This was a radio MONSTER, from a monster album. I have owned it in Album, Cassette, CD, and Digital. Times have changed, but the music remains just as great as back then.
Elton John was the first caucasian artist to hit #1 on the Soul Chart after Elvis did it. And he did it with this song, Bennie & The Jets back in 1974. It also hit #1 on the pop chart! And no, this song was not recorded live! It was recorded in the studio and the audience sounds were mixed in later to create the illusion of a live recording.😮😊
The vocals and beat of this song are completely unique for Elton and I love it!! Thanks for posting these great songs I actually listen to many great music reactors and you are top shelf!!
Man the first song on this album is an EPIC track worthy of your attention. "Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" is a musical journey unto itself.
We buy this album, go to Chaz's house, pack a fat bong, pass a few hooters and listen to this legendary double set from start to finish.... all 4 of us laying on the floor discussing what we thought of each song.... We all agreed.... Seriously awesome stuff on that album, play it again.
Good times!
Man the 70’s were a blast.. good times good times. 4 finger bag right lol.
@@christyd369 "Maui Wowie" mixed w/ Peruvian Black Hash and Oil. Smelled beautiful, tasted divine, blew our mind.... Yeah, the 60's - 70's were the greatest era to be a Teenager
Such a great song about fan worship.
I've always loved the way this one draws you in like you're really at the club too!✨ It's fun watching you react
Elton is fabulous. And love your quiet and refined style.
With the tinny sound on transistor radios, many of us thought he said "she got electric boobs" not boots😅
He has fun with a lot of voice play here. When Elton has fun, we have fun!
1976, local bowling alley with pool tables and pinball machines. I’m saying A5 on the jukebox pls … b-b-b-b-Benny and the jets. Sets the mood perfect for playin pool! Good cruzin song too.
Great album, every song was a hit! Thanks JM!
This tune was used in the movie Aloha Bobby and Rose.
this song isn't live they added that later because they liked the way it sounded.
Imagine hearing this live in concert!!! Loved it
wish you could bring this music back
Roll The Dice... comes up - "In My Life" is a Winner
I Did this reaction but it got blocked!
@@JMBOYTV BUMMER, at least you know it is a very special song. Personal and we all can relate.
@@JMBOYTV On a scale of 1-10.... what do you give it?
I'd say a solid 8, I definitely enjoyed it!
@@JMBOYTV Fair enough for the song overall, rather simple. Nice melody. Lyrics are a solid 10 for me. Most everyone can relate to what he expresses about memories and loving someone.
Two overlooked song from this double album is "Sweet Painted Lady" and "Social Disease"
I like how u listen to the whole song then comment. I actually wait to hear your reaction. Right on!
JM knows that his subscribers love his "No Pausing" and will let him know if he ever changes that policy.
Loving all the Elton john!!
How about Iron Maiden
Hallowed by thy name
One of metal's biggest hits ever!
There is a live version 16 years old that I think you and your viewers will LOVE!!
Elton John/Can You Feel The Love Tonight from The Lion King which Elton wrote the score for!😊
They added sounds in because the song wasn't good enough to put on the album. Elton had to preform this in Soul Train (vide is on RUclips somewhere) because this was such a hit on the "Black Radio" or in the Soul/R & B stations back in 73.
I never heard that they added the sound effects for that reason. Wiki has producer Gus Dudgeon saying an errant piano chord at the beginning reminded him of a live show, so they decided to make it sound 'fake-live'.
