it with norway, the greenland thing did NOT work, and trust me I lost an entire day trying it, but the other path did work thank God, i think i got a bit lucky too, it wasnt easy but I did it and it was awesome afterwards
Sweden had one of the most impressive armies of this period, and defeated much larger armies with it. Having read the biografi of Alexander suvorov, im pretty sure he molded much of his military doctine on Sweden's armies, epasising cold steel and shock. Alexander Suvorov had a long military carrier in the Russian army, and was undefeated, The Russian troops under his command was at it's finest through all of Russia's history. Charles XII achived great victories with his army, but he was also the cause of it's downfall. Just the shear stupidity of attacking at Poltava, it also reflects how impressive these soldiers were, that they would march on and attack against such odds, and that the Russians were on the defensive against a much smaller army.
I love becomming the emperor. As long as you dont take to much dev in the first war, and rush friendship with austria, you can join before you grow to big. And then become emperor if possible to conquere our rightfully conquered land.
I need your help: I'm looking for the title of the song in background that starts to play at 29:04. Please, are several months that I'm searching for it and I'm going crazy. Thanks in advance to anyone who will be able to help me.
I love Riga so much as a vassal lol. You can do their mission « Develop our city » pretty easily by deving them to about 30 and building all the basic buildings (church, castle, both of which they might already have, market, workshop, barrack) and it gives it +15 dev and 60+ ducats in tax, which is ridiculously good 😂. They give you about 7 ducats a month after that. Obviously, they have a ton of trade modifiers which make them super stronk in the baltic node. You can divert trade if you want, but I find that I’m able to dominate at about 80% trade power without doing so, which in turn allows them to field stoopid armies for an opm. Just did the leagues (which we won). Norway fielded about 10-12 regiments while Riga had 27 😂. Not quite a full stack at mil tech 14-15 (which would be 29-30 width), but again, pretty powerful for an opm and they occupied most of Hungary on their own.
