One of the rebellious songs of my youth, along with Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run. Also, one of my fave piano artists is Dr. John with that NawOrleans style. I think you would like his version of Making Whoopee, so fun! I forget the name of the Lady Artist who sings with him on it. She's great!
Lived in New Orleans for 15 years and had the great honor a few times of seeing Dr. John practicing his art in the back room of a local bar. It was Rickie Lee Jones who sang with him on Making Whoopee - great pair! RIP to the Night Tripper...

Bennie & The Jets hit #1 on the soul chart. Elton was very pleased with that accomplishment! He was the first white artist after Elvis to do that!
