Just saw him last month with my daughter and niece for his farewell Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour and he opened with this song. He put on such an amazing show. At 75 years old, he's still got it!

This was the soundtrack to me and my sisters’ adolescence. The first concert I ever went to was Elton John in 1974 and he put on the most amazing show. I was on the floor level near the amps and I couldn’t hear for two days after that show. The 70s ruled!

"Bennie And The Jets" went to number one on the US Top 100 chart and number fifteen on the R&B chart in 1974. This song got a lot of radio airplay throughout the seventies. It sounded great coming through twelve inch speakers attached to an FM stereo or a record player. The album track was engineered to sound live with audience sounds at the beginning taped to create the impression of a concert performed by a fictional band. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" was his other big hit that year. The rocker "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" tore up car speakers back then too. For something different from back then check out a clip of Elton John singing "Pinball Wizard" in the movie Tommy.

Bennie & The Jets hit #1 on the soul chart. Elton was very pleased with that accomplishment! He was the first white artist after Elvis to do that!

Elton John has had over 65 hit singles in the USA! Beginning in the early 1970's, he is still making the charts today! Check out his early hit from the 70's called Honky Cat - studio version.

The studio version of Bennie & The Jets went to #1 on both the Pop and the Soul Charts, from the #1 double album called Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, released in 1973.

The 70’s in Hollywood Cali….this was the Pimps music, blasting this out the Bentley’s and cruising the Hollywood strip. WoW, those were rocking years ❤❤❤🎉

Although any comment on your page is in some way about music, this one is more directly about you. I am just so glad to see you back! I just want you to know that when you're off living your life you are truly missed on here. I check faithfully every day to see if you've returned and this was a pleasant surprise for me today. Hope all is well with you, that life is treating you kindly and that peace and love touch you always. 💜

I beg everyone to react to this video, you're the only one who did, thank you so much😅. Some people do react to Bennie And The Jets live 2010 or 2022, I really don't understand what are they doing 🤣

One of the rebellious songs of my youth, along with Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run. Also, one of my fave piano artists is Dr. John with that NawOrleans style. I think you would like his version of Making Whoopee, so fun! I forget the name of the Lady Artist who sings with him on it. She's great!

Lived in New Orleans for 15 years and had the great honor a few times of seeing Dr. John practicing his art in the back room of a local bar. It was Rickie Lee Jones who sang with him on Making Whoopee - great pair! RIP to the Night Tripper...

So many great songs just him and a writer. They have been together for years , Elton did all the music. What a team. Not one song was released by anyone else but the two ,. Please listen to "Yellow brick Rd. " A dig at the music industry , pure genius
